Monday, uggghhhh

Well, it's Monday night after a pretty crappy weekend, ha ha. It really all started Friday when I noticed my car was making a funny noise when I would turn to the right. Well, that lead to Saturday when the Irish lost. The annoying thing was the fact that I knew they should have won that game. They had two turnovers in the red zone and missed two field goals and that was really the difference. Besides that, I really liked the passing game and Michael Floyd and Golden Tate will be known as two of the greatest wide receivers ever at Notre Dame. Well, that lead to Sunday where the Giants played down to the Bengals and barely beat them in O.T. Add onto that the Mets going down in flames at the end of the season once again and that's just a great weekend/Monday. Well, after work today I took my car to get repaired and now I get to pay $500+ for it. Just a great 3 days, ha ha. Oh yeah, Rob I forgot to say my last tat is on my left arm just above my elbow inbetween my tricept & bicept. After all the crappy sports stuff, I just don't have it in me today to write a big post. Maybe tomorrow. Maybe.

Roger I just read your tattoo story, and although I already knew most of it, it was somewhat entertaining. You have horrible grammar and need to use a spell-checker badly though, haha. Half of the sentences didn't even make sense. I was going to respond with my life story, but I didn't want to put yours to shame and make you feel bad.

I think you should get another tattoo before you get married, otherwise you definitely won't get anymore. Don't tell Maureen I said that though. Here's my idea for a tattoo you should get to show your sports allegiances. You should get an upside down New York Giants football helmet with the Mets apple sticking out of it, and a shamrock with the Notre Dame symbol as the stem of the apple. I think it'd look cool if you could get a good artist.

Anyways the Mets enjoy giving up granny's to pitchers, so that's always fun to watch. I think tonight is the deciding night in the season. If the Mets win, they are in the playoffs. If they lose, they will not make it, especially if the Brewers win. I'm glad Santana has the mound tonight, but it all depends on if the Mets can hit or not. Their bats have really cooled off in the past week.

Koho, congrats on the win streak. Beginner's luck seems to suit you well in fantasy sports. You're lucky you're not facing me until week 11 also. Now you have plenty of time to prepare yourself to get destroyed.

I am surprised it took you so long to hear that noise on your car, I cut those cables and hoses almost two weeks ago when you were up here for the stag. Just wait...pretty soon you shouldn't be able to turn to the left.

Oh yea, who is winning fantasy football?? Damn right its me. Suckers.

A few points I would like to make:

1. I was not impressed at all with Notre Dame. I really don't think you should even mention them. Uconn is far superior.

2. If the Mets collapse again, I think it's time to find a new team. I think Malone should go with the A's and Roger should go with the Rangers.

3. Kohanski has more knowledge in fantasy football than anyone else hence the reason he is currently winning.

4. The Giants are 3-0 and won the Super Bowl and it doesn't seem like anyone is talking about them. Furthermore, the Giants won the Super Bowl, but I had to watch the terrible Patriots game on Sunday. I think I'm going to write a letter to CBS.

5. This is more of a question than a point, Malone are you really going to get married? I need to mentally prepare for this. Also, I'd like to request some songs for the wedding. They include Maps, Journey Don't Stop Believing, Usher Love in the Club, and Sisqo Thong Song.

The Thong Song is a must, Malone's sister agrees on this one I'm sure.

Roger I really don't care for college football and am pretty clueless as to why you're such a big Notre Dame fan. Maybe you should just become a fan of all the sports teams that are randomly always on national TV, like the Braves too.

Kohanski, I have no idea how you managed to draft even a halfway competitive team in such a tough league, but you have won some very close games and your team is nothing special. You will soon come crashing down to earth.

Perotti there have been lots of teams that have won the Super Bowl, but the Patriots obviously get the best ratings since they went undefeated and everyone hates them. I would also guess that there are more Patriots fans than Giants fans in Connecticut.

Malone - we have some MLB playoff bets that will be decided soon, can you find our playoff picks so we can see who wins that? Then there was the Red Sox ALCS bet.

Rob, you are still upset with me since I came back from over 30 points down going into the Monday night game against you. Its not my fault I am a better fantasy player than you. The mark of a great team is the ability to win in close situations, which is apparent in my 3-0 team. Please do not knock mt team for winning in close situations.

I guess you can say my fantasy team is the opposite of the mets.

Oh wow, is sure feels great being a fan of a baseball team that has clinched a playoff berth

Rob, here's my playoff predictions, but we never actually bet on that. Besides they will change in a week and I'd then bet on that.

ALDS: White Sox over Rays (5 games)
Angels over Red Sox (4 games)

NLDS: Cubs over D-Backs (3 games)
Brewers over Mets (5 games)

ALCS: Angels over White Sox (5 games)

NLCS: Cubs over Brewers (7 games)

World Series: Angels over Cubs (6 games)

Perotti, as we look back on the baseball season it appears that Phillips was a slightly better fantasy player than Upton overall (unless you really value steals).

But the real lesson learned is that Bagley, by finishing in last last season by only .5 point over me, and benching his entire roster in the final weeks in an attempt to get the first pick (who ended up being Ryan Howard), is a douchebag, and doesn't deserve the prize money. At least we have a draft lottery this year.

I think the Patriots fans vs. Giants fans in Connecticut might be closer than you think. However, the Jets may factor in and keep the Giants down slightly. Also, a lot of people jumped on the Pats bandwagon and they will jump off just as quickly if they have a down year. This, inadvertently, brings up another reason why New York is so much better than Boston. New York/New Jersey can support two teams in every major league, however, Boston/New England can not. Why do you think Boston doesn't have two teams? I know New York is a larger TV market, but I wonder if there are other reasons.

Also, I agree that the Phillips vs. Upton debate was mostly a wash. Phillips didn't do as good as I would like, but what can you do. I had a pretty good draft overall and made some solid moves. I think Roger had one of the worst fantasy baseball drafts in recent memory. However, his HR team was great so I guess it evens out.

I think the reason Kohanski is doing so well in football is that he sandbagged us and made us think he didn't know anything. I bet he writes for ESPN.com under an alias.

You are finally catching on Perrotti...

Roger, only another week until you are back in CT. Can you please bring Maureen?

Roger, last night was probably the 2nd worst Mets loss I've ever witnessed. They had a guy on 3rd base with no outs in the 7th, 8th, and 9th innings and scored a total of 1 run in those innings. This just might be the least clutch baseball team in MLB history. Not a single hitter OR pitcher can step up with the game on the line and get the job done. It's as if none of them want to make the postseason. I hate to say it, but I think that game last night just ended the Mets' season.

Anyways, where have you been? Please respond to your loyal readers' comments. Are you gonna do my tattoo idea or what?

Yeah this whole Mets thing is pretty painful to watch, even for me.

Almost as painful as a TicketNetwork soccer team.

Malone and Roger (and you too Perotti I guess), if your team doesn't make the playoffs, I would like to extend an invitation to become temporary Red Sox fans to each of you.
