Monday
So, I'm home from work. Long day doing training, but it wasn't that bad because THE METS WON! I know, it's only the first game of the season, but it's still nice to see them start off with a win! Hopefully they can keep up with what's going on, but who knows. I mean, they are playing the Marlins, so this should be an easy sweep. It's also nice to see the phillies get blown out at home. How do you give up 5 runs in the ninth? Really, how do you do that after mr. mvp rollins hits a game tieing two run homer? Well, let's hope that the Mets keep it up and that the Phillies keep on playing like they did today. Because you know if that happens the Phillie fans will all be on a suicide watch by July.

R.I.P.
Sadly, once again one of my favorite tv shows has died and gone to tv heaven. And actually, for the second year in a row it's the same show. As was announced either early this week or late last week, Jericho was cancelled. Last year it was cancelled and the fans responded by sending a few tons of peanuts to the execs of CBS and they brought the show back. Unfortunately they only brought it back for 8 episodes for a mid season showing to see how fans responded. Well, as you can tell not as many fans watched it to have CBS keep it. Or at least, not enough when it originally aired. See, the problem is is that Jericho has either led or been at the top each week for downloads from itunes. In fact, in one week there were 750,000 downloads of the shows. That doesn't also count for the people who dvr'd the show. That's one thing that is unfortunate now about tv shows is that you really can't tell how many people are actually watching the show because not everyone watches the show when it originally airs, especially with the what technology there is now. It's really hard to tell. One thing about the Jericho I'll miss is the fact that they never really took an episode off. You know, there were never any episodes where at the end I didn't care if I saw that episode or not. With most tv shows there are always a bunch of those each season. With Jericho there wasn't. Season one was just one great episode after another. I really thought that they had a balance to show. The plot was always good for each week and they also had enough character development that made me care, or in some cases, really hate a character. Every week I looked forward to what would happen in the world of the citizens of Jericho, Kansas. Now, the biggest problem that I think really killed the show was a DUMB decision that the execs made for the show. Half way through the first season they put the show on hold for 3 months! Who does that? Who would think that this would make any sense? I just didn't understand how this would be good for the show? Would this make sense for any other show? Just think if during a season of 24 they decided to put it on hold for 3 months? Or Friends, Seinfeld, American Idol, 2 and a half men? And it showed when it resumed after 3 months. Before the break the show was averaging about 15 million viewers. After, it averaged around 8 million. This season it's been around 6.8 million. Just not enough to keep it alive on network tv. Now, my one hope is that one of the smaller cable channels picks it up. It would be cool if someone like TBS or maybe USA, TNT, F/X or probably the best fit would be the SciFi channel(that's because reruns of the first season are on it, he he). I just think that the SciFi channel could have a really good night if they had Jericho & then Battlestar Galactica back to back. Wouldn't that be a good 2 hours of tv or what? So, I'll be hoping that this happens. If not, I'll be waiting for season 2 to come out on dvd and then I'll be able to watch the entire show whenever I want. Plus, there's an alternate final episode out there. Hopefully that'll be on the dvd. On another note, if you're CBS, why don't you come out with a smaller channel(like how Fox has F/X and ABC has ABCFamily) and put on there shows that had a decent fan base, but not big enough to keep on the major channel? Wouldn't that make sense? They've already cancelled two shows that I love and would be great to be on that show(Jericho and The Class) plus they could show reruns of their biggest drawing shows like Survivor and 2 and a half men and those CSI shows. Wouldn't that make sense? You're telling me that if a show like Jericho which would bring 6-7 million viewers to the smaller channel wouldn't help it win that time spot against the other lower cable channels? Just a thought.

Hitch Hiker
So, you're probably wondering what brought this topic up. Well, every once in a while when I'm driving to my place, there's a homeless guy that shows up. He's there maybe once a month and all he asks for is money. And for some reason I don't ever give him any. It's probably because I'm usually grumpy because it's usually after work and no one can drive in Ohio. So, most of the times I just want to get to my apartment and I don't want to deal with anyone, ha ha. Well, on Friday, as I was driving towards my apartment I came to the same spot and the guy wasn't there. But, none the less I started to think about the time that I picked up a hitch hiker. So, here's the story.
I believe that it was either summer or fall 2005. I had started working at ticketnetwork in february so I'd had already been there for a while. A friend of mine from my church was getting married in Albany, because that was where his wife was from. It was a Saturday wedding. Well, I stayed for the reception a little bit and then decided to get back to Connecticut since it was like a 2 hour drive. One thing I really like to do is just drive on the highway and cruise along listening to music and sing along. It's probably a good thing no one can hear me, he he. Well, I had needed gas so I stopped somewhere near where the NY & Mass borders meet. I think the NY throughway had just turned into the Mass Turnpike. So, I stopped for gas and I decided that I needed something to drink because it was around 8:30 PM. So, I pulled off at a gas stop and got gas. I decided to go into the store there and get something to drink & eat. As I was walking into the store there was a guy who had asked a lady for a ride. She said no. He then turned to me and asked me where I was headed. I told him Connecticut. He then asked if I could drop him off near Springfield. Now, I'd like to say that from the goodness of my heart I decided to take him with me, but to be honest I was kind of like a deer in the headlights and I just mumbled yes. Well, after I got my soda & candy I went over to my car and I looked around for my new passenger and I couldn't find him. Now, most people are thinking, WHY ARE YOU PICKING UP A HITCH HIKER? Well, too be honest I kind of tried to get out of it. See, I didn't see him around me so I waited a second and then started driving back to the turnpike. Well, as I got to the on ramp I saw him pick up his stuff and walk to the road. Part of me wanted to keep on driving and not worry about it. But a bigger part of me felt bad for the guy so I pulled over and picked him up. Now, some people would be worried, but I really wasn't. See, I use to carry a hidden weapon in my car. No, it's not a gun or a knife. I have a 4 cell maglight in my car. It was hidden on the left side of the driver's seat and you don't even know it's there. Pretty cool. If there was any funny business and I could easily take that sucker out and let the person have it. So, I wasn't too worried, plus the guy seemed pretty nice. So, I figured that if we kept talking then things would go just fine. And you know what, that's what happened. I drove him for about an hour and a half and we talked the entire time. It was actually pretty sweet. His name was Bradley, well at least that's what he told me. He just came to the NorthEast from California. He was making his way to N.H. He wanted to build a cabin before winter started and live out there for the winter. The next day he was going to buy the tools that he needed and go live there. I thought that was pretty cool. I could never do that. We talked about growning up and stuff like that. How we got where we were. He even offered to buy me a beer once we got to where he wanted to be dropped off. And then we talked about girls. At the time I was interested in someone(no, not Maureen). I was upset because as much as I wanted to make a move on this lady I had not yet. He told me to stop being a wuss and go for it(and no, I never really did. I don't count making a fool of myself while I'm drunk as going for it). He then told me something to say to get a girl that I'll never forget. He said to go up to her and say "I want to f*ck you tonight and make love to you in the morning." Now, I don't remember this because I thought it was a good line to use and honestly I don't even know why I remember this. I think it was just because of everything that was going on. Now, to my knowledge I never used this on this lady and if I did, she never told me the next day. I just thought the line was funny and I knew I could never say it. Now Perrotti and Rob, you have my complete approval to use this on as many girls as you want. So, just before I got to our destination, I received a phone call from a friend of mine because a bunch of them where at some party up near Uconn. So, as I dropped off my guess of about and hour and a half, I informed him that I would not be able to make it for the beer(I was also kinda paranoid that something would happen if I did. I kinda feel bad about it, but I figured I was pressing my luck already) and he picked up his clothes from my back seat, I offered him one of my hoody sweatshirts because I knew it was going to be really cold in N.H. And that was that. I made it back to Ct. I actually showed up to the party just as my friends were leaving and I'm pretty sure we went into Hartford that night and had a boring time, because after all, Hartford is really boring. Well, I've never heard from Bradley again. I don't think I would have since I never gave him any contact information. I hope he made it out of the winter alive. Now, whenever I see a hitch hiker, I always wonder if I would have a good time like I did the first time. But, I don't think I'll pick anyone up because there's the chance that I'll ruin my perfect record of having a good experience driving someone completely random in my car who I just picked up off the highway. Ha ha.

Monday Morning
So, it's Monday morning. I'm about to leave to go to my new job. And to tell you the truth I'm kinda scared. I guess it's because I'm going to a new environment. I don't know what it's going to be like there. I don't know, I guess I'm always like that when I start a new job. I'm just soooo use to my old job and everything that went to that. So, we'll see what happens. I'm pretty sure it won't be bad there, just something new. Well, I was going to write about the time I picked up a hitch hiker, but that will be delayed once again. I'll try and get it into the post tomorrow, he he. And I'll let you know how day one goes.

Keeper League Baseball
Well, as I was driving to start watching the ncaa tournament I thought about writing about the time that I picked up a hitch hiker on the way back from a wedding. But, I received an email for a request to judge my team versus the other teams in my keeper fantasy baseball league. So, while I watch my Gonzaga team try and hold on against Davidson and pray that Drake pulls it out against Western Kentucky, here are my thoughts about the league.
My Team:
Here is my current roster:
Catcher: Victor Martinez
1st Base: Albert Pujols
2nd Base: Jeff Kent
SS: Orlando Cabrera
3rd Base: David Wright
OF: Carlos Beltran
OF: Magglio Ordonez
OF: Vernon Wells
UTL: Jim Thome
UTL: Hideki Matsui
SP: John Maine
SP: Oliver Perez
SP: Kelvim Escobar
RP: Takashi Saito
RP: Huston Street
P: Brad Penny
P: Clay Buchholz
P: Jon Lester
P: Javier Vazquez
Here is the list of my Bench Players:
OF: Jacoby Ellsbury
OF: Kosuke Fukudome
SS: Khalil Greene
1B: Mike Jacobs
2B/SS/3B: Yunel Escobar
Okay, I did make a trade already. I traded Brian Roberts to Rob for Javier Vazquez because I forgot how many pitchers we needed, which sucked. I had put in a waiver claim to pick up Gil Meche and drop Mike Jacobs, but instead I was able to trade for Vazquez.
Offense: I LOVE my offense. I really do. If you look at what my team did last year, I have 6 guys who had at least 100 rbi's. I have 2 guys who had 90+ rbi's, and 2 more who had 80+ rbi's last year. I have 4 guys who last year scored 100+ runs last year and 4 guys who had 85+ runs last year. I also have 9 guys who hit 20+ home runs last year. I have 8 guys who hit .300 or better last year and 3 guys who hit .275 or better last year. My weak point on my offense is stolen bases. I traded my best SB guy from last year. Right now I only have 4 guys who were double digits in SB's from last year. We'll see how things go and maybe later in the year I'll trade for SB's. What I like about my team are the wild cards on it. I have Vernon Wells who had a HORRIBLE season last year. What I'm hoping is that last year was a fluke(he was battling some injuries and should be better this year) and he can return to the 100 runs, 30 hr's 100 rbi, .300 average he's capable of. I also have Kosuke Fukudome. Too be honest, I drafted him because of his name. But what I'm hoping is that he's like Matsui. Some guy who's going to bat 300, hit 20 hr's, get 100 rbi's. Wouldn't that be some type of trading chip later in the season? Then there's Mike Jacobs. I remember when he came up with the Mets and in his first at bat he drilled a HUGE hr. He was my second favorite young Met behind David Wright. Then we traded him in the offseason for Carlos Delgado. I like Delgado, don't get me wrong, but I'd rather have Jacobs now. I also have two young guys who I think will have similar seasons. They're Jacoby Ellsbury & Yunel Escobar. I don't think either will hit a ton of hr's, but they should score a lot, have a lot of rbi's, steal a decent about of bases, and hit .300. Not too shabby.
Pitching:
Yeah, every one is going to tell you that my pitching is my Achilles Heal right now. It's going to be hit or miss, and I'm thinking it's going to be hit. I really like Perez & Maine. That's why I kept them. There's just something about John Maine. I don't know what it is but it seems that every time he steps out there he could strike out at least 10. Last year he struggled in the second half. I think that's more to hte fact that he's not use to pitching a whole mlb season. And then there came his last start where he struck out 13 and didn't give up a hit until the 9th. I think he'll have a better season than he did last year. Then there's Oliver Perez. He really is the biggest wild card on my team. He has the potential to be better than Maine but he can also get distracted really easily and end up having a horrible game where he walks 6 or more guys in a game. So, I'm hoping Rick Peterson can help control him more this year. Escobar had a monster year last year. 18 wins, 160 k's, good era & whip. I'm hoping he can keep it up this season. Brad Penny had a nice season last year and he pitches in a pitcher friendly park. He should be able to keep that up. Vazquez was absolutely nasty last year. I just hope he can be close to what he did last year. My two big wild cards play on the same team. Buchholz was money last year when he pitched. Lester did okay but he was coming back from fighting off cancer. I think he'll be stronger this year and should do better as they anchor the red sox rotation. So, we'll see what happens with my pitching. I took a gamble this season so I might have to make a trade or two during the season to correct things.
As I look at the other teams it's really hard to find a clear favorite. Bagley has the exact opposite team as mine. And bagley picked just about the same type of team as he did last year. And last year he finished in last, ha ha. I really don't think there's a clear favorite. As much as it pains me to say it, I think maybe Perrotti could be a very slight favorite to repeat. It seems that he might have the most balanced team. Zak's team has a pretty good offense, but his pitching could actually be worse than mine. And that's saying something. I'm pissed that Malone stole Cory Hart from me. I swear, if Bagley had agreed to our original trade and understood that he had to keep Pujols, I would have kept Wright, Beltran & Hart. But, Malone, why do you have Chris Young? He batted .237 last year. You'd be better off with Jack Cust. At least he batted .265. So, there are my thoughts going into the start of the season. I'm hoping my gambles pay off and hopefully I can win it all this year. Or at least be in the top 3, he he.

Cartoon vs. Movie - The Real One Part Duex
So, I was given today and tomorrow off so I get to sit and watch the ncaa tournament while waiting for my new job to start, which is nice. I've been training the person who took over for me the past week so I didn't have that much time to write everything in the blog. I could only get part of the cartoon vs. movie done yesterday so I'll finish the rest of it today. Hope you enjoy!
Justice League:
Cartoon - This one is right along the lines as the Batman cartoon. Which is to say that the cartoon is really good. I like how there were a bunch of good super heroes together, fighting together. The stories were done well and the drawing/coloring was excellent. I really enjoy watching this cartoon, even today. This was DC's taking back the afternoon cartoons from Marvel(If I'm correct, this came after the X-men cartoon). There was also the Death of Superman cartoon movie that I haven't watched yet. But I'm not sure if that would fall under the superman cartoon? Oh well.
Movie - Well, as you can guess there isn't a movie yet, for this cartoon. But it's in the works. They haven't cast anyone and it's been delayed because of the writer's strike. I think it'll be pretty good as long as they can come up with a good story, ha ha. The only question is who do you cast for Batman & Superman? You already have Christian Bale doing the new Batman movies and that guy who played Superman in superman returns and you also have the guy who plays superman in the tv show, Smallville. What do you do if you're the movie studio? Well, I think you have two options that make sense. You either hire Christian Bale and the guy from the superman movie, which would still be really cool because now you can do all sort of crossovers. I don't think you could really run with the guy from smallville. The second option that you could do is have the movie take place a lot later than when the other batman and superman movies take place and cast guys who look a little older than the people who are playing them now. Christian Bale's batman takes place when Batman first begins. It's an origin storyline. You could hire, I don't know, maybe Eric Bana to play Batman and then another older actor to play superman. It would make sense and wouldn't really screw up any storylines or really confuse anyone. But that's just my two thoughts.
Mario Bros:
Cartoon - Am I the only one who remembers this cartoon? I just remember they had two guys who dressed up as Mario and Luigi and introduced the episode. I remember they had a rap that started out as "We're the Mario Brothers and plumbing's our game." That's all I remember, he he. I think I like the cartoon, but I think it only lasted like one or two seasons.
Movie - Yeah, I bet you don't remember this movie. And the people who did see it probably wish that they didn't remember it. It was just a very very bad and dumb movie. I can't even really remember who was in the movie. I think Alyssa Milano was in it. Unless that was the Double Dragon movie. Well, knowing that the writers in Hollywood love to remake movies, maybe we'll get a remake of this? They couldn't make a worse movie..... or could they.
Spiderman:
Cartoon - I'll be honest with you, I don't remember much of this one. I know there were two cartoons. One was Spiderman and his amazing friends or something like that. And I think the other was the Amazing Spiderman. What I remember about Spiderman was that he was always making jokes. Now, does anyone remember the spiderman cartoonish show that was on MTV? I do, because I have it on dvd. That was actually really good. Doogie Howser was the voice of spiderman, Ian Zerling(Steve from 90210) was Harry Osbourn and Lisa Loeb(yes, the singer) was the voice of Mary Jane. Unfortunately there was only 1 season and it ended with a huge cliff hanger. I wish they would have made a second one :-(
Movie - You know, the first two movies were really good. I really liked them and I'm not really sure which one I liked more. What I liked about the first movie was that they really had a bad guy in it. What I liked about the second one was the plot and the character development. Doc Oc wasn't really a bad guy. I didn't really dislike him and hope that Spidey would get him. I actually felt sorry for him, which is kind of annoying for the main bad guy in the movie. Well, then there's the third movie, which was really really bad. And I mean really bad. It's soo bad that I won't even buy it, which is saying a lot coming from me!
He-Man:
Cartoon - Yes, another one from my childhood. I remember liking this cartoon and wishing that I was He-man. I think I thought it was cool just to yell, "By the powers of Grayskull, I Have the power!" or something like that.
Movie - Ahhhh, yes. He he, this was by far one of the cheesiest movies, ever! But I liked it. Nothing wrong with Dolph Lundren and Courtney Cox making a movie together. This is also another movie that I'm waiting for Hollywood to make a sequel. It could be pretty interesting.
Well, those are all that I can remember. Hmmm... if I can think of more maybe I'll write about them. There is one cartoon I'm waiting for a movie for. That is Zelda. Come on, you know you'd go see it. If they can make a Mario Brothers, Doom, Resident Evil, Silent Hill and Double Dragon into movies, they can turn Zelda into one. It could be really interesting and it could turn out to be pretty good. So, we'll have to wait and see.
Cartoon vs. Movie - The Real One part 1.
Sorry, after the title I hit Enter and apparently that publishes the post. Oh well. Anywho, Perrotti suggested this topic for me to post about and it's basically just comparing cartoons to their movies and what I think about them.
Transformers:
Cartoon - Now, the first two seasons of the transformers cartoon were really good. I remember enjoying the show and the characters. I got the toys and I had transformers clothes(probably just underwear, but whatever). Now, my sophmore year in college and friend of mine brought up a box of tapes that he had made of tv shows and he had a few of transformers, so we would sit around on a saturday afternoon and watch a few episodes so the episodes are a little bit more fresh in my mind. So, like I said before the first two seasons of the show were great. But then they made the mistake of having a season 3. What annoyed me was that all of the new autobots and decepticonz all came together and formed bigger robots. That just seemed stupid and annoying and they all had weird colors that I didn't like. Also, they had Optimus Prime come back and he was a bad guy or something. I don't know, it just seemed kinda stupid, but that's just me.
Cartoon Movie - By far THE BEST CARTOON MOVIE EVER! I'm not kidding you. This movie was amazing! I could watch it any day. What I liked best about this was that they actually killed off characters! Not only that, but they killed of Optimus Prime. You're going to tell me that that wasn't the most shocking moment in movie history? Who goes and kills off the leader & most popular character of a show and do it out of nowhere? And the new characters they added in where awesome too! They had that guy who spoke really fast do the voices of the new characters. Plus, the soundtrack was great! They had the hair metal version of the theme song. There was that Weird Al song, Dare to be stupid. Man, just great. Lastly, I think Leonard Semor(can't spell. the guy that played Spok). You just can't go wrong with this movie.
Movie - Now, this past summer Hollywood finally came out with the live action movie. It was really good. I thought the special effects were good and they didn't go overboard on it. The human characters were pretty good and the plot was solid. I'm becoming a Shia Lebleof fan and I thought he did a good job in this movie. Plus, the chick he liked was hot. Really hot. The one thing that I missed, though, was that they didn't have Soundwave in the movie. He is by far my favorite Transformer. Hopefully he'll be in the second movie when it comes out in 2009/2010.
G.I. Joe:
Cartoon - When I was growing up I wanted to be one of two things. Either the Karate Kid or a G.I. Joe. This cartoon was just great. Yeah, I know that the characters were pretty stereotypical, but I didn't know any better! All I cared about was G.I. Joe saving the world, even though they really couldn't shot anyone(honestly, if you're suppose to be elite soldiers, you'd think you get at least lucky once in a while and hit someone in the head!). I think I've seen all of the episodes except for one and I swear, every time that episode is on I miss it. Ugghhh.
Cartoon Movie - This movie ranks just behind the Transformers movie. It was great because they turned Cobra Commander into a snake. Made one of the Joe's blind. I think Duke almost died. It was just amazing, but I probably need to watch it again. I think I remember some new species with animals or something like that. It's been a while people. I just remember I liked the movie, just not as much as the cartoon or the Transformers movie.
Movie - Yeah, this movie hasn't come out yet, but I'm still looking forward to watching it. I'm excited that Ray Park is going to play Snake Eyes. For those of you not familiar with Ray Park, he was Darth Maul and he played Toad in the first X-Men movie. I think they just began filming the movie now so we'll have to wait for the trailer and then the movie. Hopefully it'll be on par with Transformers.
X-Men:
Cartoon - I'm not going to write about the comic because that would take years, just the tv show that was on Fox. This was probably the best cartoon that I've watched. I liked it better than transformers and gi joe. It's probably because they destroyed shit and then cut people up. They had great characters like Wolverine and Gambit and Rogue and Professor X. And the bad guy were great. And also they had the Sentinels! It was just an all around great show and there was no way that after school I would miss an episode. I don't care if you need one more for baseball, I'm watching this show!
Movie - Unfortunately none of the three movies lived up to the cartoon. The first movie was entertaining but it was pg. Eh, it should have been at least pg-13. The second movie was the best and the third movie was okay but the ending was dumb. I'm sorry but there's no way wolverine could just walk up and kill the Phoenix. No way. Of course, I did like that they killed off Cyclops. He was a bitch. But, I thought they screwed up some of the characters for the movie. They didn't have Gambit, which was the biggest mistake. They made Rogue to be a 15 year old chick. Plus they didn't have the Sentinels! WTF? How did these mistakes slip through? Well, they're coming out with Origin movies so that could be pretty sweet. First up is Wolverine. I'm hoping they do more because there are soooo many characters in the Marvel universe. Only time will tell.
Batman:
Cartoon - This movie ranks right behind the X-men. I thought they did a great job with the plot of the show and the episodes were usually great. I liked how they went with the Joker and that they gave him a side kick. The episodes with Robin weren't annoying, which is really good. It was also nice when they had special guests in the show.
Movie - Well, these movies were either hit or miss. I liked the first batman, batman forever, and the new batman. The Dark Knight looks like it's going to rock and I can't wait for the other ones. Batman Returns was too dark for me. I don't know, I just wasn't a fan of what they did with the penguin. I thought the cartoon penguin was better. Sorry, Danny. Then there was Batman & Robin, probably the second worst movie made about a cartoon(after catwoman). I'm upset I've seen it, though I hope that they have Bane in the new batman movie and do the storyline where Bane breaks Batman's back. They also need to do the "A Death in the Family" story line where the Joker kills Robin. Those are two of my favorite storylines with Batman and could be done really well in movies. Or really really bad.
Well, I've run out of time for now. I'm going to continue tomorrow with the rest that I can remember, he he.
Transformers:
Cartoon - Now, the first two seasons of the transformers cartoon were really good. I remember enjoying the show and the characters. I got the toys and I had transformers clothes(probably just underwear, but whatever). My Rant
Yeah, I decided to go with my rant about saved by the bell. I understand that it is 15 years too late, but whatever! Better late than never. Maybe tomorrow I'll post the topic that perrotti suggested. We'll just see how things go, ha ha. Also, less than a week until I start my amazing job at the dish network.
Okay, the biggest complaint that I have about the show is the whole Jesse & Kelly disappear for like 8 episodes in their senior year with no mention of them leaving and then they just return for the last episode where they graduate. WTF? Hello, can anyone explain this too me? Please. Then they bring in Tory and just expect us to roll with this? I don't think so! None of this makes any sense! You don't think Zak would have missed Kelly being around at all? Weren't they dating again during their senior year? Wouldn't Zak miss his gf? Wouldn't Kelly be upset about him dating Troy? And then in the last episode of the season when they graduate, there's no Tory? What happened, did she get shipped off to Valley? I just wish someone would write me and explain everything. Is that sooo hard? Jeez!
The next thing that annoyed me was how quickly they got rid of minor characters. You'll always have those nerds that kept on showing up, but whatever. What I'm talking about is Jeff, Slater's sister, Jesse's brother in law, Violet, that hot nurse that Zack hit on. Most of them lasted maybe 1-2 episodes. I think Violet was maybe in like 3 or 4 episodes. Come on, Screech has never dated a girl before and some how he gets Tory Spelling to fall in love with him. Don't you think he would have missed her at all? Don't you think he would have spent a month wondering how he could get her back at all? I'm pretty sure that he would have been depressed for like 2 months wondering why the girl of his dreams, and David Silverman's, dumped his sorry butt and moved to 90210! I know I would have since I was crushed for like a week when I found out some chick I had a crush on was dating someone else! I would have loved an episode of Screech pouring his heart out to Zack on the phone about how much he wanted Violet to tickle his pickle and then they could have come up with some dumb way of getting her back. Oh well.
I think that the writers had hit a jackpot when they had Jeff steal Kelly away from Zack. That was just great and I commend them for breaking up the "greatest couple ever". But did they had to shut down the Jeff & Kelly couple after one episode? Really, did they? You don't think they could have run with it for a few episodes and then gradually hint that Jeff was getting some action on the side when he was too busy for the sock hop? Oh well.
And what about Slater's sister? They spent most of that episode with Slater dealing with his anger issues about Zack dating his sister and then he agreed that they could date. And then what happens? Next episode she's gone! Couldn't they have added her in for the rest of the time? Would that have killed them to have another hot girl on the show? Would it have? Oi vey!
Honestly, I wasn't really upset about Jesse's brother in law leaving. Really, the only part of the first episode that I would watch was when they talked about the Mets game. Other than that I really didn't care. It just goes along with the producers killing off minor characters for no reason.
The last example is when Zack dated that wrestler chick and Jesse thought she was going after Slater. WTF? Why can't they keep a new female character? Is that too hard to do? Oh well, by the next episode Zack was dating some other girl, and most probably he was back with Kelly. How many times were the on and off? I'll put that at like 4 times.
Lastly what bothers me is when they would have something big happen and then kill it in the next episode. The one that always comes to mind with me is the one episode when Lisa & Zack dated when she was trying to put on a fashion show to get into college. Screech slipped out, ripped Zack's shirt, and then stormed out because he was pissed. Then, some how at the end Zack and Screech become friends again. WHAT?????? Tell me in what real life situation would you watch your best friend date a girl you were crazy about since you were 4 and be okay with it after the commercial break? Really, where in the world would this happen? I'll tell you where. No where! And the best part about it? Zack and Lisa aren't dating anymore after it! Just perfect. Well, that's about all I can come up for now. Maybe more later.

If you knew then what you knew now... Part 1
This is a topic I thought about like a month ago while I was eating breakfast before work and I was watching tv. An episode of saved by the bell was on when they all worked or stayed at that beach resort for the summer. Zak fell in love with the owner's daughter(who turned out to end up being the wife on King of Queens and I can't remember her name at all) and the AC Slater was being stalked by some random person who turned out to be Denise Richards. Yeah, you remember. So, that got me to thinking, if they writers/producers/directors knew then what we know now would they have kept these two girls on after the summer episodes? Actually, Denise was only on one episode and that was the last one(well, before they went to Hawaii for Jesse's dad's wedding). If you look at what happened on SBTB during their senior year they had Kelly and Jesse dissapear for no good reason half way through the season and had Tory replace them both. Now, I don't know about you, but has anyone seen Tory in anything lately? Anyone? Anyone? Didn't think so. You're telling me that they couldn't have pulled something off where half way through the year, exactly when Jesse & Kelly get off they couldn't have had both of those girls showed up as students to follow their loves? Huh, is this sooo crazy? I just think they could have had a much better show with those two girls replacing Tory. Or, even if they had kept Kelly & Jesse on you'd still have a pretty good, except huge cast. Personally, I think they would have made the run with cutting Kelly & Jesse and running with the new girls. I think later I'll go with an article about things about SBTB that annoyed me. He he.

Friday
Well, it's Friday and I'm happy. I'm getting ready for my keeper league draft on Sunday. It should be interesting. One bit of interesting entertainment note I wanted to pass on. In the new Wolverine movie Gambit will be in the movie. Now, it's about time they had Gambit in one of the X-men movies. I grew up watching the X-men cartoon on fox. I LOVED that cartoon. It was awesome and then I went out and played the video games for the X-men. Wolverine will always be my favorite X-men character, but Gambit will always be a close second. I wish that they had put him into the movies and I'll never understand why they didn't. When you think of most people who went to those movies, I'll bet 90% of them watched the cartoon growing up. Well, he'll finally be able to be on the big screen when Wolverine comes out. Let's hope he's in it for a lot and he gets to blow some stuff up with his cards. Only time will tell.

Can you hear it?
Can you hear it? Can you smell it? Can you see it coming? I bet you're wondering what I'm talking about, eh? Well, it's the start of the baseball season!

Happy Hump Day
So, it's Wednesday. One of our servers went down today so I've been "on lunch" since 11:10. I'm suppose to be working now that the server, I think, is back up but all of the sales reps went to lunch so I get an extra 50 minutes of break today, ha ha. I was thinking about saying something, but eh, I won't.
So last night I got to watch another amazing episode of Jericho. I really love how this season is shaping up. The writers have done a great job with the storyline and keeping everything going. I really hope they bring the show back for a 3rd season, or at least extend this season. Unfortunately there's only 2 episodes left, which blows. There are only 8 episodes for season 2 and the first two episodes didn't really FEEL like a Jericho episode. Don't get me wrong, they were good I just felt like they were something else. I was getting back into the show and I wasn't having the feeling that I had from the first season. Luckily they were able to get back to what makes Jericho great. That seems kind of hard on the first couple episodes but I felt that the first two episodes were just how the characters felt. It was an emotional mess because of everything that had just happened in the show, which is understandable. Sadly, I'm going to miss the show and when this season is over I'm going to have to live with not knowing the fate of one my favorite shows! And I swear, if they cancel the show I'm going to send 1 ton of peanuts to the show so they'll put it back on again!

Tuesday Lunch Boredom
Sorry about not writing yesterday but it was a hectic day with both the HR league draft going on and also trying to pull off a trade and trying to make people understand how it was legal. For all of those who are interested this is what was suppose to happen with the trade. I was going to trade Pujols & my first round pick (#6) to Bagley for Manny & his #1 pick(would have been Ryan Howard). Apparently Bagley didn't understand that he would have to have Pujols as one of his keepers so that blew up. It would have been great for me 'cause I would have kept Manny, Wright, Beltran & then drafted Howard 1st overall. You're telling me that's not an outstand core of guys to have on your team? Oh well, enough with that dream.
Last night I watched the season finale of October Road. In it, Nick, the main character's agent came and offered him a job to travel with U2 on their world tour and write about it. First off, this show is awesome. It's definitely gaining strength on my list of tv shows out now. Secondly, and the point of this article, who played his agent? None other than Bill Belamy. You know, I'm probably the only white guy to say this, but I really like Bill Belamy as an actor/comedian. He's really funny and I've enjoyed his movies & tv shows. So, I decided to dedicate this entry to all of the actors who are amazing but do not get the recognition they deserve.
In no particular order:
#1. Bill Belamy - How could I not start with the person who was the reason I thought of this? I remember when Bill Belamy was on mtv. He was one of the hosts for MTV's Beach House. I remember him on that and thought he was pretty funny. The he did 3 movies that I really enjoyed, How to be a player, Any given sunday, and Buying the cow. Now, most people won't know about Buying the cow, but that movie is soooooooooooooo funny. I've watched it sooooo many times and I still laugh at the same spots. I mean, how can you go wrong with Bill, Jerry O'Connell, Ryan Reynolds, Ron Livingston, Allysa Malanothe chick who was Mary the paralegal from How I Met Your Mother, and Pete Samprass' wife? It was awesome. Then he did the tv show Fastlane which lasted 1 season, but I really enjoyed it. And then he shows up on October Road and was really good. Why he's not making blockbuster movies with Will Smith, I do not know.
#2. Rob Schneider - Yes, most people know who he is, I get that. But it's not like he's the star of blockbuster movies making $300 million at the box office, is he? Watch him in the Hot Chick or any of his guest starring roles in any Adam Sandler movie and you'll know what I'm talking about. This guy is soooooooooo frackin' funny! Also, he really deserved to win an oscar for the Hot Chick. I don't know any guy out there who would have played a 17 year old hot girl any better. So please, the next time you see a Rob Schneider movie is coming out, go see it. You'll laugh. I promise.
#3. The guy who played Chunk in Goonies - Need I say more? Why this guy became an entertainment lawyer and didn't act in more movies is beyond me! I still can't stop laughing from the truffle shuffle. Ha ha.
#4. Eric Christian Olsen - Right now you're thinking, who is this guy? Which is exactly why he deserves to be on this list! Now to shed some light on the situation, he played the tall, thin, blonde German brother in Beerfest. (Ahhhhhhhh, I can hear everyone realize who he is now). Now here are some of the other movies that he's done a really good job in: License to Wed, The Hot Chick, the Last Kiss, Cellular, Dumb & Dumberer(he played Lloyd), Not Another Team Movie, & Pearl Harbor. I also enjoyed the character her played on 24. Okay, so he was in like 2 episodes during season 2, who cares! He played Mason's son who he got to see just before he died. It was touching.
Well, I'm just beginning on this list. I'll be adding more people to this list as I can think of them. Feel free to leave any that you think belong here.

BSG
So, here is my entry about Battlestar Galactica that I meant to post yesterday, but because of time(lunch was over) and my mind(that tangent) I couldn't fit it in how I wanted to. So here it is.
This is the backstory. Apparently humans were created and lived on this one planet. For some reason that I can't remember they split up into 12 colonies. With the advancement in technologies humans created robots to do their dirty work, called Cylons. Just like in Terminator the robots revolt and there is a huge war that goes on. The cylons used the networks in the ships against the humans and were able to start winning the war. Finally a peace agreement is reached and the cylons go away. Before they leave there is a outpost that is set up for the cylons and humans to meet once a year and talk about things. Well, the cylons don't show up for 40 years. Now, the main ships in the star fleet are called Battlestars. The story takes place on the day that the Galactica is going to be retired. Now, the Admiral of the Galactica is Adama. After the war he disabled all networking on his battlestar because he saw how the cylons used it against them. So, on this day the cylons decide to return and completely destroy the human race. But the thing with the cylons is they no longer look like your typical robot. They now look human(just like in the Terminator), but with these cylons when you kill one of them they don't disappear, their "soul" or memory is automatically sent to another body and they start off as if they didn't die but hit the restart button. Now, the cylons really didn't return the day the series starts, they had returned a while ago only no one could tell because they look and act human. In fact, many of the cylons that are in the human population don't even know they are a cylon until they're activated.
After the attack by the cylons most of the human civilization is gone. In fact, there is less that 50,000 humans left. In fact, the person who is then becomes president is the person who's in charge of education for the president because everyone above her is killed. So, you can see that the human race is in a bad shape.
What I love about this show is that it's not all special effects. It's not like the remake of War of the Worlds where the story sucked and didn't really make much sense but the SE were pretty cool, the story and character development are really great. I've been really impressed with how much ease it took me to get into the series, enjoy the story telling, how strongly I've liked or hated certain characters and also the cliff hangers that they put out there in the series. The writers have done an awesome job. Also, don't get me wrong, the SE for this show are really great. What I like is that it doesn't look cheesy or too unrealistic. It's not like the animals or bad guys in I am Legend where you can tell that it's all CGI stuff. The star ships look cool and I like how the smaller starfighters work in space. It took me a little bit to get how they worked because i was sooo used to how X-Wings, Y-Wings & TIE Fighters flew in Star Wars.
So, now I am preparing for season 3. I've heard that it's the favorite season for some people. Honestly, it's hard to say which season is best so far(even though I've only watched 2) as they're both really really great so I have high hopes for season 3. And then I'll be onto season 4. I can't wait.

TV & Baseball
So, today I decided to write about two things. TV & Baseball. Couldn't you tell? Like I had said yesterday, I finished season 2 of Battlestar Galactica on my sick day and I'm about to embark on season 3 and then season 4, when it starts again on tv. Here is a list of my favorite shows right now, rated Most to least favorite:
1. 24
2. How I Met Your Mother
3. Jericho
4. Battlestar Galactica
5. The Big Bang Theory
Honestly, if I was to give a numbers rating on how much I enjoyed these shows out of a possible 100 points, here's what they would get
1. 24 - 99
2. HIMYM - 97
3. Jericho - 96
4. Battlestar Galactica - 95
5. The Big Bang Theory - 94.5
See, they're all really close to each other and in the next year or so I could see these things change. With these tv shows I tend to get into them in one of two ways, either from the first episode or a few seasons in. With 24 and BSG I got into them a few seasons in. With the rest I've been watching them since the beginning and both are two completely different feelings. Getting into a show a few seasons in is kind of a safe way to get into a show, but can end up causing withdrawal. What has happened to me is I'll watch a show randomly, like the show and then continue to watch. What's nice with this approach is that I can go back and watch all of the seasons whenever I feel like it because I'll most likely have it on dvd. This is where the addiction happens. You get so used to just watching an episode or two or four whenever you feel like it that when you finally catch up, or the next season isn't out on dvd yet you don't know what to do. You're so used to watching it at will that you take it for granted. Then a day passes and you haven't watched an episode and you're okay. Then day two hits and you can feel the need to watch a new episode, but there aren't any. By day 4 you've become aggitated because the withdrawal has hit. You can't take it anymore and you need to yell at someone to make the next season come out NOW! And boy does it suck. One thing that has helped me a little bit is to talk with other fans of the show. But, if you need to watch the past season on dvd, make sure to tell them so they don't spoil anything!
Now, with the other shows on the list I've watched these from the beginning. This is a completely different feeling. Honestly, it feels like you started to date a girl who's way hotter than you. You just feel in your gut that someday she's going to realize that she's better off without you and leave you. So, you enjoy all the time with her and things are going well. Then you get a phone call and she says she needs to talk to you. You know in your heart that it's over and you nervously meet her to have "the talk". That's what it's like to love these shows. See, I know they're amazing and there are probably a bunch of people out there that agree, but for some reason or another it seems that not enough people do and that the show's going to get cancelled. So, when the tv execs announce their new line up for the next season you get nervous. You know they want to have "the talk" but you're not sure if it's going to be "Let's take it to the next level" or the "I just realized how Hot I am and you're not" talk. Oh please be the first one!
So anywho, I got off on another tangent, but at least it was about tv! Well, BSG was in the first scenario. I've heard about the show before, but I never followed it. I think I tried watching an episode but I didn't know what was going on(one problem when dealing with the first scenario). I remember being at a poker game with some friends and a friend left early to go watch the show. I didn't understand at that time, but I do now. Of course, the friend should have been smart enough to get a dvr. I talked to my older cousin last year about it. He said he really liked it so that sat in the back of my mind. Well, finally my roommate borrowed the first two seasons from one of his friends. I got back once from work and he was watching the pilot mini-series. I sat down and now I'm hooked. I'm starting to go through withdrawal, but luckily for me my roommate downloaded 2/3 of season 3 onto his computer and I can start watching them before it comes out on dvd and then season 4 starts at the end of March/Early April. I promise I'll go into more depth of this tv show and what I think about it tomorrow. I went on that tangent and I'm running out of time before lunch is up.
So, yesterday Jim and I had our co-owned fantasy baseball draft. It was a 12 team, head to head league. We were graced with the 9th pick in the draft. Not too bad, I think. Well, with our first pick we still had Prince Fielder, Utley, Santana, & Ryan Braun available. What I've come to realize in these random leagues with people I don't know is that anything can happen and it usually does. For instance, Matt Holliday was taken 3rd. Nothing against him, but do you really take him over David Wright, Jose Reyez or Miguel Cabrera? I didn't think so. So, with the first pick I took Santana. What I was hoping was that these people would be dumb and let Braun fall to me with my second pick. And it almost happened. He was taken right before me. At this point in the draft I realized three things. First off, I don't know any of these guys. Secondly most of these people probably will stop checking on their team one month into the season. Lastly, I really wanted to have a crazy team. So, with that in mind I took Peavy with my second pick. Then I got even more creative and I took Beckett with my 3rd pick. But, I finally got back to normal after that and here are the rest of the picks
4. Hafner
5. Pence
6. Hart
7. Harang
8. Hawpe
9. Kendrick
10. Beltre
11. Thome
12. Chad Cordero
13. Jason Izzy
14. Khalil Greene
15. Soto(catcher for cubs)
16. Harden
17. Jay Bruce
18. B.J. Ryan
19. Ankiel
20. Randy Johnson
21. Iwamura
I think the team is pretty interesting. What I like about these teams is that it really doesn't matter what happens because of the first two points. It lets me take players I normally would not take. I took some gambles (pitcher in the first 3 rounds, Jay Bruce, Ankiel, Ryan, Johnson) but I think our team can still complete and I know we'll at least win wins, era, whip, K's every week. Now we just have to work on the rest. Ha ha.
1. 24
2. How I Met Your Mother
3. Jericho
4. Battlestar Galactica
5. The Big Bang Theory

It feels like Tuesday
I know, I know, you're sad that I didn't post anything yesterday. Sorry, but I was sick. I called out sick and didn't do much yesterday. This is the first time I've called out sick since I had mono. Amazingly enough. So, I stayed home and I was able to catch up on the real world-road rules challenge. Very entertaining. I also watched the season finally of the Terminator tv show. I'm going to write a post about this later in the week. Then I watched a bunch of episodes from season two of Battlestar Galactica. I'll also have an entry about this, about my thoughts so far after the first two seasons, my predictions and other things. Yes, yes, I know that season 3 has finished and is going to be released at the end of the month, and that season 4 starts in April, so this will be a little late, but that's the thing with my blog. I write late about stuff. Deal with it, ha ha. But honestly, I love this show. And it got better from season 1 to season 2, not saying 1 was bad at all, cause 1 was awesome, its just that 2 was better. Just a little bit. I've heard from people that 3 is better than that. Sort of like 24. So, what I'm hoping is that season 4 is amazing and they end it like that! Maybe a movie or something to rap everything up, but 24 went downhill after season 4. I also played a bunch of nhl 2008. So, I had a lazy day rehabbing from my cold and I'm feeling better today. I should be clear headed for tonight's draft! My team's gonna rock! And lastly, I'm worried a little bit about an article that I read about Carlos Beltran. It looks like he's still recovering from surgery he had in October on both knees. Apparently he can only run in a straight line and can't stop and turn. He's also learning how to slide again. Hopefully he'll get well soon. The mets and my keeper league is hanging on it!

Exodus
Well, I'm going to keep this one short. It's Monday, I'm tired, and I'm sick, which really really sucks. ha ha. So, here it goes. I guess this is what you're suppose to expect after winning the super bowl. Players decide to go to other teams in free agency because they've become too expensive to keep, which really sucks. So far the G-men have lost 3 players, which isn't too bad, but they could end up losing a bunch more. I wasn't too sad that Reggie Torbor left. He didn't really do that much. I didn't think of him as a crucial part of the team and he could be replaced with someone in free agency or the draft. I was sad that Gibril Wilson left. I liked him since his rookie year. He played hard and did a decent job. He was a little injury plagued during his time with the giants, but over all I'll miss him from our defense. I think the one player that hurt the most was Kavika Mitchell. I didn't know too much about this guy until the end of the season until he started seeing a lot of playing time, but he was great. I couldn't believe how fast he was and how quickly he would get on people. I think Tom Brady is going to hate that he went to the Bills 'cause now he's going to get killed by him at least 2 times a season. I wish the Giants had made a play to keep him, but he probably got too expensive to keep. Which sucks. But, we still have a majority of the key players from our team last year. Hopefully we can keep it up. I can't wait for the weekend.
