The End is the Beginning is the End

So it's been 364 days since I've started this blog and there have been some very good chats that we've had over the time. I'm really surprised that it lasted this long because of how lazy I am but I'm pretty proud of how much I've written. We had some good discussions along the way that were a lot of fun and I've enjoyed hearing everyone's oppinion. I also like being right about A-rod, even with what's going on now with him, he he.

But, with all good things, they must come to an end. I am sad to say that I will be ending this blog for the time being. It's not that I don't want to write it it's just that I find myself with less and less time and instead of this blog being something fun that I enjoy writing in I find it more of a chore that I'm trying to fit into my life. I don't really think this would be fair to it so that is why I am ending it. It was a fun time chatting with everyone about our lives, most about sports, and reading what you guys think and making fun of each other. When I first started this my job was boring and I had internet access at my desk. When I changed jobs I had an hour long lunch that still enabled me to write as much as I was before. But, unfortunately things changed and I only had a half hour lunch which surprisingly kept me away from writing at work, which seemed to lower my production in writing over the past few months.

Now, I'm not saying that the blog is over for good because, well I am looking for a new job but I'm also applying for another position at work that may allow me to have more time to write more here and put better effort into this here blog. And believe me, if that day comes along I will definitely let everyone know. So, until then I guess we will have to catch up via other means, like the phone or more likely, facebook, ha ha. I do have some good ideas for things that I would like to write about but I will wait until the time that I start writing again.

So, I guess we were all wrong about the Super Bowl. It definitely started out as a crap fest and it seemed that the Steelers were going to run away with it but then the Cardinals turned it around and made it seem like they could pull it off. I was really hoping that the Cardinals would have won and it would have been amazing but whatever. The ending was very similar to the Giants win only I was happy that the Giants won, ha ha. I still think Larry Fitzgerald should have been the mvp but oh well.

Well, I'm happy that the Mets were able to sign Oliver Perez. I was a little worried about what was going to happen but they finally put everything together. I do like our starting rotation of Santana, Maine, Pelfrey, Perez and whoever gets the fifth spot. I wonder if the Mets will go after Ben Sheets? Can't hurt, could it? I definitely wouldn't give him a 4 year deal like we did for Pedro but a 2 year deal wouldn't be bad. I thought I read on espn that the Mets had expressed interest in Abreau, which wouldn't be a bad signing. It would be a pretty good lineup of Reyes, Abreau, Beltran, Wright, Delgado, Church/Tatis, Castillo, Schneidder, Pitcher. I'd be pretty happy with that line up and that could put us as the favorite to win the NL East. We'll see what happens.

Super Bowl Stuff

Yeah, so I lied and I'm a little late on this but hey, better late than never, right? Just a couple things real quick before some super bowl stuff. Well, I have another interview for Monday. I don't know too much about this company but they pay more and I'd love to get out of Dish. Actually, I just don't want to do the tech stuff anymore, ha ha. I'm actually applying to another position at Dish that would get me off the phones too and if I get that I think I'll stay. But only time will tell. If the interview goes well and I take the job I'm going to tell them I need 2 weeks(partially because I'm going to the US-Mexico game on Feb 11th and a friend's coming into town and I took that day and the day after off) so that I'll have some time to interview to see if I can get that job. We'll see what happens.

I'm thinking that Torre's burned his bridges with the Yankees now. I don't understand the move, it really makes no sense unless he's really really pissed off. It'll be interesting to see what happens in the future but I don't think he'll be invited back to Yankee stadium after he retires. Well, it may take him a long, long time.

Now, onto Super stuff. I think the Cardinals are going to win and in fact this is a completely biased opinion because I really really hate the Steelers. They're in the top 5 teams I hate in the NFL(really quickly, #1. Patriots, #2. Cowboys, #3. Eagles, #4. Steelers, #5. Redskins). But, I also like the Cardinals offense and I think it'll give the Steelers a lot of problems. It really doesn't matter if the Steelers can stop the run with the Cardinals because they're a pass first team. I think Larry Fitzgerald is going to have a HUGE game like he's done all postseason long and the Cardinals will use him and Warner all day long. Plus, I think people underrate the Cardinals Defense. It's really not that bad in a warm weather environment, which alas, they are. I think they'll shut down the Steelers offense and will pull away in the end. I think they win 24-6 with either Fitzgerald or Warner winning MVP.

Wednesday Night

I don't think the Mets will go after Manny because we're worried about pitching. We definitely need to sign Perez. I read something on ESPN that the Mets have upped their offer but it won't be the 4 year $60 mil that D-Lowe got, and I think that's okay with me. I think he'll get something like 3 year $35 mil or 4 year $50 mil. But I could be wrong, ha ha. I also read that we're thinking of Ben Sheets as an alternate but we'll see. Maybe after the Mets have gotten the pitching under wraps they'll go after Manny but I don't think it'll be anytime soon. I think Manny might actually be signed by the end of the week.

I'm not sure who I think will win the Super Bowl yet. I'm leaning towards the Cardinals but I haven't made up my mind yet. Of course I'm completely biased and I really can't think that the Steelers will win. Don't worry I'll get some more Super Bowl stuff this week, before Friday so we can talk about it.

Well I got an email for a second interview for the dispatcher position but I decided not to do the second interview. It just didn't seem right and the benefits were bad so I didn't call them on Monday to set up a second interview. The funny thing is I got an email today saying that they were going with someone else. It made me laugh.

So, I feel bad for not saying anything about this yet but what does everyone think about Torre's book? Do you think he's stab the Yankees in the back for talking about things or do you think it's okay with what he's doing? I really have no problem with it and I don't think I'd find anything shocking with what he'll right. I don't think anyone's surprised about what he's written about A-rod. I think maybe later I'll read the book but it won't be anytime soon.

Weekend Update

I like the competition that's set up. It's seems interesting and I don't know who would win. I think they should also be set at one site, or at least if you have to switch sites do it after the noon break. Can this be filmed so those of us(me) who won't be there can watch afterwards? That would be nice and funny.

As for the updates on me. The job interview was blah. It was a group interview and I got to take the wonderlic test to see how my problem solving skills are. For those of you not familiar this is the test that college football guys take at the combine to see how their problem solving skills are. You have 50 questions to solve in 12 minutes. I got to question 38. Fun stuff. The job isn't that bad but they didn't say how much it would pay plus the benefits basically blow. I'm wondering if there is internet access so I could also update the blog more often. I got an email back on Friday to call on Monday to setup a second interview. I'm not sure if I will or not. They didn't say how much it would pay but I might do it just so I could take a half day this week, ha ha. I'll keep you updated.

My shoulder is feeling better. It was weird because my shoulder was really hurting me all week until I went to the dr to get it checked out. The dr said I was getting better and said I could stop taking medicine. My should still hurt on Thursday but it basically stopped bothering me on Friday. I thought that was strange.

I was upset that Buconn beat ND at home last night. ND I think has the hardest 5 games by any team this season. All big east teams and all team are ranked in the top 12. Yeah, not hard at all. Ugghhhh. I'm not a huge ND basketball fan but I do watch them and hope they can win. I was happy to see Charlie welcoming some junior football recruits to the game. I can't wait for the ND-Uconn rivalry to start this upcoming season. Should be easy wins for the Irish, ha ha.

Midweek Update

So, I guess it's Wednesday. Well, I can never tell what day it is. Every day feel like the same except for Sunday so I just tend to forget what day it is. Oh well. I go back to the dr tomorrow to get my shoulder re-evaluated. I'm pretty sure I'm headed for the 15 day dl retroactive to last wednesday, but we'll see. I may need to go onto the 60 day dl. My shoulder still hurts when I'm at work no matter how many meds I take which makes me feel wonderful! I do have an interview for another job tomorrow so I might be changing jobs if the offer is good enough. Basically I'd be happy with making around as much as I do now plus getting the holidays off. Is that too much to ask? Is it? I don't think so. I'd be happy if I got some of them off, unlike where I'm at and I get no holidays off. I'll keep you posted. I'm thinking I'll probably have to keep searching, though. I just have a bad feeling.

I read on deadspin that this year's superbowl ticket prices are going to the be the lowest in a while. I laughed when I read that. I'm not surprised though being as it's the Cardinals and the Steelers. I still think it'll be a good superbowl though and I'm hoping the Cardinals win. How is the ticketnetwork football club going? Do you guys win games or still lose most of them?

I must say that I'm happy that we're keeping the fantasy baseball league going. I think we should still do the home run league because I won it this past year and finished second the year before. Hopefully I'll run away with it again this up coming year. I think I will, ha ha.

The end of the week

So, it's sunday night and football is over for the month. And yes, I did get the most disturbing phone call of my life and surprise, surprise it was Jim's wife on the other line. I wasn't sure if alcohol was involved when this topic had been brought up or not but the question was asked and I did answer. I do find it funny that everyone picked Perrotti to get it from, ha ha. I couldn't think of anything else after watching battlestar galactica. Sadly I must say that I was a little disappointed, for the first time ever, by bsg. I do not like who the last cylon is and it makes no sense at all. Also, I was sad with the death that happened in the show. It came out of nowhere and I was completely shocked by it. But, it was a great show just like what I expected.

Also, 24 came back last week. I dvr'd it and just watched it today but it was amazing. By far the best start since season 4. It had been lacking the past couple seasons but they definitely got it back on track. I'm looking forward to seeing what happens this season.

I'd also like to give a quick funny story. On saturday at the gym I saw the greatest t-shirt ever. There was a girl who had a dolphins jersey/t-shirt with #5 Finkel. I almost walked over to the girl and asked if I could take a picture of the back of her shirt but I was too scared. Now I wish I did.

So, in the Superbowl we will have the Cardinals and the Steelers. The great offense against the great defense or, the okay defense versus the okay offense. It'll be an interesting superbowl match up and I'm hoping that the Cardinals win because I don't think I could stand a Steelers win. Uggghhh. Well, later on this week and next week I'll be doing some super bowl posts and also talking about some baseball as spring training is only a couple weeks away! I can't wait.

Okay okay, it's been a little while. Probably longer than I like, but whatever. We got the winter storm stuff going on here. It snowed today and we got 5" which makes it impossible to go anywhere since the plowing blows here. I think there's only like 4 maybe 5 plows for the whole city. And I don't think I'm exagerating. I also had a fun time leaving work today because, of course, they didn't shovel the sidewalk. So, as I was stepping off the sidewalk to our parking lot area I slipped and fell and I hit my head hard and banged my right shoulder harder. I've been taking meds since I came home but they're not really working. I'm thinking tomorrow is going to suck, ha ha. I can't wait, especially since it's suppose to be 5 degrees outside in the morning.

Has anyone seen the new Wendy's commercials about the 3conomics? I think they're pretty funny. I just saw a new one where two of the guys keep on saying Fact. It made me laugh.

Well, the Braves got D-Lowe, which stinks but is also okay because they forked out 4 years $60 mil. He's not a bad pitcher and would have been nice on the Mets staff, but he's also 36 years old and there's no way I'd want the Mets to sign him for 4 years. Just too long. I think I would have been happy with 2 years $20 mil. It's nice to see the Braves over pay for D-Lowe but don't even try to resign Smoltz. That was smart. I'm not sure who else is out there for the Mets to sign besides O-Perez. I wonder if they're confident in their young pitchers?

Well it's Sunday night and I don't want to go to work tomorrow. Mostly because today sucked because of the Giants game. It was completely horrible and if something could go wrong it did. This was another game in which the Giants really missed Plaxico, as much as I hate it. I really thought that they would be okay without him but I guess it shows how much of an elite WR and they're really going to have to look into it this offseason. I can't say it was all because of Plax, but definitely a large part. It definitely didn't help that Carney missed two field goals and that the giants turned the ball over on their last 4 possessions(two missed 4th downs and 2 turnovers). I have to hand it to the Eagles, they really turned it around. They made the second half adjustments and the giants didn't. I thought the D played well but the offense just couldn't get it together. It was a sad day for us giants fans. Well, hopefully we can correct our flaws in the offseason and next year we'll have Osi back. I hate waiting another season, though. I thought this team could go all the way again.

Well, why wouldn't Licata and his friends still do the keeper league? Did one of them not pay? I wasn't aware that Licata didn't want to do the keeper league anymore. Is that true? I would still like to do the keeper league and the home run league. Was there a problem with the money Malone? I wouldn't mind being commish of the keeper league but I wouldn't be real effective collecting money b/c I live out here in Ohio. One idea I was thinking was maybe we could open up something like a paypal account and then everyone could just put their money into that one? Just a thought. If there are problems getting the money(I know I'm not the greatest because, well I'm forgetful) I would understand if the leagues folded(what are we? the arena football league?) but I'd definitely like to continue doing both. And also the fantasy football league. If anyone has any other ideas on how we can setup and make the league run more efficiently please voice them.

One ugly day

Well, fun stuff that we all went 2-2. Sorry Malone, I'm only picking it one week at a time. I'll post my picks in a minute but I'd just like to bitch for a minute or two about my day, ha ha. Well, I guess it all started last night. I was driving home and I got pulled over by a cop. I wasn't speeding, I had my lights on, I had stopped at the stop light so I was confused about why I was being pulled over? Well, it appears that I had failed to pay my registration. Fun stuff. I totally thought I paid it and I remember going to the website to pay it but I guess I didn't. Soooo, I called out of work today, which I really didn't mind doing because we have manditory overtime, which blows. Well, the morning wasn't too bad. I went to the dmv and was out of there paid up and everything within 5 minutes(you know, people talk bad about the dmv and how long it takes to be there but that's never happened to me, ever. I've probably just jinxed myself but I've never had a horrible experience going there). So, I decided to go get my oil change and get my tires rotated. Well, I found out that the bolts on my wheels will probably all need to be replaced soon, so that was fun. So, I left from there and went home. As soon as I opened my door I could hear a hissing noise and there you go, a flat tire. So, I had to take all the crap out of my trunk, put on the spare and then drive and get it replaced. 1 hour later I was all set. What a fun day. I should have just stayed in bed.

So anywho, onto the picks.

AFC Game 1: Batlimore - Tennesse
This is going to be an interesting game. I'm really not convinced one team has a leg up in this game. Both teams have a good defense and very iffy offenses. I have to give the advantage on offense to the Titans because their running game is better and they have a veteran qb. The Jets don't have a great d so Shane Falco, I mean Joe Flacco had an easy game. I think he'll wilt under the pressure of the Titans d and they'll use that to their advantage. I think eventually the Titans offense will wear down the Ravens D and they'll be able to control the game. Final Score: Titans 24 - Ravens 6

AFC Game 2: San Diego - Pittsburgh
No team has been hotter than San Diego at the end of the season. They're just on fire. Does anyone remember when they were 4-8? I don't think so. But, there's one way to cool down a hot team from the nice, warm West Coast and that is to bring them to the East where it's going to be cold. And probably really really cold. I just think that the Steelers defense will be too much for the Chargers to handle and it'll be too cold out for them(i.e. Patriots game last season). I think this game will be interesting through most of the game but the Steelers will pull away and win handily. As much as I hate the Steelers and think Big Ben is overrated, I just think their D is too good for the Chargers. Steelers 31 - Chargers 17

NFC Game 1: Arizona - Carolina
I think this will be the highest scoring game of the post season. Both teams have offenses that can go. Arizona has a great passing game and an okay running game and Carolina has a great running game but an okay passing game. Carolina has a great d but the Giants showed that they can be beaten. I think this game will come down to who has the ball last. I think, because they're playing in a warmer area than if they were playing in NY, this will give the Cardinals what they need to pull it off. I think Kurt Warner has a huge game and the Cardinals take it. Cardinals 38 - Panthers 31

NFC Game 2: Philly - New York(N)
I'll tell you this, I was glad the Eagles won. I really was. I wanted this game really badly because there is no better way to say goodbye to Giants stadium than beating the Eagles. I think this game will be close, like all of their games are but with Brandon Jacobs back it gives the Giants all they need to take this game. I think Eli will have a good game and the running game will control the play. I think McNabb struggles and eventually implodes which leads to a good Giants win. The Eagles haven't given up a lot of points lately but that will change in this game. Giants 31 - Eagles 17

Malone, I don't know if I would like the Andruw Jones coming to NY. I read a report that Jones is in winter ball and looks worse than he did in the regular season. I think he actually ate himself out of the league. Apparently he's still striking out too much and is too much of a liability. The Mets won't have to pay a lot if they get him so it wouldn't be tooooooooo bad, but I'd still rather they didn't. I don't think he can turn it around, but of course, I could be wrong. Only time will tell what happens.

Playoff Weekend

Okay, sorry this is soooo late but whatever. It's time for the NFL playoffs and I love this year. I love it because A. the Patriots aren't in it and B. Neither are the Cowboys. You really couldn't ask for a better postseason. We have four games this weekend and here's what I think will happen.

Saturday:
Game 1: Atlanta Falcons vs. Arizona Cardinals - These two teams ended their season in opposite directions. The falcons were on fire at the end of the season doing pretty well to end the season and clinch a playoff spot after finishing at the bottom of the league last year. Would anyone have thought that the Falcons would have made the playoffs after last year? I don't think so. The Cardinals started the season off really strong and for most of the season I thought they were probably the team to beat. Then came the end of the season and it seemed that everyone found a way to beat them. I think they hit rock bottom with the Pats game. It was just ugly. As you can guess, I'm going with Atlanta to win this game. I think they've got more momentum going into this game and it'll help them in this game. The Cardinals look like they're done so I can see this game becoming a blowout if the Cardinals aren't too careful. Plus, it looks like they might not sell out this game, which is funny but sad at the same time. Final Score: Atlanta 31 Arizona 13

Game 2: Indianapolis Colts vs. San Diego Chargers - This is the best game on Saturday. The Colts started off slow but picked it up at the end of the season. Peyton won his third mvp trophy, especially because of what he did with all of the injuries on that team. They're dangerous and it'll be a good fight. The Chargers have really come on strong at the end of the season. They definitely have a chip on their shoulders after last year and I think it'll help them in this game. In fact, both of these teams really scare me and I don't know if I'd want the gmen to face either of these teams if they make it to the Super Bowl. Only time shall tell. Final Score: San Diego 38 Indy 35

Sunday:
Game 1: Baltimore Ravens vs. Miami Dolphins - Another good game. I don't know if it'll be high scoring or not but I must thank the Dolphins, or at least Brett Favre for getting the Pats out of the playoffs. Both teams are coming off of bad seasons last year to make it to the playoffs. The Ravens are still lead by their defense, but I don't know if that'll be enough. I was impressed by Flacco but he seemed to make too many rookie mistakes at the end of the season. This will help the Dolphins stack the line against them and make Flacco, or shall I say Falco make the plays. I was really surprised on how well the Dolphins played this year. 1 win last year to the division champs this year. Who would have thought it? You know what was one of the most surprising things to me about this year? It was the fact that Chad Pennington was second on the mvp race. That's right, Chad Pennington. I also love the wildcat formation they run. Falco on the road against a hungry team. Not a good sign. Dolphins 24 Ravens 10

Game 2: Philadelphia Eagles vs. Minnesota Vikings - Ummmm yeah, I don't think this game will be that close. The Eagles are on a roll. Has there ever been a season where a team is just about out of it, then goes on a roll, gets all the help they need, then blows their second to last game to be on the outside of the playoffs, only to get all the losses they need in the last week and win their game to make it? Has that ever happened? I don't think so. Definitely a weird ending. I don't think the Vikings are that good. The Gmen barely played their 1st string guys and had their 2nd and 3rd stringers in and lost by 1. Really, the Vikings don't stand a chance and I think the Eagles will win, BIG. Ealges 45 Vikings 3

Well Rob, I'm going to add some more thought on the playoffs this weekend so look for the updates. We can see how close I am to being right. After what's happened in College football I don't think any of the teams I pick will win. Ha ha.

Happy New Years

Well, it's officially January 1st. We're under 4 years until the end of the world(for those of you who are wondering, it's suppose to be December 21st, 2012. Well, accordingly to the Myan calendar and nostradomus it is. I'm stuck at work, again. Nothing better than working the hat trick, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years. Just amazing. Well, here's to a better year for everyone. Hopefully I can do a better job with the blog than I've done the last two months. I'm going to try and post something tomorrow about the NFL playoffs since they start on Saturday. It was a pretty crazy end of the season all around. Let's hope the G-men pull it off again.

End of the week

So, Christmas has passed and the new year is coming shortly, the football regular season is just about done. I must say that I'm pretty happy with the way that Notre Dame finished its season by crushing Hawai'i. In case you missed it my boy Jimmy Clausen broke the ND bowl record for yards in a game and td's in a game, by half time. Ha ha. He ended up breaking the passing completion record also. Plus Golden Tate went off again. Just like Clausen he broke the ND receiving records for yards and td's in a game. It was just crazy. Plus, the Irish returned their first kick off for a td in forever(I think it's like 2003, but I could be wrong). I think this is the end that the Irish needed to propel them into next season.

I'm just waiting for the last game to finish before I write about the postseason for the NFL. There's just one game to go and it will decide the AFC West. I think the best part about this season is the fact that the Patriots won't make it to the playoffs. That makes me feel sooooo much better, he he. Let's just hope that the Gmen go on another streak like last season. The three teams in the NFC who scare me the most are the Falcons(because of their running game), the Panthers(they took the gmen to OT) and the Eagles(because they've been on a pretty hot streak and they destroyed the Cowboys). Oh yeah, I also love the fact that Romo sucked in another high pressure game and the cowboys are out.

I have one last funny story to tell. I went out to Pizzaria Uno's last night for dinner. We sat in the bar and our waitress was wearing a Tony Romo jersey. I was thinking of something funny to say but nothing great came up(I thought of saying, after I ordered, "oh yeah, and I'll take an Eagles win tomorrow" but decided I didn't want spit on my food) so instead after I paid for for the meal I wrote on the bottom of the check, Go Eagles! He he.

It's Beginning To Look Alot Like Christmas

Malone, why did you go to bed? Once the defense stopped the Panthers that one time I knew we were still in the game. That's the great thing about the Giants, they just seem to be able to make changes pretty well. I've noticed that a lot about this team. That game was insane though. I almost died of a heart attack twice in overtime, the first time when we went 3 and out and the second time when McQuarters muffed the punt. Personally, I was happy that the team got back into the game. I would have been happy with a close loss because the Giants are pretty good at getting teams back in the playoffs, especially on the road(see 2007-08 playoffs). But I was floored after Ward broke off those three big runs in OT. Pretty crazy. Here's my question. Who is the Giants MVP? Is it Jacobs? Eli? Ward? Feagles? It's pretty hard to say.

Well, since it is Christmas time I've decided to post my favorite Christmas movies, in no particular order.

#1. Home Alone - You know, even to this day I can still watch this movie. Not sooo much the second one, which isn't bad, just not as good. I've never sat through all of the third or fourth ones and I never will. But this movie was just really put together well, the story was a little absurd but still I could buy it. My two favorite parts will always be the end when he sets up to defend the house and when Kevin orders pizza and uses the movie to scare the crap out of the delivery guy. Sadly I still laugh out loud during those parts. What can I say? I'm an 8 year old trapped inside a 29 year old's body.

#2. Die Hard 2 - This one just beats out the first one, but just because there were more references to Christmas and there was actually snow. The plot was good, the actions better and the lines by Bruce Willis were great. This is a tradition that I'd like to start where I watch at least the first two Die Hard movies during the Christmas time. But honestly, I'll probably watch all 4 because I like them. Plus, we all know there's going to be a fifth movie.

#3. The Office Christmas Special(BBC Version) - Ahhhh, the office. Probably one of the top 3 comedies of all time, especially when you combine the British and American versions. I will say that I do like the BBC version just a tiny bit more than the American one. For those of you who don't know, the BBC version only consisted of two seasons(both 6 episodes long) plus a holiday special that was to take place a few years after season two ended. It was Christmas time and everyone was invited back for a catch up. I think one side reason why I like it sooooo much is because I remember when I was out in London for the Christmas-New Years in 2004(just before I started working at TicketNetwork) and one night before I fell asleep I was watching tv and BBC was running their list of the top 100 Christmas moments and the moment at the very end of the special was in the top 5. I must say that I do miss London and I can't wait to go back someday.

#4. All of those short Christmas clay figure movies - You know, the ones about Santa and Rudolph and frosty and anything to do with Christmas. I can still watch those at any time. I also like the cartoon one for How the Grinch Stole Christmas. These are just great movies that I can watch during this time. Not sooo much during the summer or any other time, but definitely during Christmas.

#5. Love Actually - Go ahead and laugh, I don't care, but I really do like this movie. I think what I really like about this movie is that its not your typical chick flick because not everyone ends up happy. I don't know why that makes me like it so much, but I do. I also like how so many of the stories intertwine and theres also a lot of famous people in it. Plus, Kiera Knightley's in it. You can't go wrong with that, he he. I think my two favorite scenes in the movie, and they go together, are Hugh Grant's speach sticking up for England(I love the lines about Harry Potter and David Beckham) and then his dance through his house after the song is dedicated to him. Just great.

#6. The Harry Potter movies - I don't know why they're on this list, but I'm always reminded of the movies when I think of Christmas. It's probably because they get played during ABC Family's 25 days of Christmas, but whatever. I like the scenes during Christmas in the movies, especially during the first movie and the third movie. Now, the movies don't match up with the books at all, but they're still enjoyable.

#7. The Muppet's Christmas Special - You guys all know this one, the one where the Muppets go away for Christmas and get stranded at this cabin with this old man and his dog and then the Fraggles are there and then Sesame Street shows up. Ha ha, just great. My favorite Muppet will always be the Swedish Chef. He makes me laugh.

Well, one movie that people might be surprised to not see on this list is the Christmas story and that's because I can't stand the movie. I'm not sure why, I guess it's the fact that TBS plays it non stop for 24 freakin' hours every year, but I just don't like it too much. Some other movies that make me think of Christmas that I should probably have on the list are the original Star Wars movies and the Back to the Future trilogy. I just always remember them being at tv when I was over at my Grandparents house and watching them after opening up presents. Maybe I'm making it up but I swear they were.

Lastly, I have an open invitation to you guys if you are interested. The US is playing Mexico on February 11th out here in Columbus. If anyone would be interested in going to the game at all you are more than welcome to stay at my place. I've already taken off the 11th and 12th so I would be able to pick people up from the airport if needed. Tickets haven't gone on sale yet but I do plan on buying a ticket when they do. Let me know if you're interested, I think it would be a fun game to go to, even though it will be bitterly cold.

So, it looks like Malone could be wrong about Big Tex. But my one question is when did he become one of the 5 best players? In fact, he's not even the best firstbasemen and he deserves 8 years $200 mil? Really? I'm sorry but I hope no one gives him that much money. He should just take the Nats offer of 8 years $160 and just go away. He's not worth $200 mil. I hope everyone takes their offers off of the table and he ends up signing a 1 year $12 mil contract with the Royals, ha ha. That would be funny. It won't happen because we all know someone will buckle and fork over the money, but it will still be funny.

Listen, the last post was not me going corporate or anything like that. In fact, I don't know if I'm allowed to write anything bad about dish so I might be screwed already, ha ha, but I will say this. We don't do a lot of things right, but when it actually happens you have to give credit where credit is due. And the slingbox was doing something right, for once. And yes, I'm aware that's its been around for a few years but I believe the new ones are not that old, so there. When I finally get a new computer the next thing I plan to get a slingbox.

It was nice to hear CC talking about looking for his new house and when the realtor asked what team he played for he said the Yankees and he had the nice fuzzy warm feeling about saying that when a week ago he said that he didn't even want to play there. Yeah, right CC. We all believe you. You couldn't wait to play for the Yankees. I thought that was nice.

Also funny on yahoo they have a list of 11 teams that almost had different names. And of course the Mets were one of them. It was an interesting list. Here's the link to the story

Joe Horn was brought in by the Giants to try out but we didn't sign him. There was an interesting article on deadspin about how Joe Horn thought he was brought in to trick the other receivers into believing that he was going to replace them. Personally I think it would have been a good tactic because we've sucked the past two games. The receiving corp could use something to get them to play better. Lets hope it actually rubs off.

Sooooo, I'm not really known to really endorse any products out there, well, besides the DVR. Well, I'm here to tell you about another product that will once again help shape the universe. Panic!!!

Soooo, I'm starting to get into panic mode now. Yes, we've clinched the division and a playoff spot but the past two weeks the offense has looked horrible. Absolutely horrible. I didn't think that the Plaxico situation would be a distraction but we've looked lost since. The team seems soooooo distracted by everything. Well, I shouldn't say the team, the offense does. I really didn't think we'd need him but it looks like I'm wrong. It's been soooo frustrating watching this team the past two weeks and the offense can't get anything done. I'm wondering if part of that is also because Jacobs hasn't played either. Of course last year I think we lost the last two games(at home against the Redskins and Patriots) so I know this team can bounce back but at least we scored some points in those games. I'm really worried about the game next week. Hopefully we'll play well enough for me not too worry, ha ha. We'll see.

A farewell to Endy!

Hey, I wrote before that I would write that post and then follow it up the next day. Stop complaining. I write about stuff that's important to me. But anywho, enough complaining, time for some baseball talk.

I must say that I'm surprised with how quickly the big free agents have signed. First K-Rod goes to the Mets and then the day after CC goes to the Yankees. Yes, Rob you called it but there were still a lot of teams that were interested. In fact, the day that the deal was reported one of my customers said that the LA papers listed a story that he was talking to them about signing. Also the Brewers made an offer and I'm sure the Angels made one too and the Red Sox were thinking about it. I'm wondering if the Mets thought about offering a similar deal but that contract is a scary one. 7 years/$161 million is a really big contract, especially for a pitcher. Personally I thought CC would get Santana type money but the Yankees blew that out of the water. I think if the Yankees had offered what Santana got that CC might not have signed with them. Of course there is the opt out afte 3 years. Does anyone know if that's just a player opt out or if the Yankees can opt out too? If the Yankees can I would say then that it's a good contract for the Yankees. If not I hope CC blows his elbow out midway through the next season and pulls an Albert Bell and doesn't retire and just sits around collecting his money, ha ha.

I'm loving what the Mets have done so far this offseason. I think Omar has done a great job. I love the trade for JJ and the fact that we got rid of two pitchers who weren't cutting it last season. For some reason Heilman just couldn't put it together the past two seasons. He was awesome in '06 but I wonder if he's going through Brad Lidge syndrome where Lidge was a shell of what he used to be after the Pujols homer? He really hasn't been the same since giving up the homer to lose the '06 season. Maybe he'll do better, maybe he'll just continue to fall apart. Only time will tell. I think Heilman will either become great again or he'll be out of the league in two years. I think it's that tramatic. Joe Smith was good when he first came up but people learned how to hit him and he basically lost his effectiveness.

The player I'll miss the most is Endy. Honestly I'll never forget Endy after the '06 season. He was just soooooo clutch that year, coming up with huge base hits at the end of games and with his fielding. His catch in game 7 is the greatest catch ever in Mets history. Ever. I can still remember where I was when it happened(TGI Fridays in Manchester, a bunch of us from TicketNetwork were there and I had just come from having dinner with the Account Management Team at that Fish restaurant) and how I just wanted to jump up and down and all around after that catch. The next season started off well but once he got injured he was really never the same. You could tell that this past season and his struggles continued. He will be missed.

But, I love our bullpen now, he he. With K-Rod closing things out and Putz setting him up, we finally have a steady end of the rotation. And, on the odd night that K-Rod can't go we have Putz to close. I think he'll pick up at least 5 saves next year. Plus, we still have Feliciano in the pen and hopefully Duaner can get back to the way he was in '06 before the shoulder injury. But now the Mets need to focus on getting, I think, two more starters. Our 1-2-3 are set with Santana, Maine & Pelfrey but there's no 4-5. I think Knight & Niese are a year or two away from the big leagues so we need to start looking and seeing what's out there. I think we'll go after D-Lowe and add him. Not too bad of a 4 or 5 starter and hopefully the Mets can re-sign Perez. That would be a pretty sweet rotation going Santana, Maine, Perez, Pelfrey, Lowe. AJ Burnett is out there but I don't think the Mets will make a play for him. He's too much of a contract year pitcher for me to want the Mets to sign him, unless it was for a 1 year deal. But we all know he won't take that. Well, only time will tell what'll happen.

In Defense of Charlie Weis

So, I've finally gotten around to writing this article. Actually I almost called up one of the local talk shows on Friday about this because they were talking about ND and how they thought ND should let Charlie go and that he wasn't doing that great of a job. An Irish fan called up and said that he didn't like when they signed him to begin with and I almost called up and called the guy a moron and then I was going to go into my reasons to defend him. Now, this season and last season didn't go too well but there were signs that the team would struggle, which I'll go over in a minute, but I'd also like to say that ND needs to win next year and that's it. I'm giving Charlie one more year to bring this team back to where it was when he first came in. If next year turns out to be another 6-6 team believe me I won't be writing the same article, I'll be writing to have him fired. I think next season is the season where the team must grow and turn into winners. So, here we go. Hope you enjoy:

#1. Memory
I'm not like most sports fans when it comes to the Irish. Well, I guess this Irish team. I have patiences. I understand that there will be growing pains and that this team and last years team were going to struggle. I accepted it because of what happened in the past. I think people who want Charlie Weis gone have a memory of the Irish that started last year, when they were bad, really bad. They don't seem to remember his first two years where the team was awesome. They were just plain fun to watch and they won a whole bunch of games and each Saturday I just wondered what they would do? I also remember the years under Tyrone Willingham and how bad the teams were. Not only his last two years but his first season when he won his first 8 games. What I didn't like about those teams were how bad the offense was. They just really didn't seem to be able to do anything offensively. They couldn't really move the ball and it was frustrating and boring to watch them. It really was. I also remember the teams under Bob Davie and it was just about the same type of team. What I also remember was the fact that Tyrone couldn't recruit. He just plain couldn't. He did find some good players every once in a while but he didn't really do anything with them. This I'll actually save for later. But what I also remember is what happened to lead the Irish to hire Charlie. See, Willingham was fired at the end of the season after and the Irish went after Urban Meyer who ultimately turned them down to sign with Florida, which has been a good thing for him, but what it also did was it screwed the Irish over. See, they didn't have a head coach. There was no one there to help develop these kids and also, too recruit. See, that's one of the biggest responsibilities of a coach is to go out and find the next players to come play for your school and there was no one there to do this that season. And that killed the team. They basically threw away a year of recruiting, cutting out the legs from beneath the team. Charlie wasn't able to sign to coach ND under after the pro football season was over, and if people can remember, the Patriots were in the Super Bowl that year so Charlie couldn't become the head coach until after that. Which gave him about a month to recruit players or at least keep the players that were going to go to ND. And that recruiting class was bad. It was. I think he was lucky to get 14 guys to commit to ND, which is just a horrible recruiting class. You can't keep a team going by doing that and it hurt ND. That's probably the biggest reason why we had the season we had last year. There were no leaders for that team. In fact, the Irish only lost 4 players at the end of the season. Now, the next recruiting class was just okay. Charlie recruited a lot of players, but nothing like the recruiting classes he's had the past two seasons or as he will have this year. I'm not saying that he didn't bring in any good players, just not like the dynamic ones he's brought in the past two seasons, which would also help cause the season the Irish had this year.

Now, there are also two reasons why I'm also patient with this team. The first reason comes from my high school days and from the hockey team. When I was a freshman the hockey team wasn't any good. In fact, they were horrible. I believe they won something like 3 or 4 games. They had a new coach that year and we figured to not play that well. Well my sophmore year the team got a lot better. In fact, they ended up making the playoffs but I believe they lost in the first or second round. Well, my junior year the team kept on getting better and they lost in the quarterfinals. As you can guess, my senior year we lost in the Semifinals. And the year after I graduated we won the whole things.

The second reason comes from college and the soccer team. Now the Messiah team was actually pretty decent before I got there. We'd made the playoffs every year for the past few years but couldn't really do much in it. So, once again my freshman year we made the playoffs but lost in the second round. Well, something happened my sophmore year and we grew a lot and lost in the quarterfinals. My junior year I expected us to lose in the Semifinals but we actually won the tournament. My senior year, unfortunately the team lost in the Semifinals, a little backwards but the team was in the right place, and they've also won 5 out of the past 6 national championships. And I can see the growth with this team, but they need to make a huge stride next year.

#2. Recruiting
I touched on this already but I'll go over it again. His first two official recruiting classes weren't that special. The first one was bad because he only had a month to get some recruits in and the second one because, I believe, he was still finding out how the system goes. Well, these past two years he's done a lot better job. Plus, Willingham was a bad recruiter and this is really what helped cost him his job. The athletic director realized that he wasn't bringing in the players that we needed and it just helped cause the situation we're in now. But, I do believe the team will be a lot better next year and the years after.

#3. Losses
This year the Irish have gone 6-6 with a bowl game left to play. Now, out of those 6 losses I believe the Irish could have won 5 of those games and I'll go through each loss and show you why. The first loss was at Michigan State 23-7. There were five plays that changed this game, the first two were turnovers in the red zone by the Irish, one interception and one fumble. The Irish also missed two field goals. The last was an interception inside their own red zone that lead to a Michigan State TD. If good things had happened on those plays instead of bad one you have a different game. The second loss was at UNC, which the Irish lead at half time and blew the lead. They also had a chance to win the game but there was a fumble on UNC's 7 yard line with 3 seconds left to play. They should have won that game. Next was a loss in 4 ot's at home against Pitt. Once again the Irish were up at half time only to blow the game in the second half. The d played pretty well but the offense just couldn't get it done in the second half. This game, I believe killed the team for the rest of the season. You could tell it in the way they played. They just weren't there. The next loss was at BC 17-0. Once again, 3 plays changed the game. Two interceptions in the red zone again and also a third int that was returned for a td. The d only gave up 10 points and if the Irish had scored on the two red zone possessions it would have been a better game. The last was a loss at home 24-23 to Syracuse. There was no excuse to lose this game. They should have killed the Orangemen but lost instead. I believe if the Irish had won these games instead it would have been a different game at USC.

#4. Young Starters
If you look at the ND starters most of them are either Freshman or Sophmores. In fact the Irish are only losing 2 starters from this years team. Of the main positions(QB, RB, WR, TE) on offense they're all freshman and sophmores. Of their 4 starting LB's 3 are freshman or sophmores. Of the starting CB's one is a freshman the other a senior. There are just sooo many young guys starting that it's hard to win with a team like that. In fact I believe that many of the problems that occured with the team were because of that. I think if this team were a year older they would have won the games that they ended up losing. That's why I have such high hopes for this team next year. I think the trials and tribulations of this season will help prepare them for next year.

#5. Not Losing Players
ND is only losing something like 4 players off of this years team. And only two are starters. That means that a lot of players gained a lot of experience this season that'll help them for next year. That shows you two things, first that the team can be really great next season but also that the team wasn't bringing in the players that it needed to those couple years where Tyrone was fired and when Charlie was first hired. If Willingham had done his job well then ND wouldn't have had bad seasons this year and last year. They would have just kept on rolling like Charlie's first two season.

#6. Developing Players
I heard this just briefly last Friday on the talk show, but I guess they were saying that Charlie Weis couldn't develop talent. That's what got me fired up and I almost called in. It's sad but true. Unfortunately I didn't hear the whole conversation, but I really wish I had. I'm sorry but without Charlie Weis no one would know who Brady Quinn is, who Jeff Samardzija is(in fact I wouldn't know how to spell his last name) or Maurice Stovall or Rhema McKnight, or Darius Walker or Tom Zbikowski or Trevor Laws. All of these players would have been no ones or duds. In fact, Samardzija was going to quit football and just concentrate on baseball. Without Charlie Weis there's no one I would have gotten a ND 83 jersey or a 10 jersey or a 7 jersey. There's no chance of that. In fact he's done a pretty good job with the players he's recruited. Jimmy Clausen's done a lot better this season than last. Golden Tate, I think, will be the best wide receiver ever at ND. And Michael Floyd will probably be #2. These guys are insane. Plus Armando Allen had a much better year this season. Without Charlie Weis we don't have any of that. In fact, if you look at the two best ND players in the NFL, that would be Justin Tuck and Ryan Grant, the ND coaches didn't do that good of a job with them. Tuck was drafted in the 4th round and Grant was either late in the draft or went undrafted(both started their careers with the Giants, I might add). If these other coaches were that good then I don't think they would have gone that low.

So, here are my reasons why I want Charlie around for at least one more year. I think he'll do a great job next year and I can see the team getting a BCS bid. Or at least that's what I'm hoping. Ha ha.

Oh boy

So it's been a couple days so there are a few things that have gone on. Plax is gone from the team, not sure if he'll be back or not b/c the players union is challenging the suspension. I must say that maybe the Giants could have used him today. It did seem that they were not completely focuses because I've never seen them play this bad since the Cleveland game. It just seemed that they could stop the eagles at all and they offense was soooooo bad. I've never seen them drop so many passes. The worst one was Hixon's drop pass. That would have been a td and maybe the Giants would have won the game. Maybe not. What I'm hoping now is that somehow the Steelers can pull this game out against the Cowboys. I'm not sure though. I really don't want to see either the Eagles or the Cowboys in the playoffs, I'll tell you that.

I was pretty impressed by the Gators yesterday. That was a big win by them and I think we'll have a great national championship game in January. In fact I would have been happy if either Alabama or Texas had made it too. I think those are the four best teams in the nation and if there had been a playoff I think those would be the final four teams. I really can't say who I think will win it all or not.

Did any of you see the Dela Hoya fight last night? Well dish was nice enough to make everyone work yesterday so I had the joy to work from 6-11pm last night. I left just as the fight started. I could have stayed and watched it but it didn't seem like it would be a good fight. And by the sounds of it it wasn't. I must say that I was surprised that Dela Hoya quit. I didn't think he was the type of person to do that. I guess he's really not the golden boy anymore, eh?

Playoffs

Rob, I think we'll have a pretty good playoff match as our teams are pretty eventually matched. I looked back and you beat me by 3 points when we played in like week 4 so it should be pretty close. I'm hoping Hixon has a huge game against the Eagles to help carry me to victory! It should be pretty interesting. I love how Koho didn't make the playoffs after getting off to a hot start, ha ha. It just goes to show that you do have to know at least a little bit to get by.

So tonight there was a happy hour for maureen and the other doctors that I got to go to. They had the Uconn game on tv and it was nice to see them struggle against a powerhouse like Buffalo. Buffalo? Really? I was waiting for the bulls to hit the game winning 3 at the end of the game but they didn't take it. Instead they drove in and tried to pass it to a center who can't catch. It made me laugh. Does anyone think that UNC can be stopped? After beating the Irish by 15 and then crushing Michigan State by over 30 points at Michigan State I don't know if they can. It's pretty scary, as much as I hate to admit it. Hopefully they'll get upset by the 16 seed in the tourny.

Did anyone see the Rutgers game tonight? I wouldn't have watched it if it wasn't on tv during the happy hour but by half time the Rutgers qb had 343 yards passing and 6 tds and Rutgers was up 49-0(which is a big east half time record). Maybe the Eagles will draft him so they can have a real qb? We shall see.

Just a quick note, I'm glad Brady Quinn wasn't taken #1 by the Raiders because they're aweful and it looks like JaMarcus Russell isn't that good, ha ha.

A Plaxico Tale

Well, as we've all found out today Plaxico Burress has played his last game for the giants. The Giants have suspended him for the rest of the year and he also can't play in the postseason. I would have been worried if the Giants hadn't been playing without him for most of the season. If fact, Burress really hasn't had that much impact this year. Plus, I think Hixon will be a better receiver than Plax but I will admit that not having Plax could be a huge blow and I'll miss having him on the team. He always seemed like a good blanket for the giants to use in case they were ever in an emergency. But, when you keep on getting into trouble like Plaxico has been it's just finally time to cut the cord and let him go.

Plaxico makes me think of the movie A Bronx Tale and one of it's themes, which is wasted talent. There is soooo much that he could have done, I personally think he could have been the best receiver in the league if he wouldn't let things get in the way. I understand why Pittsburgh let him go. I was happy about the signing but I feared that he would implode in NY. There just seemed to be too many distractions for him and now we know what happens. I can remember the good games that he would have, a couple years ago in Philly when the Giants came back from 17 down in the fourth to win in OT with a 45 yard td pass to Plax. I remember the playoffs and his Super Bowl winning catch. I'll never forget that, but I also won't forget all the trouble he brought. I'm just hoping that he doesn't rip apart the team. I don't think he will but you never know. Not only did he get himself in trouble but he could get two key players also in trouble. Only time will tell. Now I'm just hoping that Hixon can step up now and maybe we'll get a Mario Manningham sighting, which could be good. Maybe he can step up like Kevin Boss stepped up last season. What do you guys think about the Burress situation? Do you think the Giants did the right thing?

Late Sunday Night

Hello Everyone,
So, it's late Sunday night and the work week is just hours away, ugghhhh. Something bad's starting to happen with work where I really dread my drive to work. It's sorta like how I feel with the gym. I hate going to the gym, I really do. The whole way to the gym I just want to tell myself to turn around and go back home but when I get there I like it. It's strange, I know I'm going to like being at the gym but I still don't want to go. It's weird. Well, that's the way I'm starting to feel about work. I dread the drive to work. I don't want to go and every morning I wake up and I just want to call out. But when I get to work it's really not that bad. I can't complain too much, it's a pretty simple job and I always feel good when I can help someone. But I really don't want to do it for the rest of my life. So, once again I'm going to check around for another job and try and do something different, something I haven't done before. We'll see what happens this time, ha ha.

It was a nice win by the Giants today. You know what's scary about this team? They keep on beating good teams. They've had the hardest schedule this year and they're still 11-1. I'll be honest, I thought the gmen would struggle just to make the playoffs, especially after Osi went down but now they look a lot better than last year. It'll be interesting to see how far they can go in the playoffs. I think the only team I'm a little scared of right now are the Cowboys. They're still loaded, even if they don't have chemistry they'll be hard to beat in the playoffs. I'm hoping they slip up again and don't make it. We'll really know what the Giants are made of the next time they play.

Happy Black Friday

Well, it looks like Rob is turning into the lady's man we all knew he could be, ha ha. Now lets see if Koho & Perrotti can step up to the table. My thanksgiving was okay. I had to work from 8 to noon and then I left and played some Madden. The gf was working and everyone else I know here was with family. After that I went to the movies and I watched the Bond movie, which I agree with Malone was good, your average Bond flick, but I liked the first one better. Then I snuck into Twilight which was actually pretty good. It's about Vampires and I enjoyed it. The theater was packed, which surprised me. Unfortuantely I was surrounded by little teens who constantly yelled in my ear waiting for the movie to start. Luckily they shut up when the movie started, ha ha. I think I'll probably read the books now. It seemed pretty interesting and I bet they left out some stuff, like what always happens when you make a movie out of a book. Now I'm back at work, oh well. It feels like I'm working on a Saturday even though it's actually Friday. Strange.

Wednesday Night

So, it's Wednesday night, tomorrow is thanksgiving. I have to work tomorrow, so that's fun. Luckily I only have to work a half day so I'll be done at noon. The woman has to work tomorrow so I think I'll be spending the afternoon at the movies. There are a bunch of movies out there that I haven't seen yet that I'd like to so that's what I'm planning on doing. Of course I'm also known for just being lazy and sitting at home and playing playstation or watching tv, he he. I know I'll at least see one movie(probably the new Bond movie. It looks pretty good, has anyone seen it?). I hope you guys have a good thanksgiving.

I must say that I liked the story. I can just imagine what the people were thinking at the gas station when you guys would go back, ha ha. Rob, who is this lady that they speak of? Is it Malone's sister? Or is it Amy?

I'll be honest, I'm really really impressed with the Giants now. I really thought they were going to get killed by the Cardinals. It had all the makings of a beating. Kurt Warner playing against his old team. On the road at a division leader. The Cardinals have a high powered offense. Brandon Jacobs was out. Plax got injured in the first quarter. The running game didn't do much. I thought it was going to be the Browns game all over again where Eli throws 3 picks and the Giants get squashed. Then Hixon happened. I must say, besides Osi & Justin Tuck he is my favorite Giant. He's just awesome. Also, it's nice when Eli throws 3 td's. Let's just hope this continues. I think the most important game will be at the Cowboys, that's when we'll see what our team is made of. Let's hope Tony implodes again and TO cries for his qb. I love it.

On a down note, I'm sad that Brady Quinn's season is over now :-( I thought he was playing well and it would have been nice to see what he would have done the rest of the season. I'm hoping that Derek Alexander craps the bed and has a horrible end of the season. Then in the draft the Browns can take a wr who can actually catch the ball. I also think that the Browns will fire Romeo and get a real coach. On my home from work I listen to a sport talk radio show and this one guy called in and said that he goes to the pre-season camps and the browns players just don't seem to care and don't work too hard. It seems like Romeo just doesn't have control of that team and that is why I think he's gone. Only time will tell.

Just a warning sometime later this week or next week I'm going to put up an article about why Notre Dame should never, ever fire Charlie Weis. It's going to be long and probably bore you so I'll put up another post the next day. Feel free to ignore it but the whole situation is bothering me and I feel I need to get my thoughts down on paper. It will make me feel better. I've actually come really close to calling that talk show but I've held back, so far. Ha ha.

Sat Morning

So, it's Saturday morning. In less than an hour Ohio State will start their dismantling of a horrible Michigan team. I'd go drive somewhere but there's sooooo much traffic around here there's no point. I remember my first Saturday working at dish during an OSU homegame, I left right after the game got over and it took me 45 minute when it should have taken me 15. Ha ha. Oh well.

So, last week I broke down and I bought season one of the show Jeremiah. I'm pretty sure I've written about it before and you guys probably just ignored it but it's a show that was on Showtime and it stars Luke Perry & Malcom Jamaal Warner(Theo from the Cosby show) in a post-apocalyptic America. I like it, not surprising, but I must say I had a good experience buying it. I looked around a couple websites to see who had the best price because you can't find it in stores. Best Buy, Circuit City, Barnes & Noble and Borders were all too expensive. Walmart & Amazon had the best prices but I decided to go with Walmart because they have the ship to store option in which they just send the product to the store and you go pick it up with no shipping charges. I thought that was pretty nice. The website says that it takes about 7-10 business days for the product to arrive and then you have like 2 weeks to pick it up. Well, it only took like 3 days for the item to arrive, which I thought was pretty quick. And it only took like 5 seconds for them to find the package. All in all it was a really good experience and I would recommend it to anyone who wants to buy something online and not have to pay for shipping and not really wait that long. One problem with shipping an item to your house is that most of the time you're at work(unless you're Malone) so they either leave it there, where someone can steal it, or leave you a tag on your door and then you have to go to fedex/ups/dhs place to pick it up. Walmart takes these problems away with their ship to store(I'm pretty sure everyone else has this but still, it's pretty cool when a rare item gets to you this quickly with no hassle). So, that's that.

Well, the only big free agent off the market now is Ryan Dempster re-signed with the Cubs. I was hoping the Mets would have had a chance to sign him but I can't be mad at the cubs for getting him back. Now the question is will he be as good as he was last year?

I saw Zack and Miri make a porno last night. I was actually pretty surprised by it. I read a bad review of it so I wasn't sure what to think of the movie but I pretty much laughed throughout the movie. I'm starting to wonder when the guys from the Kevin Smith movies started to morph with the guys from the Judd Apatow shows/movies? It just seems like they're all just one big gang and they're just all in each other movies. Now all they have to do is add in Adam Sandler and all of his buddies and you'd have "the empire" of comedians. I saw this at the movie tavern out here which is one of the top 2 places to watch movies around here because the food is amazing. If you guys ever make it out here(oh yeah, I forgot to say this before, Rob my 30th b-day falls on a friday so you guys could come out to celebrate) we'll have to go so you can see how great it is.

Has any watched either The Terminator: The Sarah Conor Chronicles or Sons of Anarchy? I really like both shows. I don't think The Terminator will last another season but I think it's a really great show. Sons of Anarchy got signed on another season so I know there will be a season 2.

Hmmmm... thanks Mikey for that post about Heilman. I remember is 2006, when he was good, that he wasn't happy about being put into the bullpen. He was a starter at Notre Dame and in the minors and he wanted to go back to that. Unfortunately he was never really good as a starter with the Mets, that's why they put him in the pen. Then he got good. Now he's bad. I would have no problem with the Mets trading Heilman as long as they got something back. Depending on how things go, I don't think there'll be a spot in the rotation for him, but you never know. I think the Mets should wait on him until we get closer to spring training and see what the Mets do with free agency. If there's a spot, I think I'd be okay with him in it as long as there's a backup option. If not, trading him would be okay with me.

I'm not sure if anyone watched the UFC ppv on Saturday. I forgot to write about this so I'll do it now but Brock Lesner won the heavy weight title and is now the champion. He's only fought 4 times so far in UFC so I'm not sure if he 100% deserves it. I think he's improved a lot and I think he'll be almost unbeatable in a year or two but right now I think someone could take him down. I think he'll always be contending or holding the title while he's at UFC. What do you guys think?

Woooooooooooooooooooo, sorry it's taken me soooo long to write something but I was without internet for a while, I got it back on Sunday night but I've been busy so I couldn't write anything. There's been a bunch of stuff that's happened so I don't know if I can cover them all, or even remember them all. Ha ha.

I guess I'll start off with this. I thought the Giants looked pretty good on Sunday. It's always nice to put up over 200 yards rushing on the #1 ranked rush defense. I think the Giants are the only team to have 3 guys who can beat you in different ways. I was a little scared that Jacobs was hurt and going to be out for a while but it looks like he's okay. It was smart to rest him because when he got hurt we were already up a bunch. For a minute there I thought the Ravens were going to make a come back but then Ross got the interception returned for a TD and it put the game out of reach. How crazy would the superbowl be if the Giants were 15-1(I guess 17-1 with playoffs) and they played the 16-0(18-0w/playoffs) Titans? Would that be the best combined record for a superbowl? I think the Giants would win it because their offense is a whole lot better than the Titans and the defense is just as good. Could be an interesting super bowl.

Secondly, it was nice for my boy Brady Quinn to get his first win in the NFL last night. That was a weird game. It would have been funny if the Browns lost because they would have been the first team to blow 3 straight leads of 13 or more points. But, it looks like the Bills are still haunted by the Super Bowl as their game winning field goal went wide right, again. He he. What happened to the Bills? Remember when they were good and undefeated and on their way to cruise to the AFC East title and now they're at the bottom? Interesting how a season goes. Should they just tank the rest of the season to get a good draft pick?

I'll just say this about Notre Dame. We're looking bad. I thought we were going to lose the Navy game but the gods spared us another embarrassing loss. Wew! At least we have Syracuse this week before the USC game.

Who does everyone think will be the first big free agent to sign this offseason in baseball? It should be interesting. I'm thinking CC will go first, but it could be Texiera or K-Rod.

Lastly, what is the story that I missed? Can someone please fill me in?

So, I'm sitting here Wednesday night and I'm waiting on my laundry and also for some food to be delivered. There are a few things I want to touch upon so I'm not sure how to start. I guess the first thing is to say Rob, I can't read German. WTF? It reminds me of a story of a roommate that Mike and I had our senior year. Our roomie Jimmy told me that during college he had to write a 15 page paper for a class so the night that he was writing it he decided to smoke some weed. Well, he passed it in and a couple days later he got a message to see his professor. The professor asked him to re-write part of the paper. Jimmy asked why? Apparently he had written pages 9-13 in french, he he. Rob, were you high when you wrote that?

Well, I thought I'd go over the funny story from this past weekend. I drove to the other side of Pa to hang out with some friends from college in the Poconos. We watched scary movies all weekend long and it was a lot of fun. Maureen couldn't go because she had to work a 30 hour shift on Friday to Saturday. Not fun. Well, I had some PTO left over so I decided to leave 3 hours early from work. Of course it didn't work out this way. I ended up getting stuck on a call and having to leave 30 minutes later than when I wanted to. So, I was late to start the weekend. When I finally left Columbus it was raining. It rained throughout Ohio. I decided to stop off and get gas near the boarder of PA/OH because I was low on fuel. Just before I stopped off I noticed that the truck in front of me had three stickers on the back windows. The left window had "Millenium", the right window had "Falcon" and the middle one had a picture of R2D2. The licenses plate read JEDI KT. Couldn't go wrong with that! So, I followed the truck for a little bit but I had to get gas so I got off at an exit. After I filled up I started back towards my car, reached into my pocket for my keys but I didn't feel them. So, I searched my other pockets and I still couldn't find them. I looked in my car and I saw on the passanger seat my keys. Crap. I was hoping I didn't lock my car doors but I did. I had locked myself out of my car at the gas pump during rush hour with the gas station filling up. Dejected I went inside to let them know and see what could be done. I told the guy at the register I locked myself out and this is the conversation I had:
Me: "I locked myself out of my car"
Him: "Well, you can use the phone to call the locksmith"
Me: "OK"
Him: "Here's his card, look his name is John Carpenter, he he. You know, like the guy who directed Halloween"
Me: "Oh okay, where's the phone?"
Him: "We don't have one but you can use the cordless up at the register"

First off, how weird is it that I'm on my way to watch scary movies all weekend long, lock myself out of my car and the guy who's coming to get me out is named John Carpenter? How does that happen? Secondly, how clueless is the guy to tell me there's no phone to use but I can use the one at the register? What???? Well, anywho 15 minutes and $50 later I was back in my car on my way again. It was a fun weekend and I'm glad I came away with a good story, even if it did cost me $50.

Back to the free agents for the Mets. Well, we've covered pitching, which should be the main focus of the offseason. The infield is pretty solid and we don't really need to get any infielders. I would say maybe a catcher but there aren't any good free agent catchers out there. Now, in the outfield the only position that's really set is center field with Beltran. Who knows what'll happen with Church and if he can fully recover from PTSD. He was killing it until he got injured and when he came back he wasn't as good as before. Hopefully he can make a good comeback. We re-signed Fernando Tatis, I think to a two year deal. Not too bad because he played pretty well. I like the young guys we've got but I think they're still a year away from being ready. There isn't anyone I'd love to see the Mets get. I think you have to cross Manny off your list because he'll re-sign with the Dodgers. The outfielders are ok. I think I'd be happy if the Mets signed Bobby Abreau, he can hit for average, drive in runs, score runs, and he'll hit 15-20 home runs. He's not the home run hitter he used to be but he's still a good all around player. Plus, he knows what it's like to play in NY. I'm not sure how I would feel if the Mets sign Adam Dunn. He's weird because he can hit a ton of home runs plus he walks a lot, but his batting average is really low and he strikes out a lot. It's a really weird combo so it's hard to decide if he helps or hurts you. I really don't care too much for any of the other OF free agents. It could help if they signed Scott Podsednik to come off the bench, I think I'd be happy with that because he's super fast and would be a great boost off the bench. Other than that there aren't too many good players out there. Also on a side note for pitching, now that Hoffman won't re-sign with the Padres maybe the Mets could offer a one year deal for him to setup whoever's the closer. Not sure if he'd take it but it wouldn't be bad to have a guy like him in the pen.

Did you guys watch the end of the main event? I thought it was pretty exciting. I thought that Eastgate was going to win. He seemed to play the best out of the people left. I still can't get over the fact that the one Canadian player made it too the final table even though he's the worst player I've ever seen since Koho. And that's saying something. His playing reminded me of when a girl would win the NCAA pool by picking teams that "sounded nice". Figures.

Okay so there are a couple things to touch upon since this will be my last post of the week. I must say I've gotten off to a better start than in any month so what are you odds I keep it up? I'm guessing zero, ha ha. First off I'd like to wish Mike(the old one not the new one, but it may apply to the new one but I'm not sure) a happy late b-day. Mike is now 29 just like me and I believe he will also be a father very soon. One quick story about Mike and I'll move on. This makes me laugh now but it didn't when it happened. Mike my was roommate my senior year of college. I believe Mike had an early class way before any of mine and I was convinced Mike wanted to make me pay because of this. So, his alarm would go off for him to wake up and of course Mike wouldn't do anything about it until I would move. It wouldn't take much of a move to get him to turn off the alarm, usually I would start to stretch my arm out to grab something to throw at him, but before I could get anything he would turn it off. It makes me laugh now, but not much then. He he.

Secondly I'm not surprised by the election. I thought that the election really came down to two things, Obama convincing everyone that McCain was another Bush and McCain trying to convince everyone that Obama has no experience. Well, as we found out Obama did a better job. But here's the thing, I don't remember McCain being a Bush lackey? Where did this come from? I always remembered McCain as the rogue Senator who wouldn't always vote Republican even though he is one. Am I wrong about this? Was there something I missed? Well, congrats to Obama. I think another problem that the Republicans had was the fact that they didn't really rally their voters. I was watching a tv piece on the campaigns and thats what the Republicans said. There were a lot of Republicans who just didn't go out to vote and that hurt McCain. Well, we'll see what happens with everything.

Malone, sorry but I can't make the tourny. I'd love to, but I can't. Maybe you should have a Columbus Invitational? Eh???? Not bad.

Also, I think it was Malone who asked what I thought about the free agents and who the Mets should go after. Here are my thoughts on it. First off the Mets need pitching. They need pitching in a bad way, both starting pitching and in the bullpen. Here are my ranks of who the Mets should go after for starting pitching:

#1. CC Sabathia - I really don't think the Mets will get him, infact I think he'll go back to the Brewers, but if the Mets could land him then we'd be sick. We have the Money to offer him and I'd have no problem offering him the same money we offered Johan but we'll see if we do.

#2. Oliver Perez - We need to re-sign him because there really aren't a lot of good starting pitchers out there. I'm hoping that we do re-sign him but I don't think we should pay him more than he made last year. Perez is definitely really inconsistent and too inconsistent to make more than last year. Will someone offer him more and will he take it? Who knows. But, you know how I like to think about this, if the Mets land CC & Perez this is the starting rotation, Santana, CC, Pelfrey, Perez, and Maine. How sick is that? It's a dream and will never come true but I'll still think about it.

#3. Ryan Dempster - Dempster had a huge season last year as a first year starter and he did a great job. I wouldn't give him a long term deal but something around 3 years would be good. I think he'd pitch well in NY after he pitched so well in Chicago.

#4. John Smoltz - Smoltz is probably one of the best big game pitchers out there. Smoltz pitched better in the post season than Glavine(Judas) or Maddox and it wouldn't be a bad idea for the Mets to bring him in for a season. I wouldn't sign him longer than 1 year because he's old and who knows if he'll be able to pitch the whole season or if he'll get injured once again?

Relief Pitchers

#1. F-Rod - He's by far the best closer out there and he's young. Wagner is out for the year so we need a closer. Whatever we did last year didn't work so it's time to sure up the pen. F-Rod's agent said that he's asking for Mariano type money($15 mil/season) but he would go somewhere if it didn't offer him that much but offered something "interesting", i.e. a lot of years. We'll see what happens.

#2. Brian Fuentes - If we can't get F-Rod the Mets better get Fuentes. He's the only other closer I'd like to see the Mets throw some money at. He's young, too which would be nice. I'd like to see the Mets offer a 3 or 4 year deal, preferably a 3 year one. Will he sign it? Probably not.

#3. Kerry Wood - Yes, yes, yes, he's an injury waiting to happen but he also had a great year last year as the Cubs closer. I think that'll be a perfect position for him and he mike be able to stay healthy. With Wood I wouldn't want to offer him more than a two year deal. He'll probably want more but if the Mets get him they better not offer him a 4 or 5 year deal. He'll probably stay in Chicago but it would be neat to have him at the end of the bullpen.

#4. Matt Herges - Not only do we need a closer but we also need some setup help. Herges has had a few good seasons and would be great in NY. He pitched pretty well in Colorado so that's saying something.

#5. Darren Oliver - Okay, yes he's like 50 years old in baseball years but he was key to the Mets run in 2006. He's pitched really well in Anaheim so why not get him back again? Would that be too bad? Once he was gone and Chad Bradford were gone the Mets pen went to pieces.

#6. David Weathers - Weathers is actually an ex-Met. I forgot that. He had two really good years and a bad half season before we shipped him out. He's been in Cincinatti the past 3 seasons and has pitched pretty well for in Cincy. It wouldn't be too bad to bring him back. Come one, if we can let Aaron Heilman have a spot in the bullpen we can sign Weathers.

Okay, it's getting late and I want to go to bed soon so I'll keep what the Mets should do with fielders til next week. The Browns lost like they typically do, blowing a lead. Brady Quinn played pretty well and I was happy with what he did. Hopefully the d can show up for a game and maybe they'll win more.

Sunday Night

Well, just a little while ago I got a text from Rob telling me that the fall video game review was completed and emailed to me. So, I'll post it in a sec, just a couple things to go over with. First off, Perrotti, how did you not take the Giants over the Cowboys with your 4 pointer? Yes, the game is over but I could have told you the Gmen were going to destroy them. Brad Johnson was the starting qb, you knew my boy Justin Tuck was going to kill him(to a tune of 2.5 sacks) and there was no way the Cowboys weren't going to get destroyed. I couldn't have picked any other game with certainty except this one. Secondly, sorry guys, it's football season. I love ND. I'm going to write about them. I probably won't do one like the last one it's just the only time I had to write was during the game, so there. I didn't think it would come down to OT, but it did and I didn't want to waste an opportunity like that. So suck it up. Lastly, I found out from Imran tonight that a chick won the poker tournament and I guess she took out Bagley and he was pretty pissed as usual. Can I get a better rundown so I know what happened. I also heard there was a bet that Ayo would be the first guy out and he was. Can someone please confirm this for me? A guest post with a write up about it would be sweet. Now, here's Rob's post. Fall Videogame Roundup

Well, the Fall Videogame preview is a little late this year as most of the holiday season's highly anticipated games have already been released. It seems to be the year of the sequel. I will make my preview XBox 360 specific since that's my main system. There are a lot more games being released than these, but these are the ones I looked forward to the most and it turns out that these are generally the best reviewed games. Malone, I'm not sure you would like any of these first three games. For PS3 exclusives, Killzone 2 and Resistance 2 are both really hyped shooters that haven't been released yet and should be very good. Also on PS3 only, LittleBigPlanet is a kid game that I personally would never play but was supposed to be very unique.

Fable 2 (XBox 360 only)
Release Date: October 21
Genre: Action RPG
Do I own this game: Yes
Fable 2 is the sequel to the disappointing, yet tantalizingly promising, oft-delayed original which was released on the first XBox console. Fable 2 features a fully explorable world ten times the size of the original game's world, a strength-skill-will based experience points/level up system, and a pretty well developed good/evil morality system. It's an RPG, but has an action flavor to it. There are many side quests from the main story, and you can buy any number of properties, hold jobs, and get married. You can also choose to have sex (protected or unprotected) and have children or get STDs. The graphics throughout the game are very good. To me, this game plays too much like an arcade game and needs more advanced character development options, but it is no doubt a highly polished and enjoyable play.

Far Cry 2 (XBox 360, PS3, PC)

Genre: Action/Shooter
Do I own this game: Yes (roommate)
This game is basically Grand Theft Auto, except it is set in a generic African country. You are plunged into a basic revenge/get-the-bad-guy-boss storyline. There is much to explore, from jungles to swamps to prairies to cities. The game map is very large. The game is gorgeous, and the environments and player/NPC animations are equally beautiful. It controls as a standard first person shooter, with a large array of weapons. One of the more gruesome and unique parts of this game involves healing your player - the game will show your player pulling bullets or glass out of your arms or legs in gory detail. This game will always be compared to Grand Theft auto, but it is still a terrific game in its own right.

Fallout 3 (XBox 360, PS3, PC)

Genre: RPG
Do I own this game: Yes
Fallout 3 is, for many hardcore gamers, a perfect game. Set in a post-nuclear war Washington DC (and the surrounding countryside), you are free to explore a gigantic game world inhabited by mutated animals, "raiders", super-mutants, militias, and other characters. If you have ever seen Mad Max, this game will remind you a little of their world. The attention to detail for such a huge game world is nothing less than astounding, as you can see the former civilization reduced to rubble and debris. The RPG aspects of the game, character creation and development, are very robust and building your character's attributes, finding good weapons, becomes a labor of love. I have never played a game that was a better value for only $60. You could play this game easily for over one hundred hours. This game has it all - sound, graphics, gameplay, atmosphere, presentation - you name it. Warning: this game is not for people who only like playing sports games! This game is firmly in my top 5 favorite games of all time, and I've only played it for about 11 hours.

Soooo, did anyone go out trick or treating last night? Koho, we know you did. I'm watching the end of the ND game and Pitt just scored and they need the extra point to tie it. I'll keep writing while watching the game. Pitt threw the same pass 3 times in a row and finally scored on it. Dang it, tie game. But a good thing is the Irish have over 2 minutes to score to win the game. I've got confidence they will. Did anyone see Saw 5? I still haven't seen Saw 4 and I heard it wasn't that good. I was kinda disappointed about Saw 3 after how good the second movie was. The first movie was good, too. It's been a pretty good day of college football with some crazy finishes so far and this game should be another good finish. My favorite game so far was the Michigan-Purdue game where Purdue scored with 25 seconds left on a hook and ladder, made famous from the movie Varsity Blues. Of course they missed the extra point and Michigan still had a chance to win it but the Hail Mary was not answered.

I have no idea what to pick for tomorrow's games so I didn't even put them up. I did a league like this for a few years and it sucked. The guy who ran it his mom would always come back to win the league in the last few weeks. It was always funny because we would pick all of the games with the spread and the last few weeks she would always get 12-13-14 picks right a week. How does that happen? I won it one week and I was happy about that. The only time that ever happened for me when I did it.

I finally watched Atonement on Thursday night. I wasn't sure how I felt about the movie until the end. It had a twist at the end that I thought made it good. The movie was strange because they would play part of the movie and then the next scene would be earlier than when the previous scene happened, then it would skip ahead sometime and then go back a little bit and then at the very end it skips ahead a longtime. It wasn't the greatest movie I ever saw but it was pretty good, definitely not what I thought.

Well, the ND game is now in overtime, lets hope something good happens for our boys, ha ha. I'll keep you posted. ND won the toss and elected to go on defense first. First play pitt has an incomplete pass. I thought there was an early jump by Pitt but it wasn't called. Now on the other end of the field the sprinklers have gone off, ha ha. Pitt runs for a first down on second down, just like they've been doing against us since the second quarter, ugghhh. On first and goal the ND defense holds pitt to a 1 yard run. On second and goal Pitt throws to the RB who loses 4 yards, now it's 3rd & goal from the 13. On third down 8 yard run for 4th & goal. Pitt makes a field goal, 27-24 Pitt. Lets see what the Irish can do now.

Great, one of the Irish o-linemen gets injured walking out onto the field, that's a great sign. I don't think I should have said that. 7 yard run on first down. Good start so far. 8 yard run on second down, first and goal. Armando Allen's third straight run, this one for 7 yards, second and goal from the 3. Pitt stuff's Allen, 3rd and goal. I'm feeling a play action pass on this down. Pitt holds and forces Jimmy to throw it away. Time for a field goal. I don't think it's a good thing that the announcers keep on talking about how the kicker has struggled. It didn't work, field goal good. ND gets the ball for the second OT.

Well this will be interesting, they're now playing on the side where the sprinklers went off. Jimmy C overthrows a wide open Michael Floyd who would have easily scored. That sucks. Allen with a nice 4 yard run. But, it's 3rd and 6. 10 yard catch & run by Michael Floyd, first down. Loss of 2 on a run, not a good start. Ugghhhhhhh....... Nice 5 yard catch, 3rd and 7 again. Just over the head of Floyd, ND has to kick again. And the kicker makes it. ND up 30-27 and we need to hold them.

2 yard run by McCoy. This guy is the second best RB ND has seen this season. Pitt runs a screen pass and it looked like McCoy was going to break it but ND stops it, 3rd and 1. ND stops McCoy, 4th and 1 now. Pitt makes their FG, tied at 30.

Pitt gets the ball now. If someone scores a TD from now on they have to go for 2. I like this about College football. McCoy 1 yard run on first down. False start on Pitt, 2nd and 14 now. Jeez, this McCoy guys is amazing. Catches a screen for 16 yards and a first down. The backup RB rushes for 2 yards. Pitt runs a draw for 2 yards, 3rd and 6. I think I might puke now. Incomplete pass, almost picked off, Pitt to kick another field goal. FG good, Pitt up 33-30.

Ok guys, lets score a td now and end this game. Just run the ball with Allen, is that too much to ask? Maybe not, Allen 1 yard run. Incomplete pass, 3rd and 9, not looking good. I just puked in my mouth. Clausen sacked, first one today and it's really looking back, it's going to be a 48 yard fg to tie. Wow, somehow he made it, we're tied again. 4th ot.

ND ball again. Aldrige nice 4-5 yard run on first down. Let's keep it going. 1 yard run, 3rd and 5 now. I'd like at this point to thank Malone for sending my check for the home run league and putting "Entertainment" on the check. Thanks. Incomplete pass and now I have to wait through another field goal. Just what I thought. Finally ND misses a fg. Just pushed to the left. Looks like ND's 3rd loss of the year.

I can't really blame the kicker for that one, the offense hasn't done anything in the second half. ND stops the run, second and 10. I don't think Pitt will throw on this drive, they have a great kicker. Big run by McCoy, first and goal for Pitt from the 6. Uggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh....... McCoy runs to the middle for a 1 yard game. Now Pitt will make a fg to win it and I will go cry in the bathroom because I don't want anyone to see me. And I'm headed to the bathroom to cry. Pitt wins 36-33.

Happy Halloween everyone, blah blah blah. It's been an interesting month with the longest delay in a world series and unfortunately the phillies taking the crown. Who would have thunk it? Not me. They totally reversed the long layover jinx that has plagued the past few world series. I thought the Rays would beat them easily, but of course just like many things, I'm wrong. Ha ha. Malone, I'll put up a post later on the free agents. One problem is is that I think they have like 15 days to file for it so that list will grow longer. Then we'll see what happens in this crazy world. Well, my breaks running low so I'm going to have to cut this one short. I'll try and get a longer, better one tomorrow. Oh yeah, before I forget, how was the poker party? What happened in the tournament and who won the best costumes?

Tuesday Night

Well, so I wanted to hand the World Series over to the Phillies but the rain decided to keep that from them. I don't mind. I don't think they deserve to have their title yet. I don't really have any good reason why just that I don't like the Phillies, ha ha. There's not much on tv so I'm watching the Great Outdoors, one of my favorite John Candy movies behind Spaceballs & Uncle Buck. The most believable part of the movie is that fact that John Candy's oldest son meets a girl one night, she treats him like crap, then he sees her the next day and then they're boyfriend & girlfriend even though he's leaving in 3 days. Nothing better than a 3 day gf. Maybe that would make life easier? The second thing is John Candy eating a 96 ounce steak.

What's so wrong with starting David Price? You're down 3 games to 1 and everyone knows Kazmir can't pitch out of the fifth because he throws too many pitches. Madden had enough confidence in him to pitch in game 7 to close out the series why not start him in game 5? If they had won they could have had Kazmir pitch game 6 at home on full rest & Shields game 7 on full rest with Garza coming out of the pen if Shields gets into trouble. I guess now it's okay because of the rain delay now you have all hands on deck if there's a game 7, besides Shields who will pitch game 6. Of course, this is if the Rays win game 5, which they won't. He he.

Well, onto making fun of myself for a little bit. I started my new shift yesterday. We have a webpage that lists our breaks & lunch. Well, I tried to get to the webpage but alas, it didn't work. So, I talked to my coach and he came over at like 9:30ish to give me my break schedule. So I had something on my lists of breaks that was new so I asked my coach and he didn't know. He checked and apartently I had an interview in about 15 minutes for a QA position. I had submitted a request to interview for this position last week but I didn't know if I would get one so it came as a surprise to me. Well, as you can guess I wasn't at my best in the interview and for a couple questions I didn't really know what to say. I was at a loss for words and it made the interview kinda funny. I can laugh at it now because I don't think I'd take the job if they offered it to me. I'm happy to finally get my weekends off and I don't think I'd get them off if I took the job so I'm not going to complain. So, the job search continues, but not that hard. Maybe someday I'll find a better job, maybe.

So after a crazy weekend of sports it looks like the dust is about to settle and this is what we've learned this weekend:
Sorry Mikey but I don't think the Rays will pull it out. Personally I would have started David Price tonight because it would have been interesting to see him in a big game and then you could have Scott Kazmir in game 6 and James Shield in game 7 if it had reached that. It was nice for Carlos Pena & Evan Longoria to go a combined 2 for 109820980982 in the World Series, give or take a couple. I'll have to hand it to the Phillies, they deserved to win it. I never thought I'd say it. I guess it's nice for the NL East to be the World Series champs. Now if only the NFC East can repeat as NFL Champs(the Giants winning it again) and I'll be happy. Actually I don't think I can complain about football for at least 5 years, I believe that's the law.

I was surprised by the Giants game. First how badly they played in the Red Zone, then how good their front 7 are or how bad Pittsburgh's o-line is, then what a rollercoaster game Eli can give you from going from 4th & 1 to 4th & 6 to throwing that crazy pass to Amani and only to get a field goal from it, to then driving the G-men down for the winning td after the safety. It's nice to see the Giants beat another highly ranked team(personally if the offense was insynch that game we should have killed them. I'm not sure if I should give credit to the Steeler's D or get mad at the bad red zone offense.) Personally I think the Giants are the best team in the league. The Browns game was a bad game but the Gmen usually play blahly this time of year. We've got the hardest part of the schedule the rest of the season so we'll see what we're made of.

In college football it looks like Penn State has a clear ride to the national championship game if they can win out against easy teams. Who will they play? I'm not sure, it's hard to say. Personally I don't think it's going to be USC or Alabama. I wouldn't be surprised if the winner of the Georgia - Florida game makes it. Or the Texas - Texas Tech game.

Onto a non-sports topic I've listened to a bunch of new music and I must say that I'm not too satisfied with any of it. Mike, what do you think is the best music album of 2008 so far? Also Rob, can you email a guest post for the video games to look forward to for Fall 2008-Winter2009? That would be a cool post and something I'd look forward to read.

Right now I feel like it's the calm before the storm. There are soooo many big and good games this weekend it's going to be hard to keep up with all of them. For today we have in college footbal: #8Texas Tech at #23 Kansas, #6Oklahoma State at #1 Texas(on a funny side note Desmond Howard just called Ok State the real OSU while at Ohio State. You've got to love the hatred Michigan players have for Ohio State) , #7 Georgia at #13 LSU, #3 Penn State at #9 Ohio State(this being the 9th night game at OSU), and my favorite game of Saturday being Notre Dame at Washington because once again its Charlie Weis against Ty Willingham and I think we'll crush them, which is awesome because I can easily see ND being like Washington(0-6) if Ty had stayed.

Now on Sunday we have in the NFL TB at Dallas to see how far Dallas will fall(Does anyone think they'll fall to 4-6? And if they do how much fun will it be to watch this team implode?), Giants at Pittsburgh matching espn's #2 & #3 ranked teams, a former superbowl matchup in the resurging Rams at the evil Pats, I really like the Atlanta at Philly game(and I must say I laughed at Michael's Ron Mexicoed comment, I used to refer to Marcus as New Mexico), and I think it'll be a good game on Monday night of Indy at Tennesse to see if the guard has changed in the AFC South.

And then on top of it all is the World Series. It's going to be interesting to see if they can get game 3 in tonight and how interesting it'll be if they don't and then we'll get the last 5 games in a row. I think the edge has to be with Tampa Bay right now seeing how they have better starting pitching the next 3 games than the Phillies and that's the most important thing. Plus they have the David Price X-Factor. It'll be interesting. I'm taking the Rays in 5 now.

So, I guess today is my birthday. I don't feel older or wiser, I just feel the same, ha ha. Can anyone guess how old I am now? Well, anyone besides Mike since we were born a couple weeks apart. Now onto other stuff:

So, I just woke up and I'm watching sportscenter now and they have a story about Tom Brady and he's having complications from his surgery on his knee. It looks like he might have to have his surgery done again and it could take months to fix everything. I'm wondering if something like this could end his career or at least keep him out of a lot of next season? Personally I didn't think he would be the same qb when he first got hurt(like Carson Palmer) but this could be much worse. I guess the Pats are going to have to draft a qb or sign someone in the offseason.

Well, I must say that I'm surprised that the Phillies won. Chase Utley came up huge in the first and Cole Hamels was pretty good. But, I don't count the Rays out. This kind of reminds me of the Sixers-Lakers(I think it was the Lakers, it could have been the Spurs) NBA Finals series when the Sixers took game one but then lost the next four. We shall see. Remember, the Rays lost game 1 last series and then beat the Sox in 7. Here's a little trivia for you. The last team to win game 1 and lose the next four? The Phillies in 1983. So hopefully we'll have a good series.

Here are my picks Perrotti, and they'll probably be really really bad.
#4: Ravens over Raiders - The Raiders are just bad and the Ravens d is good enough to shut down the Raiders. Plus the game is at home so that's an extra benefits to the Ravens. This game won't be close.
#3: Bucs over the Cowboys - The Cowboys are bad now. Romo isn't playing. They just lost to the Rams. Their offense isn't as good with Brad Johnson as QB. I think the Bucs will come in and shock the Cowboys.
#2: Bills over Dolphins - I think this game will be closer than people think. It's hard to win on the road, especially at a division rival and that's why I don't have as much faith in this game.
#1: Titans over Colts - There's something that I've learned about Peyton Manning over the years. Don't ever count him out. Just when you think he's down and out for the count he'll come out and pull a big upset. I could be completely wrong about this so Perrotti chose what you want to, but I think this game will be close and if you pick this as your four point game you might be sweating it out.

Now, onto baseball. Sorry Koho, but the season isn't over so I can still write about it until free agency starts. Which is after the World Series. Ha ha. The Rays-Sox series was amazing. By far the most enjoying series since the Mets-Dodgers series of '06. It really had everything you could imagine in it. The Rays taking a 3-1 lead, up 7-0 game 5, blowing that, losing the next game, trailing early in game 7, coming back to lead it, bases loaded with one of the Sox clutch hitters up, a rookie who only came up in September getting the call to close out the series. Who would have thunk he'd do it? It was just amazing. Now, lets just hope they can finish it off by beating the Phillies. They're #5 on the top teams I hate in baseball. Rob, I disagree that CC goes to the Yankees. I think he'll stay in the NL because he said earlier he likes the NL and he likes to hit(plus one less decent hitter he has to face since he has to pitch against pitchers). But, we'll see what happens.

Soooo I've finally completed by last weekend that I have to work, until they screw me over on Wednesday and tell me that I have to keep my schedule. fun stuff. Today wasn't that bad until the end of the day when I had two crazy ladies call me and didn't really want to hear what I had to say or explain to them. I live by the theory that for every child a woman has they become 12% crazier. These women easily had 4 kids, that's how crazy they were. Well, I started to feel better today when I got home and saw the Giants were winning & the Cowboys were getting killed. That's a pretty good way to come home. How crazy was the bears-vikes game? When do those teams combine for over 80 points? Is Kyle Orton really this good? I liked Dan Orlowsky's(spelling is bad) game for the lines. He was like 11 for 24 for 260 yards. Didn't this team just trade their best wr? WTF?

Rob, if the Red Sox win tonight I invite you to write a guest blog for me and I will post it. If they don't then I will post something on Monday about how relieved I am that the Rays won and I don't have to watch them sweep the Phillies. Fair? Koho when did you get cool?

I wanted to post this on Monday but then I got lazy and then another topic popped into my mind so I was going to post that one but then Malone emailed me and I posted his, so these are the two posts that I was going to do. It might get kinda long so get a cup of coffee and let's go!

The first one:
Have you ever had a day where everything was going your way, you had a great day and were really happy but then something happens and then the day just changes? I had that kind of day on Monday. The day at work was pretty good, nothing to bad with the phone calls and at the end of the I found out that I got the new shift that I wanted, Monday to Friday 8am to 4:30pm so after 7 months I finally have my weekends free! Then I came home and I was able to watch the Rays take a big lead on the sox. And then it happened. I was tired so I took a nap. When I woke up things started to change. Well, at first they were good. By the time I woke up the Rays game was just about over, then I started to watch the Dodgers game and they ended up taking a big lead on the Phillies. I was also watching the Gmen play on Monday Night Football. Then things went bad. The Giants D couldn't do anything and Eli threw his second pick of the night. At halftime, though the Giants pulled in close. Only down 17-14 and getting the ball back to start the second half seemed like the usual Giants. The Dodgers were up 5-1 on the Phillies. How could things go bad? How could they? Well, the dodgers game up 3 two run homers and lost to the Phillies to go down 3-1 in the series and Eli threw a pick on the first drive to kill any hopes of a Giants comeback. Later on as the Giants were driving against down 31-17 into the Red Zone Eli threw another interception that was returned for a td. Just great. Honestly, how does something turn around that quickly. It seems like it just takes one thing, one thought, one action to turn everything around. Usually it doesn't happen to often. Well, this past week it's happened 3 times! There was Monday. It also happened on Saturday. With the Irish up 17-9 on UNC and getting the ball to start the second half I thought that the Irish had the game in hand. This was their first game against a team ranked in the top 25 and their offense couldn't be stopped. Then on the first play of the second half Jimmy Clausen threw a pick 6 and the irish were up 17-16. The game changed there and the Irish lost. Well, the bad luck continued last night. I didn't watch the beginning of the game. I was actually playing the new star wars video game until I beat the game. Then I turned the game on and watched the Rays go up 7-0 in the top of the seventh. Then it happened. I heard the announcers saying that Kazmir is going to be coming out of the game and I thought to myself, wouldn't it suck if the Rays lost this game because they took Kazmir out? So, I turned to watch something else and I got a text from a friend cursing Big Papi's name. 7-4 Rays. So I watched the comeback of all comebacks. ugghhhhhhhh. And now I'm scared that the Sox will come back and win the series. This would be the third time since 2004 that the Sox have come back from either a 3-0 or 3-1 deficit to take a series. We shall see.

The second one:
I got this idea from watching the Iron Man dvd. How did Robert Downey, Jr. turn his career around? Does anyone know how this happened? I remember when he was a big star when I was younger. And then he kind of went nowhere because of his drug and alcohol problems. And then all of a sudden he turned his career around. Now he's an action hero star? Where does this come from? Personally I think it started with the movie Zodiac. I really like this movie and I thought RDJ was really good in this movie. He was really funny and the movie was great overall. It was definitely a bigger movie than he had done in the past few years. From there he was in a little movie called Charlie Bartlett where he played a principal for a high school in Connecticut. He was great in that movie, too. Then out of nowhere he was announced as the guy to play Tony Stark & Iron Man. What? Hold on, what? Who would cast him as this role? I was definitely sure this was a mistake that would make this movie horrible. He'd never been a leading role in an action movie before. I was certain this was a huge mistake. And then I went to the movie. And I was proven wrong. The movie was awesome. It was by far one of my top 3 movies from this summer. He followed that up with a cameo in the Hulk movie(as Tony Stark) and then he made Tropic Thunder which killed in the box office, too. Sadly I have not seen this movie but I heard it was really good. I'm hoping to see it soon, either in the cheap theater or on dvd. Now he has two more big movies soon, one as Sherlock Holmes and the other is Iron Man 2. Talk about turning your career around.

Guest Post: Heeeee's Back!

Well I'm back from the honeymoon and I know you all missed me terribly. I think I read all of the posts that were placed while I was gone. Luckily Roger slacked a little and there weren't too many. I enjoyed both Roger's and Perrotti's recaps of the wedding. Here are a couple of things that stuck out in my mind:

- Kohanski was the drunkest I've ever seen him. I don't know if you all were drunk as well and didn't notice it as much as me, but it was hilarious. The best line of the night was right at the end when we were packing up to leave and Koho was trashed. We were talking about dancing and Michelle's mom couldn't remember if she danced with Koho or not. I believe he said "Yeah we danced together twice... and they were the best two dances of my life!" He could have taken her home right there if he wanted.
- The garter toss was pretty funny as well. I'm surprised both Roger and Perrotti failed to comment on it (Perrotti touched on it in a later comment). My first toss of the garter was embarassingly bad, but the second toss was great since Roger snatched it out of the air like it was Star Wars figurine. Then watching him rush to put it on Amy was hilarious. Especially since the DJ made fun of him and made Amy put it on his leg. I believe she grabbed his crotch, but we'll have to go to the video recap for that.
- The dancing by Perrotti and Rob was very disappointing. At least Koho drank enough to not care what he looked like. Trust me, I was probably the worst dancer there and there is probably plenty of proof of it on camera. It was good to see Roger bust a move as well and Ryan Andrew was definitely "That Guy" at the wedding.
- It definitely was hilarious that the priest made fun of Perrotti. I can't get over that.
There are a lot of other good moments, but Perrotti and Roger hit most of them.

As for the honeymoon, I'm sure you all want to hear how it went. We'll lets just start off by saying that I had sex... with a girl. And it was everything I dreamed about. OK, now take a moment to get that image out of your head. The trip was pretty nice, overall I'd give it a B. The reason it didn't get an A is that it rained a lot so we didnt' get much sun, and we got to the resort a day late due to Delta's suckiness (more on that in the next paragraph). The resort was pretty nice, but it didn't handle all of the rain very well. There were puddles everywhere and the pools were gross at the end and needed some cleaning. We were at Sandals though, which is all-inclusive, so that was really nice. I had a ton of white russians. I tried a bunch of girly drinks too since I drink beer all the time at home. The beer they had though actually wasn't bad. They had Heinekin and some other brand called Piton which tasted similar to Amstel Light to me. The food was really good too and there was plenty of it. I'll share the photos with you guys sometime soon.

As for the trip down, it was quite an adventure. Our flight out of Hartford was delayed about half an hour and we only had 40 minutes to make the connection in Atlanta as it was. When we got to Atlanta, we got stuck on the runway for about 5 more minutes and we sprinted from our arrival gate to the next gate. We got there 7 minutes BEFORE the scheduled departure time, with the plane still sitting next to the jetway, but they wouldn't let us on the plane becuase "by law international flights must close the gates 10 minutes prior to departure". The douchebag at the gate told us to go talk to the Delta reps and made it sound like we'd easily get another flight out. Well as you can guess, flying to St. Lucia isn't exactly the same as flying to Chicago. Delta didn't have another flight going there for at least 3 more days, and they couldn't find any other airlines (that they had agreements with) with flights there the same day. So the best possible solution they had was to fly us to Trinidad for the night and then get a flight from there early the next morning. Apparently this isn't even close to the first time Delta has had this problem and the lady at the desk was pissed that it happened again. She was nice enough to help us out though and give us some free drink vouchers for the plane. Luckily for us, we weren't the only couple with this problem. Another couple from Boston had the same issue and they were with us all the way to St. Lucia. They were really nice too so that was cool.

So anyways, we arrive in Trinidad that night and Delta was nice enough to put us up in a hotel room (which they should of). Of course though, they picked the cheapest fucking hotel they could find. We got put in some majorly sketchy hotel about 5 minutes from the airport in basically the ghetto of Trinidad. Our room was something straight out of a horror movie. Dirty sheets on the bed, hot as hell with a 1970's air conditioner, the bathroom was moist, and the remote was sticky. Amazingly they had a TV so we tried to stay up all night watching that because we were afraid to fall asleep. I seriously thought we were going to get raped and murdered in there. I even put the suitcases in front of the doors so that we could hear someone trying to break in and we'd have a little extra time to prepare ourselves for the ass-pounding. Somehow we managed to get about 2 hours of sleep and then we got the hell out of there and back to the airport as early as we could. It was an excellent start to our honeymoon. I'm hoping Judge Dre can get Delta to pay for the day we missed at the resort because it was probably about 15 times more expensive than the hotel room they put us up in that night. Needless to say, we will not be visiting Trinidad again.

They had most major TV stations in St. Lucia, so I was able to keep up with sports for the most part. It sucks that the Red Sox beat the Angels and I lost my bet, but they look like the bad news Bears against the Rays, so that's nice. I hope the Rays crush the Phillies in the World Series, although it is nice to see that the NL East is proving that it actually is a tough division. I was also very happy to see that Perrotti's man-crush Tony "I'm a homo" Romo has been injured and is out for several weeks(on a side note, espn is quoting that RoNo!!! might play this weekend, which sucks for the Giants b/c I was hoping he'd be out for that game. Oh yeah, this is Roger typing). Things like that just make me smile.

Anyways we'll have to hang out together soon (except Roger who left us again). Michelle said I'm allowed to hang out with you guys once a month as long as she is told where we're going and when. Just kidding, I can probably do something Friday and/or Saturday this weekend. Let me know what you're up to.

Koho, stop your complaining. I like you a lot better when you're drunk and not being annoying. I'll have another update tomorrow night on if I get the new shift or not. Today I had a fun phone call where this crazy lady wouldn't let me talk at all. She was upset because her remote wouldn't work her tv(it's really only suppose to work her dish receiver). I tried to talk and she would just yell and cut me off. That was a lot of fun. Besides that it wasn't that bad of a day. Maureen's parents came up for the weekend and it wasn't really that bad. For some reason her dad hasn't really warmed up to me, I think it's more because Maureen is daddy's little girl. He also hates the fact that I have tattooes, which is fine by me. But this weekend we actually got along really well. I bought a big tv a while ago and Maureen thought her parents would freak out over it but her dad really liked it so that's a good sign. Overall I think things went really well. Another good thing is that the Cowboys lost in ot on a blocked punt(ha ha) and the Pats are losing right now, really really bad. Also, the Phillies are getting killed. Check that, it's 7-2 and the Phillies have two guys on with Howard up, I think. It's fun to jinx that. Now for the bad part of the weekend. Notre Dame lost, which sucked. It was a bad loss because they should have won the game, but they gave the game away and then almost had a chance to win it. I forget the degrees of losing that game was. I'll have to look at the Sports Guy references for it, but it was bad. But what's nice, compared to last year, is that in the games that they've lost I really felt like they should have won.

Okay, here's a topic for everyone. What is your favorite new tv show of the year? Mine so far has to be Sons of Anarchy. It has a great cast and the story is pretty good. It's a modern version of Hamlet. What do you guys think?

A Few Quick Things

Sorry, I'd like to say I have a good reason why I haven't put up any updates, but I don't. Maybe I'll blame it on Malone, seems easy enough. Malone, how was the honeymoon? Are you back now? Did you take any pictures? So there were a few shifts that opened here at work. I applied to move to one shift that has Saturday & sunday off, which would be sweet. I miss having a normal weekend. I'll find out on Monday if I got it or not. I'm thinking probably no, but I should have a decent shot. I'm just pessimistic like that. They also have two other positions available at work, one is for QA so I think I can get that one. I just want to know what the schedule will be. It'll probably suck and so I probably won't take it, ha ha. I've also been playing a lot of the new Star Wars game for the ps3. It's pretty fun. You play as Darth Vader's apprentice and you just go around and kill everyone. I just pretend everyone is Koho. Rob, congrats on the Red Sox game 1 win in Tampa. That game could have gone either way but once again the sox prevailed. It's looking like the Phillies will choke in the world series. Good stuff. I'm not going to watch any more of this mess. It's like watching two trains close in on themselves before they crash and kill everyone. Oh well.

.... and the award for worst way to end a season: Well folks, this one was a close one. It was down to two teams, the Cubs and the Angels. And the winner is.... The Angels and this is why. Listen, the Angels were on their way back into this series, into having all of the advantage over the Red Sox going into Game 5. If anyone could pull it out against the Sox it would have been the Angels. They had just dramatically come back in the game to tie it up in the 8th. They had landed a nice left-right-left combo and had Boston against the Ropes. Then, in the top of the ninth they got a lead off double, a sac bunt to put the runner on third and only 1 out! And what do they do? They blow it. Can't you get the bunt down? Really??? Is it that hard. It wasn't the most amazing pitch ever, it was buntable. Then I think it was Willits who messed up going after Bay's ball. If he had just played it off the bounce and kept it in front of him there's no way Bay is getting to second. You'd have a runner on first, 1 out and you'd have your infielders at double play depth. They could have easily gotten 1 out on the next batter and then who knows? Thanks Anaheim, you had a chance to knock out the champs and you blew it. Nothing against the Cubs, it was a nice way to end the season getting swept by the Dodgers, and believe me, not only did I call it but I knew it would help people forget about the Mets. And then the Angels helped somemore. Well, at least I can sleep a little bit better knowing this. Lets go Rays! Or whoever wins the NL(please be the Dodgers).

Sooooo, I'm home now after a good weekend back in CT so I thought I'd a recap of the weekend and at the end I will give out awards. Yes, that's right, awards. You know you want to stay around and read it.

So, I guess I'll start the recap on Thursday, the day I flew in. The flights weren't too bad. I had a stop in Baltimore b/c Southwest doesn't fly direct to Hartford. Not that big of a deal. I had the OSU women's hockey team on my flight to Baltimore. They were on their way to play Providence. So, I arrived in CT around 4:45ish. My cousin, his wife, and their two kids picked me up and then we headed over to my parents' place in Vernon for dinner to celebrate my b-day. It was a fun night. Afterwards my little sister and I went and saw Ghosttown, which I was really surprised by. I kinda wanted to see it but I wasn't sure how good it would be. It was the only movie playing that my sis would watch so we went. As I told a bunch of people while at the movie theater waiting to buy my ticket, the debate was on and out of nowhere I hear someone yell, "You idiot!" I totally thought he was talking to me but he apologized and said he was talking about Palin. Fun stuff. I would recommend the movie to anyone who's a fan of the office. Same type of awkward humor, sort of like Perrotti trying to talk to a girl, since Ricky Gervais was the star of the movie.

Then came Friday. I was woken up early, 7am, to drive my mom to work so I could use her car. After that I went home & back to sleep. That was nice. After I woke up and ate I headed over to the mall to get my tux. Fun time seeing as I had no idea there were two Men's Warehouses in the buckland mall area. So, I went to the first store, paid for my tux and found out it was at the other one! Went to the other one, tried on the tux, it was a little short so one of the ladies loosened the pants so they were longer. Problem was they were too loose. Of course I didn't say anything b/c I thought I could wear a belt. Later on that for Saturday. Soooo, went back home, then picked up my mom, drove her back home, almost saw two people get in a fight at a traffic light b/c one of them was a jerk while driving, dropped off my mom, took a shower and headed to the rehearsal. This is where the fun begins. Actually it doesn't. The rehearsal was fine, but unfortunately there was a mass going on during it so we spent most of the time whispering or in the main lobby. After we figured everything out we then headed out to the dinner. This is where things got interesting. First off, you couldn't even see where the restaurant was. I was following Koho & Perrotti and they drove past it, turned around and got to it. Then we got inside and that's when the alcohol started coming. And here's when it started getting awkward, like really really awkward. Michelle's(see two LL's) sister invited a friend of the family to be her wedding guest. His name is Justin. He's dating a girl named Amy. Michelle's sister's name is Amy. After the wine started to be drunk Amy decided it was time to tell Justin to dump his gf & marry her. Yup, not awkward at all. Especially not when the rest of the ladies joined in and started to tell him this. I will say he took it like a man, though. Also, I was happy to tell my Star Wars jokes around this time b/c Amy had never seen Star Wars & Justin was a big fan. Lets just say she'll never order only one canoli again! Ha ha. Well, after dinner I headed out to Buffalo Wild Wings all the up near the Airport. A nice little 45 minute drive to hang out with one of my friends from high school and some of his friends. We watched a little bit of the Red Sox game and then my friend and I went to one of the guys' house while the other people went home. I watched until JD f'n Drew hit a 2 run bomb to end the game and any chance of the Angels not sucking and Malone being able to win money with his bet with Rob.

Soooo, Saturday finally arrived. It was time to get ready for the wedding. I woke up, took a shower, started putting on my clothes, put the pants on, realized that if I walked 3 steps my pants came off, took my belt, tried to put it on and realized there were no belt loops on my pants. Big Problem. Luckily for me MW hadn't delivered Malone or Koho's suits yet because they measured wrong. So, I got ready, realized I delted the email with Malone's address(as I was suppose to meet there first), got in the car and drove over. I called Malone and found out the tuxes hadn't been delivered yet, told him my problems, got directions and told him to have the guy wait for me. I got to Malone's place just after the guy from MW got there, had him adjust my pants and I was good to go. Well, we waited around Malone's place for a while and then when Malone's mom came we took some pictures and then left for the wedding. The wedding went pretty well except for when Koho and I tried to walk the roller down and kept on getting stuck in it and then the one time when Koho's phone fell out of his suit. Good Job. But, we made it, everything else went smooth. After the wedding Koho took one for the team, road with me instead of the limo to Michelle's parents' place for some food, time to relax, and oh yeah, Notre Dame football! I mean, more pictures. Finally, after Notre Dame took a 21-7 lead we headed over to the reception for some more pictures! After the pictures were done I found out that ND held onto the game for a 28-21 win, and we were in the reception for the fun to start. The wedding party got to go in a side room for our grand entrance. One bad thing was the girls kept on singing that stupid New Kids song and it got stuck in my head. Ugghhhh. Finally the time came. The wedding party got to come out to Bad to the Bone, while Jim & Michelle were lucky enough to come out to the Brass Bonanza. Probably my favorite wedding song since my roommate Jeremy and his wife came out to Darth Vader's theme! You're lucky Jim(on a side note my friend Seth comes in third with coming out to Hulk Hogan's theme music). Well, then we had to do the first dance. I was lucky enough to dance with Jim's mom with this one. While dancing with her we realized that Perrotti and Malone's siter(also named Michele, but with one L) were basically standing in place so we changed it up and I got to dance with Perrotti. J/k, I got Michele. Then we got to eat. And drink. And drink some more. And some more. Then I stopped while other continued. And they drank some more while I had water so I could drive home safely. After the food was consumed then came the dancing. Well, we were able to dance the night away. I go into more details but I think my awards will cover it.

Then came Sunday. I woke up, ate, showered, waited a bit, then packed, left, dropped off my suit, road on some plains and made it home safely. It's good to be back, but I will say this. I do miss you guys back in CT. The only thing I will ever miss from CT. So, onto the awards:

The award for most awkward moment: This goes to Amy from Friday night. At one point, her and Michelle were telling Justin that he should marry Amy. Well, then Amy put her arm around Justin, then Around Michelle and proceeded to push Justin's head onto her boobs. I swear if Justin was single that weekend wouldn't have been a wide open net, Amy would have scored an own goal for him. How Perrotti wasn't able to kick that in is beyond me.

Best song of the weekend: This is going to Journey's Don't Stop Believing. Perrotti & Rob wouldn't come anywhere near the dance floor whatsoever. Well, a request for this song was put in and by this time of night everyone was feeling pretty well. So, the guys went to the dance floor and we all sang our hearts out to this song. My favorite part was when Rob & I were doing the guitar solos.

Worst song of the weekend: New Kids - The Right Stuff. I blame this on the girls. Or whoever wrote the f'n song.

Best idea that never happened: There was this 17-18 year old girl that came to the wedding and had gigantic who-has and wasn't afraid to show them off. Honestly, who okayed that dress? Couldn't someone had told her to cover those up at all? Anyways she was wearing a red dress. While we were eating and they were playing music I told Koho to go request lady in red, go over to her, tell her he requested this song for her, and then ask her to dance. Yes, it might be a bit cheesy but whatever. I'm just trying to help a brother out.

Best dancer at the wedding: I have to give that up to Ryan Andrew. He was constantly on the dance floor through good song and bad. He's the type of guy you want at your wedding if you want it to be fun.

Worst dancers at the wedding: Rob & Perrotti - First off, it's okay if you don't know how to dance. We're at a wedding, most of the people are drunk, no one really cares if you have two left feet. At least you have two feet. Second off, couldn't one of you guys ask one of the 2-5 single girls there to dance during a slow song? We're not in junior high anymore. They will say yes. Well, unless you're perrotti and the other girl is at least 5'6.

MVP of the weekend: There's actually two. I thought he had it closed up on Saturday but the first one goes to Jimmy Clausen. Second straight week in a row that you set a personal record for most yards in a game. He threw for over 340 yards, 3 td's, no pics. He's putting up a really great season. I can't wait for next year when he wins the Heisman. The second one goes to Eli Manning. When I finally got the airport and got to my terminal I had an hour to kill. By that time the Giants were up 17-3. By the time I left to go on my flight the giants were up 34-6. Eli had an amazing game. He tore apart the Seahawks. I really can't think of another QB who's playing with more confidence than Eli. I'm loving it.

LVP of the weekend: Jim's stepmom. I probably shouldn't write this but when has it ever stopped me? We all know there's a little bit of a grudge going on but did you have to a look on your face like a dentist was pulling your teeth? Really? That's all I'll say about it.

Favorite moment of the weekend: I would have to just say the reception on Saturday night. It was just a lot of fun hanging out with the guys, acting like idiots, having fun dancing whenever anyone would go out there and dance. I'll say it again, I don't miss CT at all, but I do miss my friends from CT.

So, I'll end this very long post by saying this, Jim and Michelle, thanks for the invite to be in the wedding. It was the first time I'd been part of a wedding and it was a lot of fun. There were a couple times it could have gone bad(thank you men's wearhouse) but it didn't. It was a load of fun and I'm glad I was there. I hope you guys have fun on the honeymoon. Now, you guys better visit me or.................I'll come back and paint that state with flames like Sherman through the South!

Sooooo, I'll keep this real short. I'm back in Ct now. I got back last night, it was a nice trip. Two quick flights, one to baltimore & one to hartford. On my way to B-more I had the women's OSU Hockey team on my flight. I got to have dinner with my family to celebrate my b-day. That was fun. Malone, you're under 23 hours til the big day. Too bad we don't have a clock you could wear around your head like that guy had in the espn commercial for the live sportscenter. I actually laughed at a couple of those, especially the one where he was playing whirleyball(I'm still upset I didn't get to go @ ticketnetwork). One of my favorite random games to play. Rob, is there anyway that you could keep a running commentary of the wedding on your iphone? I think that would be great. On a side note, I came up with a great line to use in a book. I don't know what kind of book it would be but here it is(I actually sent this to a friend of mine from high school to describe my job of coming back to hartford)"I want to paint this town with flames like Sherman through the South." For those of you who don't know what I'm talking about, in the Civil War the North had a general named William T. Sherman and he lead one of the Federal Armies through the South to capture the Southern Army. While going through Georgia, he was known for burning down the towns that he went through. See, you guys learn something new every day!

The end of September

Ahhhhh, I think I might have come up with a good idea now. Maybe at the end of every month I'll write about what happened this past month. Actually I'm going to start that next month. This month was wayyyy to depressing(except for Notre Dame looking pretty good this season) so I decided I'd give Shea it's fair fairwell. I'll miss the stadium, even if people think it's a dump. (Before I start, does anyone know what happened to cowbellman? I watched a bunch of Mets games on tv this year and I don't think I heard him at any of the games? He's just as much part of Shea Stadium as Mr. Met, Mrs. Met, and losing heartwrenchingly.) I decided to talk about the 5 best games that I went to at Shea. Here we go kids!

#1. Game 1 NLCS 2006. I went to this game with Malone, his dad and Malone's gf. That was probably the greatest season that I remember of the Mets. Sooo many clutch games, sooo many amazing wins, Wright, Reyes, Beltran, Delgado all going insane during the season. So, the day before the NLCS started I was at work and Malone and I found out that there were plenty of leftover tickets that TicketNetwork was trying to sell. Well, as usual there were tickets left over so Malone and I talked to Jeff, one of the upper management guys and he said that he'd sell us the tickets around face price. We were happy, but I had to see if I could get a half day so we could leave on time. Well, then Don the owner came by, and he knew we were both Mets fans and said instead of around face price, he'd give them to us at half price. Can you really beat that? Game 1 NLCS for half price? Well, I quickly called my boss and was able to have him give me a half day so I could go to the game. It was actually a pretty good pitching duel. I can't for the life of me remember who pitched for the Cardinals, I think maybe it was Jeff Weaver(remember him Yankee fans?) against Tom Glavine(before I knew him as Benedict Arnold). Tied at 0-0 going into the bottom of the 6th and one man on, Beltran crushed a pitch for a 2 run homer and the Mets ended up winning 2-0. What an amazing game. I think that season I went to 8 games and the Mets ended up going 7-1 in those game. By far the most games I've been to in one season.

2. Mets-Gaints 2007 - This one just gets into the #2 spot over #3 & 4. There were a bunch of us who went. Me, Malone, his dad, koho, perrotti, my gf, and 3 of her friends. I took the day off from work(and I think I bought Madden that day, too) and we made it down so we could tailgate. It was a great day out. We played home run derby with the wiffleball(Koho finished last of course) and then we went in for a great game. Timmy L was pitching for the Giants, he was a rookie that was suppose to be amazing but we didn't really know too much about him. He was pitching against Oliver Perez, who was streaky like he's always been. Randy Win lead off the game with a hr and they added another hr in the first to take a 2-0 lead. That didn't last too long as Delgado hit a 2 run homer to tie it. Then later Beltran smacked a double to drive in Reyes to take a 3-2 lead. As usual the Mets gave that lead up with a solo shot to tie the game. Into the 12th it went and Joe Smith ended up giving up a run so the Giants took a 4-3 lead. In the bottom of the 12th though, Armando Benitez came in to "save" the game. Reyes ended up walking to lead off the inning, was balked to second, took third on a grounder and then was balked home to tie the game. Delgado followed that with his second home run to win the game. Just amazing. Sadly the last win I ever saw at Shea.

#3. Yankees-Mets May 2006 - This was a weird weekend Subway Series at Shea. In game 1 the Mets won 7-6 with a David Wright walk off single off of Mo Rivera. Game 2 the Mets were up big but blew it when Wagner had a melt down going into a non save situation. I went to game 3. Sunday night on ESPN. I actually had Mono at this time. I had also just graduated from college with a second BA. Much fun. As a birthday present to my little sis I bought 4 tickets to this game so I went with both of my sisters and my younger sister's friend, who is a die hard yankee's fan. I had to look this up because I couldn't remember who pitched for the Yankees but it was Aaron "You're killing me" Smalls. The Yankees had taken a 2-0 lead into the 5th when Smalls went to work. With two on and Delgado up he gave up a huge shot to Delgado for the Mets to take a 3-2 lead and gave up a second hr to Wright, the next batter. Glavine pitched that game and go the win. Funny, I went to a Mets Yanks game the year before and Glavine pitched and won that one. Well, the Mets hung on the win that game and the best part about it, besides thew in, was the fact that Arod went 0-4 in the game, each at bat being critical and leaving 7 on base. At the end of the game my sis's friend realized that Yes, Arod is not clutch.

#4. Cardinals-Mets August 2006 - By far the best seats I've ever had. I sat in the Metropolitan section where you had a waiter come over and take your order for food and drinks. I went to the game, once again, with Malone, his dad, Koho, and Perrotti. This was the craziest game I've ever been to. Delgado had just hit his 400th home run the day before. The Mets took an early 1-0 lead before Pujols decided to put on a show hitting 2 home runs, a three run bomb and then a grand slam as the Cardinals took a 7-1 lead off of John Maine after 4 1/2 innings. Well, that didn't stop the Mets. Delgado hit a grand slam of his own and the Mets were able to cut it to 7-6 going into the bottom of the ninth. Issy was pitching and with Lo Duca on Beltran hit a game winning 2 run bomb for the 8-7 Mets win. Just an awesome game. It's just one of the best feelings leaving Shea after a win and they're blasting "Taking care of business everyday!" as you leave the ballpark.

#5. Phillies - Mets August 2006 - I went to this game in the beginning of the Month. The woman was doing a rotation in NYC so I went down on the first weekend to hang out with her. On Saturday we decided to go to the Mets game and look for a scalper... broker and buy two tickets. We got pretty decent seats and made it just in time. In the first inning Ryan Howard hit an oppo shot to give the Phils a 3-0 lead, but in the bottom of the first Lastings drove in Reyes to get the Mets on board. In the bottom of the sixth Wright hit a single to drive in Beltran to cut the lead to 1 and then Endy followed with a double into the gap to drive in Delgado and Wright to give the Mets the lead. In the top of the ninth with runners on the corner Wright made a diving catch with two outs to preserve the win. Just an amazing game. Sadly most of these games came in 2006. Sad because of how the season ended. Oh well. I'll see you guys soon back in CT. Malone, I want my money for the Home Run league and if I get any money for the other TND league(see Rob you can't make fun of my fantasy baseball teams).

R.I.P. Shea Stadium

So, here's the weekend recap, uggghhhh. So, Friday sucked. The Mets lost, the brewers won, the Phillies won and clinched a playoff spot. Then came Saturday. I was at work so I didn't get to see the Mets game but when I got back home I got a call from Malone letting me know that Santana is the best pitcher in baseball. Well, it's either him or C.C. Mike, you sure you still don't want him on the Spankees? Yeah, I'm gonna go with I'd like him on my team. Anywho, Santana was awesome, complete game shutout and somehow the Mets offense was able to score 2 runs and we won the game. I was able to watch the end of the Cubs - Brewers game and watched the Cubs pull it out. Even though they didn't play any of their starters. Sadly once again I had hope. Hope that maybe Oliver Perez could come through with another big game, come through in the clutch like he has in the past, like he was playing the Yankees. I'm not asking for too much, am I? I wasn't. Perez had a good game. Only two runs given up, that should have been enough to win the game. I was only able to watch the 7th inning and on. And of course, that's when the Marlins took over and quickly closed their hands around the Mets throat or was that the Mets putting their own hands around their throat? Who knows. Nothing better than our achillies heel, our bullpen and watching them give up back to back home runs for the Mets to lose. Joy.

Here's my question. You're Omar, you've just signed a four year extension and you've watched your team blow a lead in the last games of the division, both times being eliminated by the Marlins. What do you do this offseason? We've cleared up some cap room(well, like there really is a salary cap) with Pedro gone, Alou gone, El Duke gone. We'll probably re-sign Delgado & Oliver Perez. We have no idea what's going to happen with John Maine since he's going to have surgery this offseason. The bullpen is crap. Wagner will never be a Met again so there's no closer. The offense is set. We don't need to go after anyone. I don't want Dunn on this team. There's no need to go after Teixera in the offseason. We just need to focus on pitching. Now, I can't yell this loud enough to Omar, Do Not Go After Ben Sheets! If you thought Pedro was always injured, just wait to see what happens if you sign Sheets! It'll make Pedro look like Cal Ripken, Jr. I'd say take a shot at C.C. Offer him Santana type money(I'm pretty sure that would cover Pedro, Alou, & El Duke's salaries). He's said that he would like to stay in the NL. He likes to hit. He's also pitched amazingly so far in the NL. I'd love to have a 1-2-3-4-5 of Santana, CC, Maine, Perez, Pelfrey. That's a rotation the Mets can have for at least 4-5 years and would be the best in baseball. Will it happen? Probably not, but I can always dream. Secondly, we need a closer. And more help in the bullpen. Call the Padres up. See if we can get Heath Bell back. Go ahead and sign either K-Rod or Fuentes to close. Trade Heilman to some team who's looking for a starter(he'd like to start and might be better at that) for some more bullpen help and also make sure they're not 35 and about to break down. Please. Then trade the rest of the bullpen for a bunch of baseball and a welcome mat for citifield. Then we can call up guys from the minors to replace them. So, we'll see what happens.

On a good note I was really really impressed with Notre Dame on Saturday. By far their most complete game of the season. I'm not sure if it means much because we beat Purdue, but it was nice to see Jimmy Clausen have by far his best game at ND. We could also by far have the best young receiver core in college football. Golden Tate is amazing and so is Michael Floyd. I like Duval Kamara even though they don't throw to him much. He's just a big dude and he's hard to cover. Kyle Rudolph will be a great TE for the Irish. And the best part about this? They're all Freshman and Sophmores. Can't go wrong with that. I knew Golden Tate was going to be great, but I'm really surprised the most with Michael Floyd. Lets just hope they keep it up.

Lastly, has anyone watched the new Knight Rider tv show? I watched the tv movie and it was pretty decent but I missed the first episode and I don't know if I want to get into another tv show. Time will tell.

What a night it was last night. I just can't believe what went down. First off, I'm glad Malone smacked Rob down. You can't say the Mets would have lost because at worst the Mets would have tied it with Delgado on Second, Beltran on first and Church up who already had 3 rbi's on the night. Who's saying he doesn't come through and win it? But anyways, that was a great slide by Church and then an even bigger hit by Beltran. I couldn't believe it and I watched both plays on mlb.com like 10 times each. That was a classic Mets win to come after a classic Mets loss. Now we're down to the final 3 games with Pelfrey & Santana pitching two of those games. Also, I think the Brewers are going to play the Cubs in the last 3 games, so that'll be difficult for them. It's going to be very interesting. Also, the brewers win was insane with a walk off grand slam to win it. Stupid Pirates.

Also just as big last night was USC losing to Oregon State. I love whenever USC loses. It's just great. It also messed up the national championship, which is just as great because maybe people will realize that we need a playoff system finally.

Rob, wouldn't march madness be a worse time for you guys than this time? I just remember it sucking because peoples tickets would go into the wrong category because in the first two rounds you could buy tickets for the first game or the second game or both games and the tickets would always go in the wrong area. Ha ha, I'm glad I don't have to mess with that anymore!!

Okay I'm Back

Okay, sorry about not really responding much this week, its been such an up and down week that's its distracted me a little bit. So lets get on with what's going on.

First off, Rob there is no way in Hell I'd ever root for the Red Sox again. I actually rooted for them against the Yankees in 2003 and they let me down. Then came 2004 and all of the bandwagon fans and now I actually hate the Sox more than the Yankees. If, unfortunately, the Mets do not make it to the playoffs then I'm cheering for the Rays to win it all. That's who I'm going for.

Last night I had softball. It was okay. We mercied the other team in the first game but in the second game we lost. I'm not even sure how we lost that second game. Well, actually I do. We did the dumb thing and threw the ball around when they had people on base and they ended up scoring like 7 unearned runs because of this and we lost by 6 so there you go. I actually played well this week and for the first time ever I batted lefty and I actually hit a pretty good single. It was a hard shot straight up the middle. I think I'm going to keep on trying to bat lefty and see how it goes.

Now onto the mess that is the Mets. That was an absolutely horrible, horrible loss. I only got to watch until the Mets gave away their 5-1 lead. When I got back from softball was when the bottom of the 10th started so I was happy that I missed most of the crap. Once again I'm really starting to hate this team. I don't hate them like I hated them last year. This team actually looks like they want to play where as last year it seemed like they didn't really care. Delgado's grand slam was awesome but then they just sucked the rest of the time. I don't get it. Oh well.
Lets hope that Harden gets hurt early on and we can get to their bullpen tonight and maybe Pedro can come through. I doubt it, but oh well. Malone, we need a new bullpen. Release all of them and sign new players. I can't wait to see the free agent list and see who the Mets should get and who Omar won't get. I don't get the 4 year extension? Why didn't they wait until after the season?

Rob, I don't think there are a lot more Pats fans than Giants fans in Ct. I think it's pretty even and also when you get to southern ct there area more Giants fans than Pats fans. But, it doesn't really matter because the pats will be horrible this year, Randy Moss will take the season off, and the Giants will have a good year. It's kinda scary that the 3 best teams in the NFL are in the NFC East. Where did this come from?

Monday, uggghhhh

Well, it's Monday night after a pretty crappy weekend, ha ha. It really all started Friday when I noticed my car was making a funny noise when I would turn to the right. Well, that lead to Saturday when the Irish lost. The annoying thing was the fact that I knew they should have won that game. They had two turnovers in the red zone and missed two field goals and that was really the difference. Besides that, I really liked the passing game and Michael Floyd and Golden Tate will be known as two of the greatest wide receivers ever at Notre Dame. Well, that lead to Sunday where the Giants played down to the Bengals and barely beat them in O.T. Add onto that the Mets going down in flames at the end of the season once again and that's just a great weekend/Monday. Well, after work today I took my car to get repaired and now I get to pay $500+ for it. Just a great 3 days, ha ha. Oh yeah, Rob I forgot to say my last tat is on my left arm just above my elbow inbetween my tricept & bicept. After all the crappy sports stuff, I just don't have it in me today to write a big post. Maybe tomorrow. Maybe.

So Rob, here's the story to make you happy. It's starts a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away. Just kidding. On a side note I looked for the Dave Dravecky breaking his arm both times on youtube and it's not there. Oh well. So here we go:

The Beginning: Yeah, I'm going to be cheesy and break things up into pieces so here we go. I've wanted a tattoo ever since I was about 16 or 17. I'm not really sure what made me want to get them, maybe it was because of the music I listened to(punk/hardcore/ska music) but alot of the groups that I listened to had tats. I can remember around the time of my 17th birthday asking my mom if I could get a tat for next year. She calmly said no. And I'm actually glad she said no. I was going to make one of the biggest mistakes you can do when getting a tattoo. I wanted to get a Rage Against The Machine logo(the only other bigger mistake would be to get a gf'/bf's name tattooed on you) on my chest. I wanted to get the E they had on their Evil Empire cd. It's pretty cool looking but shortly after they would break up. So, I was saved from making a huge mistake but the idea of getting a tattoo was in my head and I knew sooner or later I would get one.

Other People: Well high school ended and I headed off to college. During my sophmore year a friend of mine went and got a tat done across his back. He was the first friend that I knew who got one. It didn't seem that bad but I remember that he could shower for 3 days(and thus smelled during that time, ha ha). That's when I realized that there were a lot more people that I knew who had them or ended up getting them. College ended and I entered the work force. I moved back home after college and it wasn't too bad. How can you go wrong when you don't have to pay rent, utilities, or for food? My only expenses were my cell phone and my car insurance, which was really little because I didn't have any speeding tickets or accidents. I can remember that I would have 2 or 3 pay checks on my floor because I didn't need to cash them and I didn't have direct deposit. Now that I think back to it it's crazy that I was lucky to live that way. Maybe I should have stayed living at home?(There was really no point in telling this part I just thought I'd make this story really too long) Maybe not. Well, after a year of living at home my parents decided to charge me for rent. Well, this didn't sit overwell with me so I decided to move out. I had two friends from my high school who had just rented out a condo and they had an extra room(it was a loft) and they wanted to reduce their bills so I decided to move in with them. Well about 6 or 7 months after living with them one of my roommates Adam and another friend from High School John decided to get tats at the same time. So, they setup their appointments and got their tats. Hmmmm... those seemed cool and I knew I wanted to get at least one but I didn't know what. So I waited for the right inspiration.

A Young Roger In Love: Everyone knows that you can't have a great story without involving love in it. So, after about a year of living in the condo one of my roommates decided to move home(he was going through law school and was working for his dad, a financial planner, and it would just be better for him) so my other roommate Adam and I decided to move to Manchester and live in the Pavillions. Well, at this time I was still working for the company I had been working for since after college, IPT. Well, after about 3 months of living in Manchester and being single for a while a friend of mine had suggested that I meant a friend of his gf's up at Uconn(his gf was still up at Uconn going through her pharmacy studies with Malone's soon to be wife). Well, at the same time at IPT we had hired a new secretary who actually lived in Glastonbury for a little bit and now lived in Portland. So, a date was setup for my friends and I to have a group outing with my friend's gf's friends and for me to meet this lady. She had no idea we were being setup but still a good time was had by all(I think we went to Ted's, but I could be wrong). Well, at the same time I had started talking to the secretary from work and we seemed to be getting along together. Well, the Thursday after meeting from friend's gf's friend Maddy(short for Madeline) I ended up going to the Uconn-Pitt football game with the girl from work, Kelly. You see kids I'm not the best decision maker out there. I know, shocking! Ha ha. And another thing that seems to happen to me is that when I'm looking for something, may it be a new job or a girlfriend I'll go a long time without any success and then all of a sudden it'll seem like I've hit a jackpot and will have a lot of options. Well, this was one of those times. You see I could either go after Maddy or I could go after Kelly. I'm not one of those types who wants to date two or more girls at the same time. It's hard enough dating one! And seeing as how I'm soooo good at making the right decision I decided to date Kelly because, well, she lived closer. Yup, that's right. Because she lived closer. Well, as you can tell I made the wrong decision, not that dating Maddy would have been a better decision and frankly I think I'm glad I didn't because I got really lucky later on, but what I ended up going through with Kelly nearly destroyed me. I wasn't ready for a girl like Kelly. Have you ever dated someone who you knew wasn't right for you but you didn't want to hear it? Well, Kelly was that girl for me. I think I stayed in the relationship because I had never been in one for more than a month before, which is sad but true. And Kelly had tattooes, she had a bunch of them. Both of her feet had ink on them, one on her stomach and I can't remember where else. But, after 6 months I knew I couldn't date her anymore so we broke up and I was devistated.

The Aftermath: Well, for some reason it took me forever to get over Kelly. It was bad. Really bad. I ended up going out a lot and getting drunk at bars and then driving myself home. I'm surprised I never ever got a DUI or pulled over at all. There were soooo many times something could have happened but I was lucky and got away from it. I'm not happy about what I did and I wish I could take it back but it is what it is. I got lucky and I've learned from those decisions. Well, after we broke up I started a new job at TicketNetwork. Back then there were 20 employees. I really liked the job and I was making a lot of money there because I was selling tickets and back then we got commission for the tickets we sold. It was unfair. Really, after all of the heads of departments I was probably the highest paid employee there. I was making over $1,000/week. I'd never made that much before. Well, something about the breakup triggered what I like to call a mid 20's crisis. And I've actually heard other people going through them too. I just felt like I needed to do something to prove myself to Kelly, even though we were dating and I hadn't talked to her since we did(for some reason I'm the type of guy who once we're over, we're over. I won't call you back). It was strange but for some reason I felt that I wasn't man enough for her and I had to prove myself, even though I didn't. So, I made some changes. I decided I wanted to get a motorcycle and I started looking into getting my license. I dyed my hair jet black(I've done this twice before in college. The first time I didn't leave the dye in long enough and my hair turned a black/blueish color. The second time I got it right, ha ha) and I decided I wanted at least two tattooes. But what to get?

The First One: There's one thing that my friends from high school know me for, besides my love for the Mets, Notre Dame, The Giants, The Blues and weird music is my love of movies. I love going to the movies. I love watching movies on tv. I love buying movies. I don't know what it is but I love movies. Heck, on my days off I would go to the movies alone. Actually I still go to the movies alone. Well, there's one movie that has stuck to me, that has made a great impact on my life, and surprisingly I was thinking about Star Wars, ha ha. It's the movie the Boondock Saints. I don't know what it is but I just love the movie. Wel, there's always been a rumor of a sequel so I would checkout the website from time to time to see what was going on. Wel, on the website there's pictures of people who love the movie also and there were a lot of people who who have gotten things from the movie tattooed on them. Aha! I had an idea of what I wanted to get! Also, my roommate and I, when we had moved to Manchester decided to buy a bunch of posters and one of them that we got was a Boondock Saints poster. On it you can see what the brothers have tattooed on their hands. One brother has a tat on his left index finger and the other a tat on his right index finger. The brother with the left hand has "VERITAS" and the right has "AEQUITAS". Well, I couldn't exactly get that tattooed down my finger so I came up with a better idea. Get it down the back of my arms! So, I setup my first appointment. I decided to go with VERITAS first. For those of you who don't know it is latin for truth. And so, on a friday I went and got my first tat done. My roommate drove and his gf(now wife) came along. I went to Green Man Tattoo in West Hartford. Afterwards we went to the movies with some friends and I showed them the new tat.

The Second One: Well, after I got my first one I knew I was now addicted to it. I'm not sure what it was about it, but I knew I wanted more. I knew I was going to get at least one more but I wanted more than that. I also wanted to expand on them. But things around them. Well, the Monday after I got my first one I setup an appointment to get my second one done. I went with the same guy and went the next Friday. This time I went alone. So, after 8 days I now I had two tattooes. Also, for those of you who don't know, AEQUITAS is latin for Equality or Justice.

The Third One: So the addiction grew. I wanted another one and I wanted it bad. But what to get? What did I want? I couldn't really decide? There were some ideas that I had but none of them really stuck with me. I know that eventually I'd like to have a Star Wars tattoo but I wasn't sure what I wanted. I started to look different things up. Here are some ideas that I had: A Yin/Yang symbol but with either a half Decepticonz, half Autobots symbols instead of with a half Empire, half Rebellion from Star Wars, I thought about getting a cross going over VERITAS, or getting the Irish mascot with holding a Guiness in one hand. In the end I decided to go with something that would represent my family. Well, the nationality that I associate with the most is being Norwegian. When I was younger, like back in elementary school or middle school my grandmother researched my family line all the way back to a Norwegian King. It was King Olaf who was King of Norway for about a whole 3-4 years before being killed in battle. Probably the thing that Olaf is known for the most is sending Leif Erickson to explore the West, and as people know, Leif ended up finding North America. So I decided that I wanted to get a shield with the Norwegian flag in it. I ended up getting my last tattoo about 3 or 4 months after my first two. In fact I think I used my tax return to pay for it. Ha ha.

The Hidden Reason: I also think probably the strongest reason for me to get them is because I've always felt just like an average person. There's nothing special about me, nothing that makes me stand out from the next guy. I've never done anything great, nothing that would make people, and by people I really mean women, to notice me. I think I've had this sort of complex since high school when I started to be interested in girls. I guess I've wanted to stand out in some way but since I've never been really great at anything I had to do something else. And well, having tattooes is definitely a way to stand out, especially when you see some random dude walking away and there's something tattooed down his arms. I've had a bunch of people ask me what I have and what it means. Actually the funniest story I have with someone asking about them was I was at Hooters one day with my old roommate(who has at least 6 of them) and another friend our waitress came over and saw my AEQUITAS tat and asked if that was my last name? AEQUITAS? Last Name? Ha ha. It was also funny because my old roommate has a lot more than I do and she noticed mine. See how it works? Now, all I have to do is convince the wife to allow me to get more. I don't think it'll happen, but whatever. I still have the urge to get more and some day I'd like to get some. We'll see what happens.

Okay so I'm back now. So I'm going to try and make this a long one because there's a bunch of stuff to talk about now, and I'm sorry Koho, but I will be talking about baseball. Ha ha. Here we go. I'll leave the recap of Friday and Saturday alone since I got such a negative reaction. Perrotti, the guys name is Dave Dravecky(spell?). I read his book when I was younger. Here's what it says about him in wikipedia "The following season, a cancerous desmoid tumor was found in Dravecky's pitching arm. He underwent surgery on October 7, 1988, removing half of the deltoid muscle in his pitching arm and freezing the humerus bone in an effort to eliminate all of the cancerous cells. By July 1989, he was pitching in the minors, and on August 10, he made a highly publicized return to the major leagues, pitching 8 innings and defeating Cincinnati 4-3. In his following start five days later against the Expos, Dravecky pitched three no-hit innings, but in the fifth inning, he felt a tingling sensation in his arm. In the sixth inning he started off shaky, allowing a home run to the lead off batter and then hitting the second batter. Then, on his first pitch to Tim Raines, his humerus bone snapped, ending his career.
To see a pitcher break his arm with a loud cracking sound while doing something as ordinary as throwing a pitch, then fall to the ground rolling in agonizing pain, was shocking, unusual, and upsetting, especially for those who had followed his touching story. The pitch was replayed on television repeatedly over the following days.
The Giants won the National League pennant in 1989 (defeating the Chicago Cubs in the NLCS in five games), and in the post-game celebration, Dravecky's arm was broken a second time by Kevin Mitchell and Kelly Downs. A doctor examining Dravecky's x-rays noticed a mass in his arm. Cancer had returned. Eighteen days later, Dravecky retired from baseball, leaving a 64-57 record with 558 strikeouts and a 3.13 ERA in 1,062.2 innings. He won the 1989 Willie Mac Award honoring his spirit and leadership."

Next onto some positive things. I was really impressed with the Notre Dame win this past Saturday. I watched it when I got back from Malone's house(which I might add on the side is an awesome place. I was really impressed by it, it's huge, has a basement, which needs to be finished ASAP, and has a nice back yard. Good buy there Malone) I watched the game in about 30 minutes before falling asleep. I already knew that they won because I was texting during the Mets shame of a game on Saturday but it was different to see the way they won. 6 turnovers and some of them at crucial times. I like this defense. It reminds me of the '05 defense but better and faster. It's always great to beat Michigan, even when they're rebuilding. Everybody better watch out for Jimmy Clausen, Golden Tate, and my favorite freshman Michael Floyd. This offsense will be a lot better than last year and I think the defense will be too.

Now onto the Giants. Too be honest, I'm really surprised at how good they are this year. I knew Eli was going to be confident(how can you blame him after last season?) but I thought maybe the defense would be not as good. Yup, I'm wrong. The defense is still insane and the offsense has been rolling, even if we beat up on St. Louis which Jim Rome is betting could be the first 0-16 season. Also, I need to order a Justin Tuck jersey. I was happy when the Giants drafted him(he's Notre Dame's all time sacks leader) but I wasn't sure how good he'd be in the pros. Yeah, don't have to worry about that anymore, ha ha. What's great is the fact that in Columbus I can happily say that Notre Dame's best pro player is better than any of Ohio State's pro players and there really isn't an argument. Actually I'm trying to think of the best OSU player and I can't really come up of one. Maybe Chris Gamble? Anthony Gonzalez? Eh, whatever.

So, now onto the bad. Nothing better than you're last Mets game at Shea being a classic Mets let down. Just great. You could just tell the bullpen was going to blow it. You know, Santana should be 20-7 right now and should have the Cy Young locked up. But no, the bullpen's blown 7 wins(could be 8 I can't remember) and he's really just an afterthought. Lets hope something good happens tonight when he pitches. I'm not toooooo concerned with the Mets losing the NL East lead. First off it's only 1/2 game and we're tied in the loss column. That's the most important thing. Secondly there's also the Brewers who have fallen harder than the Mets. Even if the Mets don't win the NL East I think they'll take the Wild Card. Either way when they make the Post Season I'm going to like either match up. I really hope the Dodgers don't blow it and make it. If the Mets win the NL East it'll be a great series between the two teams. Manny back in NY for the NLDS? How great would that be? Or, will the Cubs throw away another great season? Should be great. I also think in the offseason the Mets will go after either Brian Fuentes or K-Rod. It would make sense since we need sooooooooo much help. We'll see.

Rob, I promise tomorrow I will post the story about my tats. And it won't be the short version, it'll be the really really long version.

Okay, so after spending 14 hours in a car yesterday I'd ready for another four hours today before I spend another 12 hours tomorrow. You'd think I was dating my car. Okay, that was dumb. Anywho Malone, you need to remember never to post drunk. It's just not a good thing. Well, last night was Jimmy Boy's Bachelor party. It was pretty fun and it was good to hang out with my friends from ticketnetwork..... oh yeah and Perrotti & Koho. I forgot about them. Actually I didn't because we're about to go to the Mets game! I think the highlight of the night was when Koho got to announce the winners of the raffel and everyone gave him crap for it. Ha ha, it was pretty funny. My second favorite part at the stag was playing blackjack and not really caring if I won or lost because I had decided just to lose my money because it goes to Malone(we all know he needs it, j/k). In fact at one point I was playing 3 hands and one of them I got nine's, and I split them, then I my first nine got another nine and I split that, then I got a 2 and doubled down and got 19. I think on my 5 hands I had 19,19, 20, 18, 21 and the dealer hit 21(we were playing that if it's a push the dealer wins). The dealer was pretty cool and let me keep my money from the 21, ha ha. Overall it was a good time, unlike my drive to Ct. I won't write about it because it just gets me angry. After the Stag a bunch of us went out to a bar. I was vetoed about going to Hartford or going to Murphy's. If you think I'm not bitter about that, you have another thing coming to you. Actually I'm not because we had a lot of fun at the bar. Of course the bad thing about going to a bar is the fact that it's really loud and I almost lost my voice. It's still a little sore but should be okay for me to yell at the Braves today. Should be fun. Well, it's time for me to shower and then head over to Malone's place to egg it. I mean go to the Mets game.

Well, well well. Thanks to everyone for the comments. It's nice to see posts that have 10, 12, 15, 17 comments on them. I was going to post this yesterday but I was tired so I'm writing it today, plus I'm going to add a couple things so this should be pretty long, which should make Rob happy. See, look, I'm trying to make my readers happy. Don't let anyone say I don't try!

Anywho, I just got back from the dentist, which always sucks because I grind my teeth and they're really really worn out(I do wear a mouth guard) so it sucks going there. So, that was fun. I'm playing in a fall softball co-ed league. The weird thing is I'm actually playing with girls who know how to play. That's never happened before, usually I play with one girl who knows what she's doing and the rest just suck. The guys on the team are pretty good too. Funny thing is last night we had one guy who actually started the inning and ended the inning striking out. It's a one pitch league, but still. The first time he was looking and the second time swinging. I thought Koho was out there. We won our first three games but last night we got killed. It's okay, we're 3-1 and probably one of the better teams in the league. I was sucking at hitting in our first week but I hit a little better last night. In our two games I was 3-5, 2 doubles, 2 walks, 3 runs, 3 rbi's. I'm also playing the outfield, which I played for the first time last year. I'd like to pitch but the coach has this one girl pitching, she's pretty good but she got pounded in the last game. Personally I think I would have done a little better just because I've learned how to pitch inside and outside to hitters. Of course knowing me I would have given up 40 runs(sadly wouldn't have been the first time), but still. I'd be nice to go out and pitch a game or two.

Work hasn't been too bad. I think I said this before, but it's like being an account manager at TicketNetwork only no Logmein (sniff, sniff). I'm still going to look for a new job but only if the job pays more than the one I have now. Or, if I can get a human resources position. I wouldn't mind going into HR. Maybe I'll get lucky and another HR position will open up at work. Doubt it, but we'll see.

Just like Malone said, I knew that Wright had struggled in the 9th inning. I remember watching the game right after Willie was fired and Wright had 1 hit in the 9th inning. Then he went out and got the game winning hit. I think another reason why people don't pay as much attention is the fact that Arod makes $20 million more than Wright. Also Mike, remember how you made fun of me for saying that the Yankees should have gotten Miguel Cabrera and how Arod was such a better player than him. Well, let's compair stats again, because well, I find it fun. Miguel's stats first: 291 average, 33 hr, 116 rbis, 74 runs, 32 doubles, .353 obp, .535 slug. Arod's stats: 308 average, 33 hrs, 95 rbis, 99 runs, 32 doubles, .398 obp, .588 slug. Arod has him in a couple categories but not by much. Plus Cabrera is like 7 years younger and has won a world series. Just thought I'd put that out there. Also, you guys have the highest payroll and you're in 4th in the AL East. I really don't know if Cashman will have his job past this year because of what the team has done, the players that he's signed and not trading for Santana. Andy P had a great start to the season but he's struggled lately. Depending on Mr Kennedy, Kennedy & Phil "Howard" Hughes failed, miserably. Giving Arod way to much money for way too long, I just don't see how you can keep him.

Now, here's the Notre Dame portion of the blog. Last week's game was horrendous, but you know what I'm still feeling positive about this season. I think they can still win 10 games and hopefully will go to a decent bowl game. The offense was horrible for the first 3 quarters but they picked it up in the fourth. Hopefully they can take that and run with it for the rest of the season. I really like Jimmy Clausen. I think he'll be the best qb to ever play at ND by the time he leaves to go to the NFL. I remember when Brady Quinn was at ND for his freshman & sophmore years and he played well but I think that Clausen is just more advanced, more confident than Quinn. Now, if Brady had had Charlie Weis as his coach his first two years I think both him and Jimmy would probably be in the same stages. Unfortunately Brady had to deal with Willingham. I don't know why people think the Irish will lose to Michigan because they played close to SD State. Look what Michigan's done. They lost at home to Utah and then barely beat Miami of Ohio. Not exactly a hard team to beat. Now they have to go to South Bend and they're suppose to win that one? I don't think so. So, we'll see what happens. Or, at least I'll find out after I get back from the Mets game on Saturday.

Back to baseball for a minute. I forgot to put this in the past paragraph and I don't feel like scrolling up to it so here it is. That was a HUGE series by the Rays. The last two games were crazy and I think they'll win the division and I can see them going to the World Series. When Carlos Pena got up in the 14th I knew he was going to hit a hr to win the game. Timlin wasn't pitching well and he was keeping his pitches up. What was Francona thinking or was he asleep again? My vote is he was asleep. Now the Rays struggled for a little bit but remember they do have Evan Longoria-Parker & Crazy Carl Crawford coming back. This will be the boost they need to help them get to the World Series. Just you wait and see. Also, Malone is wrong about not needing a closer. Can someone tell me the last time a team won the World Series by going with a closer by committee?

Now lastly for the first time since the Pats won their last super bowl I'm going to be cheering for the Eagles in a game. That's because they're playing the Cowboys and I can't stand Jessica Simpson trying to talk trash about something she doesn't understand. I can't wait for her and Tony RoNo break up.

It's late

Okay, so this post won't be as indepth as I would want it to be, but that's because it's late and I'm tired so whatever, ha ha. I'm ready for bed.

Anywho, in regards to the Brady injury it is definitely karma working. I didn't think it was a cheap shot and I thought it was funny when Belichech compared it to Wilfork's cheapshot against JP Losman of the Bills I think last season. When you look at the replays for both plays, Wilfork lead with his elbow directly into the knee of Losman. He could have gotten out of the way or not lead with his elbow, but the Pats are a cheap & dirty team. Everyone knows it so I'm not sad Brady got injured. Here's my question to you guys, which injury is a bigger blow to their team, Osi going down for the Giants or Brady going down for the Pats. Right now, of course because I'm biased, I'm saying that Osi's injury is a bigger blow just because the Giants had already lost Strahan to retirement and it caused the Giants to move players around and change their entire defensive scheme where with the Pats they can still run the same offense and they still have the Randy Moss. What do you think?

Okay Malone, it's a good thing the Mets didn't trade for Brian Fuentez because Wagner's coming back.... oh wait, he's not. Now Omar, you need to get on the phone and get a closer and fast. I'm sorry, but we need someone to anchor the bullpen and do it fast. Also Wagner's out for next year. Personally I think he should just retire because by the time he comes back he's going to be 39 and won't be anywhere near as good as he was before. Now, when the Mets had originally signed Wagner I was sure we were going to get the same injuries and as often as we got with Pedro. Surprisingly he lasted this long before having any real damage. It's unfortunate because he's been our best closer since John Franco. Now, here's one thing we could do, we could just not trade for a closer and then sign F-Rod in the offseason. He's already said he's going to test the free agent market, so I'm pretty sure we'll have a chance at getting him and we'll have money to spend, so let's do it. We'll see what happens.

Okay, I've been a bit slow this month so far, but it's okay. I'm going to pick it up. Koho, I like the idea of a live blog from Malone's stag party. I think what I might do is bring a notebook with me and write down notes and the times that they happened and then post them on Saturday after the Mets game. We're still going to the game, right? How much do I owe and who do I pay for the tickets? Can I use my winnings from the home run league to pay for it? You all know I'm going to win, so you might as well pay me now, biotches!

This seems like a big sports weekend. We have Mets-Phillies, ND's first game, the Giants first game last night. Can it get any better? We'll see. Now onto the important stuff.

Giants Football preview - Here is the rule about winning the Super Bowl, you're not allowed to complain for the next five years. With the way the Giants won this past SB it should be 10 years. That was the greatest game I've watched so far in my life, better than when the Gmen beat the Bills. Better than when App State beat Michigan. Better than ND over Florida State. Better than watching the SEC stomp all over Ohio State. Even better than the Diamondbacks beating the Yankees. Now that's saying alot, ha ha. So, I really don't know what to expect this season. Last night's game was a snoozefest. You could have stopped watching after the Giants 4th possession because neither team did anything. I really really like the Giants defense and I hate to think what they'd be like with Osi out there. I don't think a team could score on us if Osi was out there. Of course this was a really bad Redskins team out there. They didn't have it together and looked bad all night. We'll know how good this defense is against the Cowboys when we play them. I liked the offense, I just think they're a little rusty. I was frustrated all night because we should have scored at least 35 points against that defense. The first four times we had the ball should have ended with a td but we just couldn't do it. At least we got the win. After last season, it really doesn't matter who wins the division, it just matters if you make it or not. I think the giants have a great chance of making the playoffs again but I also wouldn't be surprised if we went 7-9, so we'll see what happens. I like what Eli's done, but I think he needs to settle down a little bit. Also, where was Bradshaw last night? I watched the first half at a bar so I don't know if he was hurt or not, but come on. That guy was money last year! One thing that's really nice about the Giants is the fact that we have 1 great rb and 2 really good rb's. That should be our strongest position all season.

Now, onto Notre Dame football. Watch out guys, I'll probably write more about Notre Dame than the Giants. As everyone knows last year was bad. I thought it was going to be bad, but not that bad. And this year a lot of people think we'll be just average, most saying we'll win 6 or 7 games. But I'm here to say, the Irish will win at least 10 games, maybe 11 or 12. Now, the reason for that is the fact that the schedule is sooooooooooooo bad and most of the teams that beat us last year are worse this season. Honestly, we should have had this schedule last season, not this season. The only team that I think should be favored overed the Irish will be USC, the rest of the teams shouldn't be. I'm looking for Jimmy Clausen to have a HUGE season this year. Also watch out for Golden Tate, Duval Kamara & Curt Floyd at wide receiver. I really like our group of guys and think they'll put up big numbers. I also really like Kyle Rudolph at TE. He was the #1 ranked TE recruit in the nation last year and he'll be starting so we'll see what happens. I'm just wondering which running back will come through this year. We've yet to see one show that they will be the #1 back, but I have my money on Robert Hughes. I liked him at the end of the season last year. Now, I can also see the defense coming up big this year. I really really like our linebackers, with sophmores Brian Smith and Kerry Neal leading the way. Smith is a start and I think later in the season Neal will be. Also we have Maurice Crum coming back, which is big. Our secondary is really solid as they were in the top 5 ranked secondaries last year, which I was actually surprised about. I can see big things this year and lets hope the Irish will win a bowl game this year. Malone, are you ready for Irish football again???? I am!!

Okay Rob, I'll try and get longer blogs now. Also, if you do go down to La I hope you're safe. It didn't look like it was too bad, hopefully. Also, did anyone else laugh when they heard that the vpilf's 17 year old daughter is pregnant? You know, 50 years ago people would have been married at that age & having kids.

I've watched this show on the SciFi channel called Jeremiah. It stars Luke Perry, Malcolm Jamaal-Warner & Sean Astin. I've only seen two episodes and I'm not sure if its an ongoing show or if it was a miniseries but it's based on a comic book where a strange virus took out all of the adults and left only the kids. Now the kids have grown up and are trying to put the world back together but there's a lot of fighting going on. It's pretty interesting.

Now, here's my very biased picks for the mlb playoffs.

Rays over Twins (5 games) - I think this will be the best series of the playoffs. I really like both teams because they both have a great collection of young players & veterans. I just think the Rays have just a little bit more than the Twins and will prevail in game 5 with a walk off 2 runs homer by either Carlos Pena or Evan Longoria. But, this might change because I like what the Twins are doing now and have a huge Tiki Barber theory going on here.

Angels over Red Sox (3 games) - This series won't be close, sorry Rob. The Angels just have too much starting pitching for the Red Sox to handle. And the Red Sox are very low on good starting pitching. With Beckett hurt and not really himself this year & Shilling out for the season I just don't think the Red Sox have it this year. I also think a HUGE factor is the fact that Manny isn't around. I like Jason Bay, but the problem is is that he's played in Pittsburgh his whole career and hasn't had to deal with the pressure of the playoffs. Don't get me wrong, I don't think he'll do bad, I'm just not sure if he'll do good. There's no telling what will happen, but the one thing we do know is that Manny is Manny, especially in the playoffs. That's just one loss the Red Sox won't be able to overcome. Also, I could see the White Sox playing the Angels instead.

Cubs over Diamondbacks (3 games) - Once again a squash series. The Cubs are loaded from top to bottom. Hitting & Pitching. Starting pitching, bullpen, hitters off the bench. I think the most key person on this team that could help the Cubs get far will be Jeff Samardzija(hey, I said it wasn't going to be unbiased). The one thing I remember about the Mets playoff run in 2006 was Darren Oliver coming out of the bullpen and pitching amazingly. I can see #83 doing the same thing for the Cubs. He's pitched really really well since he's been called up and he's the perfect weapon for them. Especially when Rich Harden goes down with an injury, you have someone who can step into his spot and pitch as well.

Mets over Brewers (4 games) - Remember, very biased picks. Yes, the Brewers went out and got CC. And CC's been amazing for them. They also have Ben Sheetz. But here's the problem, Sheetz is hurt. We also don't know how the rest of their starting staff will react in the playoffs. Also, I can remember CC in the playoffs last year. He was great last year during the regular season but he struggled big time in the playoffs. And the problem is, the Brewers can only pitch him twice in the series. They will have to depend on their other pitchers and it won't be enough. Plus, this team is young. Really young to almost a fault. I think this will do them in.

Rays over Angels (6 games) - This will be a great series. I like the Rays in this series because I think they've proved themselves this season. There's just something about this team and I like it. It'll be a close series, I don't think any game will be decided by more than 2 or 3 runs.

Mets over the Cubs (6 games) - I think this time the Mets pull it off. They have the scars from the last two seasons on them and they can remember how they feel. I think this year we can pull it together and do some good. Plus, I think the one bad thing for the Cubs is, well, they're the Cubs. You just know that something, some mistake, some fluke, something terrible is going to happen to them and the Mets will prevail and go on. Plus, even though the bullpen isn't great, or even good, the starting pitching is, and they can move some of the starters to the bullpen. We could easily go with a rotation of Santana, Pedro, Pelfrey and put Maine in the bullpen. It could be interesting.

Mets over the Rays (7 games) - Another great World Series. This one will go back and forth, but I think the one thing the Mets have in their favor is the fact that they've been to the playoffs before, they know what they're playing for, they know the pressure and how to deal with it. Plus, I really like the players they've brought up. So there, you go. I think the Mets can win it all and what I think is completely biased and probably wrong, but i like what the Mets have and what they can do.

Ahhhhhh, yes. It's sunday and I'm home from work. The first two days of tech weren't too bad. I must say that the day goes by pretty quickly. Yesterday it flew by and today was pretty good. I do have to work tomorrow, but that's okay it's just a half day and I get time and a half for it. But, I'm still going to look for a new job because I would like to have my weekends off.

Mike, thanks for agreeing with me. Like I said, A-rod is the new Dan Marino. The player with the best stats to never win when it matters the most, he he. Malone, we need bullpen help. There's nothing else to say. Our pitching is the exact opposite of the 2006 team. Well, let's say good bye to August and hello to September.

But my last post was my 100th post. Pretty cool. Once again, I have to make this short cause my lunch break was cut in half(at least I go home earlier!) Anywho, Rob brought up an interesting post idea. My thoughts on the election. Honestly, I really don't care who gets elected. As long as George Bush is not president, I'm happy. Both candidates are pretty good candidates but neither of them really pull me in either direction. Plus, what people tend to forget, it doesn't really matter who the president is, he doesn't have the last say in what laws are passed or what's going to go on, he needs the aid of congress. Also, what people forget is the fact that even if a congressperson is a democrat or republican doesn't mean that they'll always vote that way when laws come up because people are always making deals with the other side. Also, I personally got burned out on politics in college and I don't really care. I know, I'm a bad person but I'm spent arguing politics. This will probably be the last time I write about politics until the next election, which I will say the same thing. Now, if Obama was to end one of his speaches by yelling, "CAN YOU DIG IT!" I think I would vote for him solely on that. It's not a good reason, but at least it's a reason, ha ha.

Hump Day

So, I guess it is Wednesday. I've kinda just lost track of what day it is since my schedule is changing and I'm going through training before I get my new schedule, uggghhh. My interview yesterday was nothing special. Went to a temp agency to see if they had any temp-to-hire positions. They did but didn't pay that much so I'll move on and wait and see if they get anything better. I'm going to go to an open interview today for a call center that deals with lawyers. Not sure what exactly they do, but it seems kinda interesting. I'll keep you posted. i'm going to keep this short because my lunch is cut in half now and i have to go back in 5 minutes. Ha ha.

Two things about the Mets. First thing is not to worry about last night. It sucked but it's not the end of the world. If this was late September and we were playing a four game series in Philly and we didn't have Johan then I'd be crapping myself right now. But it's not and I'm not. It's only a 2 game series and when we win today we'll be back in first. The second thing is I'm wondering if the Mets will make an offer for Brian Fuentes. The Rockies have put him on waivers. The Mets would have to do a trade and I've read that the asking price is high. Also, Fuentes is a free agent at the end of the season. Now, I think it would be a good idea to go after him, I just don't know if we could get him. We need bullpen help, like everyone knows and he would be a great opion. Also, Wagner is getting old. Fuentes is not as old. We could replace Billy with Brian and then we won't have to worry the next time Wagner breaks down. We have our replacement already. Plus, in the offseason we can offer more money. But, I doubt it'll happen. We also need another starter now that Maine is on the DL. I wonder if El Duke is going to come back? Now would be a great time to get him back.

The Olympics

Okay Rob, here you go. I actually enjoyed the olympics this year, which is surprising because I don't usually care to much about them. I watched swimming, diving, volleyball(both outdoor and indoor) soccer, and basketball. I was disappointed in our men's soccer & baseball teams. I can't believe we didn't even get past the opening round for soccer. I thought we had a pretty decent young team(considering we won the bronze medal in the U-20 world cup) but we sucked. Oh well. Did we win the bronze medal in baseball? I can't remember. But we didn't win the gold and that sucks. I got to watch a bunch of the men's basketball games because at work we had the tv's on the basketball channel that just played the b-ball games. I was glad we won the gold medal but I think the Dream Team would rip the Redeam team. I really liked watching the men's and women's outdoor volleyball teams, the ones that won the gold medals. The matches were usually really entertaining, plus the chick with the dark hair is cute. But, she's married to a Marlin, so that's bad, ha ha. What I liked about the diving is when NBC would show the camera angle where the camera follows the diver into the pool. That was pretty sweet. And of course, just like almost everyone else I liked watching Michael Phelps. Even if he is from Michigan. Overall, I thought the Olympics went really well and was pretty fun to watch. I'm waiting for skateboarding to be an olympic sport so brazil can win a couple more gold medals. One thing that was crazy was the fact that China won 51 gold medals! Also, nothing will be better than Tiki Barber getting slammed for being a horrible announcer and calling his partner a not so nice word during a live broadcast. I think his career as an anchor will be over really soon.

Also, I'm really psyched for college football to start up. I'll have my college football preview coming up in a little bit. It'll be fun, ha ha.

My last day of freedom

Well, tomorrow I start my training to become a dishnetwork tech support agent. I'm not looking forward to it at all. Ha ha. I still haven't heard back from toys r us, I'm thinking I'm not getting offered the job. Oh well, no biggie. I do have an interview setup for Tuesday with a temp agency. We'll see what happens with this one. I'll still keep a look out for other jobs and hope something nice comes up. It's going to take some adjusting getting used to getting up so early to get to work. It'll be nice to get home early, but still. I liked the getting up later part. Oh well, can't have your cake and eat it too.

Hey Perrotti, I sent you a trade, I think it was our original trade, but I'm not sure. I guess I need another pitcher now that marcum went down to AAA. It says he should be back soon, so hopefully it won't be too long. Also Perrotti, doesn't Connecticut have 3 of the top 10 most violent cities in America? Yeah, that's what I thought.

So, sorry for the lack of posts this week. I'm actually in the middle of a five day vacation. I start my training for tech support on Monday at 7am. Bright and early. Ugghhh. I really have no idea how I'm going to make it. Hopefully something will happen soon where I won't have to go! That would be great. Onto a couple other things, the bank by my gf's place was robbed today. I was eating lunch there and I heard this helicopter going around and I was thinking it was a student flying(the osu training airport is near) and then I left to a little while later and there were two tv stations there and a cop car and the entrance was blocked off. I've never been near a bank that's been robbed. So, in the past year I've had someone shot at a fast food place two blocks from where I live and now a bank got robbed 20 feet from where my gf lives. That's why I live here, ha ha.

Still haven't gotten any offers yet for a new job so the search continues. I'm suppose to hear soon from tru so hopefully that'll be good news. My dad suggested looking at a recruiter so I'm going to call a couple tomorrow and see what happens. Thanks for the job advise. Kinda funny coming from a guy who said he majored in gay sex. Ha ha.

I finally saw American Gangster, the uncut version. I was really surprised how good it was. I really enjoyed it. It's not as good as Scarface but still a very good movie. Plus, it's based on a true story. I'm going to watch Street Kings next and see if that's any good. You've got to love Red Box. I'm completely addicted to it.

Perrotti, I remember you saying that. I'm just surprised how good everything has turned out. I've had 3 guys go on the dl, one guy start the season with a 50 game suspension so you can't say I've been totally clean. I'd be even farther up if Cameron didn't do 'roids. Oh well. Plus, no one thought Rollins would be this bad this year.

Sunday Bloody Sunday

Ohhhhh, my first u2 influenced post title. Anywho, it's sunday. I'm at work. I'm thinking to myself that with my new schedule I'd be getting ready to leave. Kinda weird. I'm looking forward to work being done because I'm going to go out after work and meet up with some friends to watch the summer slam. I don't ever watch wrestling during the regular shows but I'm always up to watching any of the ppv's. They're usually pretty bad because wrestling has become bad in the past 10 years, but whatever. Anywho, Malone, I think it's safe for you to send me the money for the home run league. No one is going to catch me. It's over. I think the closest person is like 21-22 home runs behind me. You can just send the money. No one will mind. Everyone knows it's over. I've actually been meaning to write that in a post a while ago but I keep on forgetting, ha ha. I am awesome.

A Whole Bunch of Stuff

So, it's Friday, which is my Sunday. Tomorrow I start my last week of the type of job I have at Dishnetwork. I'll then have a 5 day weekend and next Monday the 25th(Where has the summer gone?) I start my training for Tech Support. I'm really really not looking forward to this, but oh well. I need a new job before I can leave this one. I was told that by mid-day today I'd find out my new shift. I called and was told we won't know until Close of business today, which is between 5-6pm. Way to go work. Once again another delay. That's all they do, tell you something will be ready by a certain day/time and always delay it. It makes me wonder how this company can survive? How we haven't gone under yet? Who knows. What? Me bitter? Maybe just a little, ha ha. Anyways, onto other things.

In the past couple days I've watched three movies so here are my reviews of them.
Into The Wild: I didn't really want to see this in the theater so I decided to wait til it was out on dvd. Of course it came out a while ago, but whatever. I read a review in entertainment weekly which the first line of the review said what happens in the end, so that was great. But, other than that this was a great movie. It's amazing what some people will do to escape and change what's around them. The journey this guy went on was incredible and it was really easy to get into the movie. I would recommend this to anyone who's looking for a good movie to watch. I give this one an A-. Also ,the soundtrack is awesome.

In The Name Of The King - A Dungeon Siege Tale: I'll watch any movie that has Jason Statham in it, and this movie has him in it, ha ha. It does have a really good cast that includes the chick who played the terminator in terminator III, Ron Pearlman(Hellboy), Ray Liota, Burt Reynolds, Leelee Sobieski and Claire Forlani(Green Street Hooligans). It's sort of a Lord of the Rings meets the Matrix with the storyline and the fighting scenes. It was enjoyable and I would recommend this for anyone who's looking for an action movie where they don't really need to pay attention too much. I give it a B.

Star Wars - The Clone Wars: Ahhh yes, this is the movie I went to last night at midnight and believe me, it was worth it. Now, let me not get ahead of myself, it's definitely not as good as the original three, and honestly we all know nothing will ever be, but it's definitely better than episode I & II. It's close with episode III. What I like about this one was it had more action than the other movies. In fact, you start off the movie in the middle of a bunch of battles. It was pretty sweet. The story revolves around Jabba the Hutt's son was kidnapped and the Jedi are asked to track them down. If they do then Jabba will open up the trade roots to the Jedi and the Republic in the outer rim. Also, Anakin is given a padawan learner(if you're unsure what this is, just asked Ayo. Ha ha, I'm funny). At this point you're told that Anakin said he'd never want one but Obi-Wan convinces Yoda that one would be perfect for him. So, they go on a mission to find Jabba's son. What I like about this movie compared to episodes 1-3, and it's something you also got in the animated series that came out in 2002-2003 was it was actually pretty funny. I was surprised how often I laughed during the movie. So, anyways at the end of the movie you're setup for the tv show that's going to be on I think later this year. I have really high hopes for it and I think it'll come through. Rob, definitely see it. I think you'll like it.

Thursday

Well, it's Thursday. I have one more day of my weekend, tomorrow. Tonight I'm going to see the Star Wars movie at midnight. It's going to be awesome. I always liked the cartoon clone wars better than any of the new 3 movies so this one should be awesome. I can't wait for it! It's nice that the Mets are doing better. I don't want to say too much for fear that I jinx them. I think it's tooo late at this point, ha ha. Anyone think Cashman's regretting not trading for Johan now?? I think he is. I think it's great that Hank forced Jaba the Hutt into the rotation and ruined his shoulder. The rest of the league would like to think Hank for being an idiot once again. Keep it coming. Besides that, I think it's time to put a stake into the Yankees. They're d-u-n, done. If Jeter goes on the dl for any significant amount of time then they're really gone. I think it's time to play for next year and try and get a better draft pick by losing games. Just a thought. Lastly, I interviewed for Toys 'R' Us today. It was for a management position at a new store they're opening over here. It went okay and I should know in about a week if I get it. That won't stop me from looking at other places, though. I worked at TRU before and I liked it. Of course I was in high school and college when I did that and worked with some friends so we'll see what happens. Hopefully I can get a job before I go to tech, which is 8/30. I find out on Friday what my new shift is. If I get a bad one I'm really contemplating quiting. I'll have an update tomorrow on what's going on.

Also, I came up with a funny name for Rob's blog so we could be "sister" blogs but I forgot it. Dang it! It had least in the title but I can't remember for the life of me. Hopefully I'll be able to remember, ha ha. I saw Pineapple Express on Friday so maybe that's why I can't remember anything. J/k. Pineapple Express is now my favorite comedy movie of the year. Forgetting Sarah Marshall gets moved down to the #2 spot. Everyone needs to go see it because you will laugh throughout the whole movie. I think the funniest part for me is where Seth Rogen and the other guy are loading up on guns and the one guy pumps a shotgun and says, "Thug Life." It makes me laugh whenever I think about it. That's how you know a movie is good. ha ha. I'm actually looking forward to see that Ben Stiller movie, Tropic Thunder. It looks pretty funny. Plus, on Thursday night I'm going to see a midnight showing of the Star Wars movie. I won't dress up but I'm definitely going to wear my star wars t-shirt. Oh yeah.

So, just a quick post today. I've got a job interview today. I hope it goes okay. I've been feeling a little dizzy. It started last night, actually I was really really dizzy last night and now I'm still feeling it now. It seems to be getting better, though so hopefully by the time I get to the job interview it'll be gone. Hopefully. Tonight I'm going to see Pineapple Express. I've been looking forward to it for a while. It looks really really funny. Plus, I like the song that plays during the trailer. He he. Well, the Mets had an exciting win yesterday. David Wright's first game winning home run ever. I always like watching walk off home runs because it's always funny to see the other guys crowd around home plate. It makes me laugh. Too bad we blew the game for Santana. That's the 6th win we've blown for him. That's just horrible. He should have 15 wins now and be in the running for the Cy Young. Now, what I don't get is we brought up this guy Kunz from the minors. He's was a closer in the minors and they don't have him as it in the Majors? He's the only one on the team besides Wagner who has the mentality to close. Please, someone make him the closer.

Sooooo, it's late on Wednesday night. The Mets just lost. Just great. I kinda like that Dan Murphy guy who just got called up. Going 3-5 will do that, ha. Now, it's just seeing if he can keep things up. Who knows. I went to a job fair today. Nothing really good but I did stop by this one company and the lady who was there looked over my resume and gave me some pointers and gave me a website to look at hr positions. I think I'd really like doing HR so maybe something will happen. I have been doing HR type stuff for like 4.5 years now. It could be fun and it's not customer service. I do have an interview tomorrow with another company. They're hiring a bunch of positions so I'll see what happens. Hopefully the job won't suck and there'll be decent benefits. I'll keep you posted.

Top 5 fast food places:
#1. Steak & Shake: I don't believe there are any of these in Connecticut. In fact, I had their food for the first time in March. Also I've only gotten one thing off of the menu but it is by far the best burger/sandwich ever. It's called the frisco melt and I've gotten it everytime I've gone there. Plus they have really good milkshakes. They do have a split milkshake where one side is one flavor and the other side is another flavor. It's pretty good.

#2. Wendy's: I have to give props to the fast food restaurant that was started in C-bus. I like the menu and the baconator, even though it will kill me in about 5 years. But, what's really nice about Wendy's is that when you get one of the value menu items you can get something else besides fries with it. I usually get a potato with brocolli. It's pretty good. Plus, it reminds me of playing poker at Perrotti's place because I used to get it before beating everyone in poker.

#3. Rally Burger: Once again I don't think this place is in Connecticut. Rally isn't like the other fast food places, it's just a drive thru place, which is nice. I think they make the best burgers out of all the places. On a down note, my gf did have to take care of a girl who worked at a Rally's by my old apartment.

#4. Burger King: I think the only reason it's this high on the list is because of the BK Stacker. That's by far my favorite thing on the menu. Plus, the commercials are wicked funny. I loved the football ones with the Burger King. They still make me laugh.

#5. McDonald's: Ummm... I guess McD's is here because I don't really care that much for Taco Bell or Long John Silver and I can't think of any other ones. Ha ha. Sad but true. Plus, I really like the McNuggets. By far the best chicken nuggets out there. And I like their fries. So there.

The Dark Knight

Soooo, it's time. I've given everyone enough time to see the movie, so now I'm going to talk about it, spoilers and all. Ha ha. First thing's first. Way for the Mets to start faiding. Just great. Now with Maine on the DL and who knows when Wagner's going to be back. We brought some guy up who has 27 saves in the minors or something like that. Should be interesting. Can someone please make Ryan Church better? Please???

Now, onto the Dark Knight. I loved the movie. I thought it was great. Like I said before, this movie was going to be huge and it looks like it has a good chance of beating out Titanic as the movie that's made the most money. It'll be close, but I think it'll do it. Now the one thing I didn't like about the movie was that Two Face died. I always hate when comic book movies kill of the bad guy. Really, can't you just throw him in jail? Is that too much to ask? They do it in the comics, you can do it in the movies. Blah. I'm not upset about that Rachel Dawes(I think that's her name, oh well) kicking the bucket. I was surprised but it's okay. But I hate two face kicking it because he was never really a bad guy. No one knew him as a bad guy. That would have been sweet if he had been.

This is what we know now, Sandman & Joker are in jail so they can return in the next movie. There will probably be another villian in the next movie. We're going to have to find another person to play the Joker. I believe Christian Bale is signed for the next movie and the director is not, so they better sign him up.

Now, that just leaves us at what storyline they're going to go with. I'm thinking that they'll follow the Robin storyline and add him into the mix. But, they might save that til later because Batman hasn't been around for that long. I like the Robin storyline so it would be pretty cool if he's in the next movie and they get someone good to play him. I also wouldn't mind to see either Catwoman or the Penguin to be in the next one and bring back either Sandman or Joker. It'll be hard, but they could do it. What I would love to happen in the next movie is to have the character who's Robin leave at the end of the movie and then have Batman find someone else to take his place and then in the fourth movie go with Death in the Family storyline and kill Robin. I'm just saying that it would be really really sweet and something they wouldn't have done with the other movies. Sooo, we'll see what happens. I just can't wait for them to announce when they'll start filming the new movie, to see who's going to acting in it and to see what characters will be in it. Let's hope it's as good as the first two!

The Playoffs

Rob, I really hope you don't have to go. Sorry, but I don't really want any of my friends to go over there because I don't want any of them to be killed. I understand the duty that you have, but still, I'm selfish. So yes, if you go and start a blog over there, let me know and I'm up for doing the sister blogs or whatever you want to call it. I'm not sure what a cool name would be. I like my least of the east name. We'll have to think of something.

The yankees made some good moves, but you killed your bullpen for it. I don't know why you traded Farnsworth for pudge? That trade made no sense to me. I do like Bay in Boston, though. They have the whitest outfield ever with Bay, Drew & Ellsbury. I think the second most signifant trade at the deadline besides Manny was Teixeria going to the Angels. There lineup just got a lot better. It'll be interesting to see if the Angels can get over the hump again. They always seem to get taken out by some team from the East. But, I do think the Angels are the front runner to represent the AL in the World Series, but I wouldn't rule out the White Sox or the Rays. Even though knowing me they'll both fold like Koho in poker. We shall see.

But, I don't think the Angels are going to run away with it. In fact there are some pretty good teams in the NL that I think have a really good chance of winning it all. So, here's my list of the teams I think can win it all in the NL:

#1. Chicago Cubs - Yes, yes, yes, they're jinxed but whatever. That team is put together. They could easily in a seven game series have Carlos Zambrano, Ryan Dempster & Rich Harden pitch twice. You don't think they can win it with that staff? Plus their bullpen is nasty. They have Carlos Marmel and will soon have Kerry Wood back, two flame throwers. Plus, they just called up Jeff Samardzija, one of my favorite football players of all time. And yes, he can throw 99. Just sick. The shark is hungry and the hitters are his food. Oh yeah, and their lineup is pretty sick with Alfsonso Soriano, Derek Lee, Aramis Ramirez, Fukudome, Soto, Theroit, and DeRosa. You either have guys who hit for power, guys who hit for average, or guys who can run. That's just a nasty lineup.

#2. Milwaukee Brewers - The Brew Crew are loaded with studs all around. There aren't really too many teams with a better 1-2 starting pitching like the Brewers with CC Sabathia & Ben Sheets. After that they also have Manny Parra, who's 9-4 on the year. Plus they can finish off the rotation with Jeff Suppan(remember him from his playoff run in 2004?) and Dave Bush, who had been pitching a lot better until last night. Plus, look at that lineup. Braun, Cameron, and Hart in the OF. Prince Fielder, Rickie Weeks, JJ Hardy(who's been really strong the last month), and Bill Hall/Russell Branyan at 3rd. Just nasty. Yes, they just got swept by the Cubs at home, but so what. Every team struggles at some point. I think this team is built for September/October.

#3. Florida Marlins - You know what, I don't know what it is about this team. They just seem to just want to win. I can't really put my finger on it. They just have guys that seem to get hits in crucial times and can also pound the crap out of the ball. I'm not sure if they're still leading the league, but they're probably close to the tops in HR's(the Phillies might have passed them). They have a lineup that can crush the ball and they have decent pitching. Plus, they're young, which I think will help them on their part because they don't care what people think, they just want to win. Plus, they have the best all around player in Hanley Ramirez. Take a look at his stats(25hrs, 49 rbi's, 25 sb, .297 ba, .379 obp, .538 slug, 23 doubles, 86 runs) this guys does it all as a leadoff hitter. He should really be batting 3rd, but I don't think the Marlins have anyone who could do that. Plus, he's probably the best SS defensivly in the majors. (On a side note, I think one of the funniest things is when Jorge Cantu hits a homerun and someone says, "Jore Can not, Cantu!" I'm not sure why I find this funny, but I do.)

#4. New York Mets - There's one thing about a streaky team is that when they're on, they're on. I can see the same spark that this team had in 2006 and I'm hoping they can keep it up and make it too the playoffs. If they can, I think the Mets can be a very surprising team. They definitely have the starting pitching to get them to the World Series. With Johan Santana being Johan and Mike Pelfrey emerging finally, you have to like their chances. Plus, I'll never, ever forget what Oliver Perez and John Maine can do. I still remember Maine's last start last year, in a clutch situation with the season on the line and he pitches a shutout with 13 k's. Plus, he pitched well enough in 2006 playoffs for me to have faith in him with a couple more seasons under his belt. Plus Oliver Perez seems to have turned into a big game pitcher for some reason. He's like one of those pitchers that either pitches up to the quality of his opponent or down to the quality of his opponent. Oh yeah, and our fifth pitcher is Pedro Martinez. Not too shabby. Plus, the offense is pretty set. With Jose Reyes setting the tone for this team and then having David Wright be David Wright and getting Carlos Delgado to come out of his year and a half funk this team is pretty solid. We just need Beltran to be consistent and with Fernando Tatis taking 'roids again and hitting the poo out of the ball we've got a nice offense. Plus we'll have Church coming back for the stretch run. We also seem to get clutch hits from our bench. The one concern is the bullpen. Billy Wagner has been pretty good except for that little bump for a week. I like Duaner and Feliciano and Schoeneweis has pitched a lot better this year, but I don't trust Heilman and I'm still not completely sold on Joe Smith, so we'll see what happens. I think the worst decision Omar made was not to re-sign Sad Bradford and Darren Oliver. Both were key in 2006. The one wild card that the Mets have is El Duke, if he can come off the DL this year. He is probably the best big game pitcher the Mets have, even if he hasn't pitched in a big game in like 5 years. He could be the one Dark Horse that the Mets have.

#5. Philadelphia Phillies - We all know this about the Phillies, they can hit. And they can hit home runs. And they're passionate about everything. But there are two things that hurt them, big time. The first is Jimmy Rollins. I think Phillies fans have put out a missing person's notice for him. He's not the same guy he was last year. It's safe to say we'll have a new player of the year this year. Also, their starting pitching is horrible. Except for Cole Hamels the Phillies don't have good starting pitching. In fact, if you look at their website, they only have 4 starters! And #2 is Joe Blanton, who is D-U-N, DONE. This team is all hitting, but as they say, good pitching will beat good hitting. It's safe to say we'll have a great stretch run and I can't wait to see what happens.

Oh Boy, a few things!!

Soooo, the trade deadline came and went. The Mets did nothing. That's just great. I don't know what we were thinking, but oh well. And, the biggest news is that Manny was traded and believe me, I'm glad he went to the Dodgers and not to the Marlins. It's bad enough we lost two of three to them, but if they got Manny also? That would be horrible. So, we're now 1/2 game out of first and maybe a full game if the Phillies win tonight. Not too bad. I wish we were in first, but whatever. We need to kick the crap out of the Astros now.

So, I've been applying to a bunch of places now and haven't heard back yet, but that's common. We'll see what happens. I hate the waiting process when trying to get a new job. It completely blows. And yes, I did just apply to the A&F position and to another one. They both seem like really really sweet positions. And also, I found a writing position. The ad didn't give much details but they want a writing sample so tomorrow I'm going to spend a bunch of the day writing to get them some samples and see what happens. Probably nothing but whatever. It'll be fun just to have the opportunity and it would be amazing if it actually turned into something.

The past week I've seen a bunch of movies, both at the theater and rented, so I thought I'd give my reviews of them. This will not include the Dark Knight. That I'm going to save for next week. Just so I can give you guys some time to watch it.

The X-Files: I want to believe - Well this movie is what it was suppose to be, just a longer version of the show. It had nothing to do with aliens or continued the story. It basically just showed you where Mulder and Scully were at now(Mulder hiding from the public and Scully a doctor). It was pretty good but the ending was very anti-climatic, which kinda sucked. It just seemed to end and it wasn't very shocking or surprising. But, I liked it, no surprise.

Forgetting Sarah Marshall - This is by far the funniest movie of the year. I was laughing throughout the whole movie. Also, the music for the play inside the movie was great. This is why Jason Segal is one of my favorite actors. It got me ready for Pineapple Express, which will probably be just as funny.

Lost Boys: The Tribe - Ahhhh, the lost boys. I feel really bad for not having this in my list of 80's movies. What was I doing? I might have to do that list over again somewhere down the line. Well, I'm not sure if you guys watch this show or not but I like to watch the two cory's. It's about Feldman & Haim and their relationship now. I'm not sure if it's real or not because I've heard that it's suppose to be planned but whatever. I enjoy it. The second movie just had Feldman in it for the theatrical version of the movie, which stars the guy who played Stifler's brother in the American Pie: Band Camp movie. He and his sister move to California and get mixed up with vampires, yeah yeah yeah. The movie was interesting, the death scenes were more graphic than the first movie. The ending was okay. Probably the best part was the alternate endings. There are two. The first one has Haim and Feldman walking on the beach with Haim telling Feldman that his brother(who was turned into a Vampire) is coming back for them. The second ending is the same only Haim shows Feldman that he was bit on his shoulder by the brother. So, I guess there will be a third movie.

Well Malone, I wouldn't be working at an actual store, I think I'd be working at the corporate office, which is in Columbus(on a side note, another reason to come to columbus is that I've heard that there are a lot of models that live here because the Limited Company is based here. I haven't seen them, but I've heard about them, ha ha). But, if I don't fit the mold, I do think the job would be fun. Of course their website sux and I haven't been able to send my resume, oh well.

Rob, I actually do not have any of Allen's contact info. Thankfully. I thought he went missing and noone knew where he was. Does anyone have an update on that story about his missing? Frenette and I would always joke that he was in some scheme with some broker out in Chicago to take over the ticketing world. ha ha. One day I'll post my favorite Allen stories. They're all great, but these will be my favorite. I asked Frenette to write a song called the ballad of Allen Beaverstock. It'd be an instant classic. Also, in one of my books that I'd like to write, I want a character that's just like him. I just need to come up with a funny name for the character.

Ha ha, I miss the days when I actually liked watching wrestling. Yeah, about 10 years ago. My has it gotten really really bad. Anywho, I liked what Malone wrote about Shockey and so I'm going to post what I think about it. I must say that I'm sad to see Shockey go. He was one of my favorite Giants to watch play, when he was playing. I liked the fact that he was cocky and didn't mind showing it off. That didn't bother me whatsoever. I'll miss him in big games because he could always be counted on to make a big play. But, what I won't miss is him always getting injured. Always. I'm not sure if he's ever made it through a season without getting injured. I don't blame him for it. He plays a pretty demanding position and its easy to get banged up. Now, if we didn't have a good tight end to replace him with, I'd be worried, but fortunately we have Kevin Boss. He's no Moss, but he'll do. Ha ha, that was really bad. I'm just glad that Boss was able to develop a ton over the season. Plus, he's a lot bigger than Shockey is. He's not as fast, but he's a better blocker and he can still catch the ball and run with it(see the Super Bowl for the highlights). I think he'll do all right now that he's the feature TE. Plus, it's nice to get two picks for him. I wish we had done this trade before the draft and then taken Trevor Laws with the second round pick, but that's me. Hopefully we'll get a good return on the investment. I think we will.

The job hunt is going okay. I actually found a pretty interesting job for Abercrombie & Fitch. They want me to be a model. Just kidding. If anything happens with it, I'll let you know about it but I think I'd have a lot of fun doing it. So, we'll see what happens.

A Few Things

Well, I guess I should start this off by apologizing for not writing that much recently. I've been in a little funk, and it has nothing to do with the fact that I got College Football. I've been feeling a little blue because things at work have not been going well. I'm actually in the process of looking for another job because I hate it soooo much there. It has nothing to do with the people I work with, I actually really like them and I'll miss them when I'm gone, it has everything to do with the company. Plus, I think I'm burning out on customer service, which I've done since I graduated college. I just find myself caring less and less every day, which in customer service is not a good thing. Also there has been a problem with management. Here's the thing, when I took this job I was told that every once in a while they have a shift bid. That's when another shift becomes available and they give the shift bid to those who have better stats. I was really excited about that because I was new and I got stuck with a pretty crappy shift. So a few weeks ago at work they gave us a mandatory shift bid and instead of basing it of off our stats, they based it off of seniority and this really pissed me off. Well, I ended up getting a pretty decent shift, one that I was actually looking forward to going to and it was suppose to start on Saturday. Well, well well, this past Saturday I got to work and I found out that they were postponing the shift bid with no reason why, which is great. One of the few things that I will take from working under Matt(at ticketnetwork) is that people don't remember 95% of the things that you come through with, they remember the 5% of the things you promise and don't give them. And this really pissed me off, what they did. Then on Tuesday, just before I was about to leave I found out that we're being put into tech. I'm not looking forward to this at all. Soooo, I've decided to look for a new job. I've sent my resume out to a few places and I hope I can get one of them, but I really hate looking for a job. I really do. The process is such a pain in the butt and is completely annoying. Whenever I see a job I always think one of two things. Either I'm going to hate the job or I'm not qualified for one. Its a horrible opinion to have but I can't help it. So, we'll see what happens as the weeks go by, since it took me like 5 months to find this job. Ugghhhhhhhhh. Oh well.

It was nice to see the Mets pull out two of three against the Phillies and to take first place by ourselves. Now we have the cards in for another big series. All I want for the Mets to do for now on is to win 2 games a series. That would put us in a good position to win the division.

Yesterday I saw Forgetting Sarah Marshall. This is by far the funniest movie I've seen this summer. And, I saw it at the cheap theater(I paid $1.25 to see it) which means that it'll be coming out on video soon. If you haven't seen the movie yet go rent it when its out on video. You might want to cover your eyes for the beginning of the movie, but it's really funny and you'll laugh throughout it. Well, hopefully I'll be able to get a couple more posts up before the end of the month.

On a side note, I do feel better a little bit. See, writing can help!

Oh yeah, it's Monday

I wish there was some list out there where it starts, "You know it's Monday when..." There probably is, but I'm too lazy to look it up. So, someone else do it. Ha ha. Well, earlier this month, or maybe last month I posted the top 5 jobs I wish I could have now. Well, I decided to expand that list. So, here are the next five jobs I wish I had. You know you'll love it:

#6. Win the lotto - Yeah, it's not a job, but whatever. What would be better than to win the lotto and never have to work again? I'm not talking about winning like a mil, I'm talking about winning like $250 million. After taxes, you're probably looking at like $125 mil. Give or take a little. I always hear people say that if they won the lotto they'd still want to work. Not me, I'm that lazy. My favorite weekend days are the days that I go to bed late, wake up late and then I can either sit around and watch tv/play playstation or go out shopping for more movies/games to watch/play. When it's my weekend, I really don't want to do anything constructive. I'd rather just pay someone and I'd be able to do that by winning the lotto.

#7. Artist - I guess this kinda goes along with writing or maybe not. Maybe that's just in my head. But, I've always thought it was amazing whenever I meet someone who can really draw. I am not one of those people. Now, I wouldn't want to be an artist who draws paintings and sells them. Oh no, I'd want to either draw/color for a comic book or for anime tv shows/movies. That would just be sweet. Or, I could be the person who comes up with the storylines for these things. Why didn't I get these genes???

#8. Voice Actor - How great would it be if all you did for work was be the voice for some cartoon show or movie. It just seems like it would be pretty cool. I wonder how does someone get into this business? Also, how do I get into this career? I think it'd be pretty cool. Plus, then someone would make a wikipedia page for you. Sweet!!

#9. Voice Over for Trailers - I guess technically this is different than the voice actor so it gets its own spot. I'd love to be the guy who does the voices for the movie trailers. It would be sweet to be able to see the movie before it comes out and then to be recognized by people as the guy from the trailer. I think there's like 4 of them out there plus you can do a geico commercial.

#10. Computer Programmer - Ha ha, just kidding Malone!

#10. That Guy Actor - You know who I'm talking about. It's that guy and you can't remember his name but you can recognize him from the movies he's been in. He's never the main character but always plays an important supporting role. And then once you see him in a movie on tv you automatically want to look his name up on imdb only to forget it later on. Well, I'm going to keep this one short. I'll write something longer tomorrow for you all to enjoy. I saw The Dark Knight on Friday. It was awesome. Really, really awesome. You should all go see it. I'm going to save writing about it for a little while, probably like a week or two so that everyone has time to go watch it. There are some very interesting things that they can do from here.

Anywho, I went to the Mets game on Saturday. It sucked. It was extremely frustrating and the team showed why they need Ryan Church back! It won't happen soon, but it would be nice if he was on the team. As much as I like Delgado in the 6th spot, it might be time to put him back in the 5 spot. We'll see what happens. I'm also wondering what moves the Mets might make. I've been hearing about them going after one of the Pirates OF's. I don't think we need Xavier Nady, since we traded him for Oliver Perez and he's really injury prone. We don't need another one of those. I'd love for us to get Jason Bay. That would be a sick outfield once Church gets better. Who wouldn't want a Bay-Beltran-Church OF? Let's hope it happens. Til then, suckers.

Sorry for the New Age Outlaws intro for a title. Probably my favorite tag team of all time. Anywho, I agree with Malone. That was an amazing win last night, and I got to watch it, which is even better. The Mets have won the last two games I've got to watch on tv, the first one was the great game by Pelfrey and then last night's come from behind, twice, to win it. As soon as Wright hit that ball I knew it was out. It's about time he started hitting the opposite way. Well, I'll admit it, the old Delgado seems to be back. Lets hope it stays that way the rest of the year and maybe I'll forget about the whole Mike Jacobs thing(probably not). Anywho, Perrotti and Mike, how do you feel about Richie Sexson joining the Spankees? How long do you think he'll last, 1-2 weeks? I don't think it's a bad pick up. If anyone needed a new place to play it was him. We'll see if he can pick it up again. Sort of how Fernando Tatis has. Where did this guy come from? But I'm happy.

So anywho, today is my second to last no work on Fridays. I start my new schedule(which I think I'll like better) in two Saturdays. But also, it's the opening night for The Dark Knight. I personally think this movie will make the most money this summer. In fact, I'm going to go out on a limb and say this movie will make at least $600 mil world wide. I wouldn't be surprised if it made at least $750 mil. So, in honor of the movie coming out I'm going to give you my rankings of the Batman movies and the two story lines that I'd like to see them go with after this movie.

#1. Batman Begins - Does anyone really remember Christian Bale before this movie? I do, because I grew up with two sisters I didn't really have a fight in picking which movie the family was going to rent, so many times we got stuck watching Newsies, a musical about the 1900's and the kids who sold newspapers. I remember four people from that movie. 1 was Dougie Howsier's best friend, I can't remember his name. 2 was the kid who was one of the bad guys in Robocop 2. 3 is Bill Pulman(or Paxton, I can't remember which one), the President from Independence Day. 4 is Christian Bale. He played the ring leader. Well, as his career went on, he did some movies but nothing really big, well maybe besides American Psycho. Then all of a sudden he was cast as Bruce Wayne in Batman Begins and I knew he'd be great. And he was. This was an amazing Origin storyline(one we didn't really get from the other movies). Great story, great action, great acting. This is a movie I can watch over and over again.

#2. Batman Forever - This is a movie that people either love or hate. I happen to be a part of the group that loves this movie. And no, it's not because of Val Kilmer as Batman(he wasn't that bad. No where near as bad as George Clooney), but because of everything else. Jim Carey completely stole whatever scene he was in. He was the perfect Riddler(if they have the Riddler in any of the other movies I hope he's it or at least someone as funny as him). Also Nicole Kidman was actually still hot at this point. Tommy Lee Jones was good as Two Face. Chris O'Donnell was good. I like how they did the death of his family and he was a good Robin. Plus, the soundtrack was awesome. By far one of my favorite soundtracks of all time, plus it introduced me to Sunny Day Real Estate. Ha ha. For these reasons, it will always be ranked high by me.

#3. Batman - Yeah, yeah, most people would rank this higher, but not me. It's just below Batman Forever. Michael Keaton was the second best Batman(just below Christian Bale) and I kinda wish he had kept playing Batman and I think he would too as I can't think of any movie he's done in the last 5-7 years. Can anyone? I remember he did that movie multilicity or something like that and it really really sucked. I think I turned it off half way through, ha ha. What really made this movie was Jack Nicholson. He played the perfect Joker. What I hate about the first two movies is that they just killed off the bad guys. What fun is that? Don't get me wrong, the death scene for the Joker was great. The way that he had a smile on his face and had that laughing voice at the end was classic, but still. One thing I'm hoping about in the Dark Knight is that, even though Heath is dead, please don't kill off the Joker. Please!!!

#4. Batman Returns - I really don't like this movie. Even with Christopher Walken in it, I don't know, this movie was just a little too dark for me. I just can't watch it whenever its on. I guess after thinking about this movie I can see why Michael Keaton didn't want to be Batman anymore, ha ha. Once again, did you have to kill off the Penguin? Oh well.

#5. Batman & Robin - I think this was the first movie I went to knowing I was going to hate it and I would want my money back, but I owed it to the franchise to give it a chance. I was wrong. I wish I could have that time back. What was the point of Bane? I don't get it. This movie should never had been made.

So, Even though I haven't seen it yet, I think the Dark Knight will be #1 on this list. I know that's saying a lot, but just from the previews I think the movie will be great. Now the question is, what do you do next? Personally I'd like to see these two storylines be made. #1, I'd like to see Robin in the movies. And in fact, I'd like to see all 3 Robins. The first one is, of course Dick Grayson(the one from Batman Forever & Batman & Robin), then I'd like to see him leave to become Nightwing. Then I'd like to see the whole Batman - A Death in the Family storyline where Jason Todd, who is the second Robin killed by the Joker(which, of course will have to be played by someone else) and then Batman have the 3rd Robin, Tim Drake. Yes, this will take like 3 movies, but whatever. It's hollywood, they can do it. Then, the second storyline I'd like to see is Bane come and break Batman's back. And then Azrael come back and be Batman and defeat Bane and then Bruce Wayne come back. Yes, this would be like another two movies, but I have time! I really do. And as an extra bonus for you, I'd also like to see a future movie, like 60 years in the future with Batman's son taking over. I have a comic somewhere(like you're surprised by my nerdness) where it's sometime in the future and Batman's son has just taken over. How sweet would that be?

Because apparently with yesterday's post, I've hit post #80. Also, it seems that I'm on fire now this month, as I've posted in three straight days! That could be a record for me, or not. I'm not sure. But I'll tell you what, I've got a giant case of the Mondays here at work. The end of the day can't come fast enough, ha ha. I swear, sometimes you just want to strangle some customers. And when you get three of them back to back to back, it doesn't help. I just keep telling myself that ncaa football is coming out tomorrow. Ncaa football is coming out tomorrow. You're weekend starts tomorrow night. Just make it til then. That's it!

Anywho, I'm done with my complaining. For now. Until my next post, probably. Ha ha. I'd like to start off by saying Mike Pelfrey, where have you been? Where has this pitcher been the last 2 and a half seasons? Really? He's on a 16 inning scoreless streak. He's had two straight shutouts. Hasn't allowed a walk in those two starts. It's about time. And I hope this Pelfrey stays, ha ha. I just hope he doesn't stay streaky like this year. He lost five in a row and now he's won 6 in a row. I knew he had it in him to be good so it's nice to see him pitch like he should. Also, the bullpen's been great to. 19 1/2 scoreless innings streak. That's pretty good considering how "eh" they've been this season. I like our chances in the second half to either win the NL East or make the Wild Card. We're only a half game back of the Phillies and 1 1/2 behind either the Cardinals or the Brewers. I can't remember. Oh well.

I'd like to put out a missing person notice to the Tampa Bay Rays. If anyone's seen them, please call their General Manager. He's wondering where the lead went in the AL East. Oh yeah, it went to Boston(stupid sox).

Lastly, has anyone seen Hell Boy II? If so, was it any good? The previews and commercials made the movie look good so I'm kinda interested in seeing it. Of course, the first one looked interesting but it sucked. I just thought the first movie was slow and there were a lot of boring parts. I don't know, maybe I need to watch it again and maybe it'll change my mind. I doubt it though.

The blog might be in trouble. Not only do I have my ps3 back, but guess what game is coming out that might make it so I can't put my controller down? That's right, college football. Now, college football will always be one of my top 3 favorite games of all time. Now usually there's some feature in it that makes the game a little better, you know, nothing that's really that great. But of course, I buy it anyways(basically for the updated rosters). But, the folks over at EASports might have outdone themselves. Probably the coolest feature I've seen is the online dynasty mode. You can now recruit players and play the season with up to 11 friends for up to 60 years. Now, that's frackin' insane! It really really is. See, my favorite part of college football(which I've said in the past) is the recruiting. It's sooooooo much fun, I just wish they would make it real and let coaches offer the kids money(I kid, I kid). But now that you get to recruit against other people? That's unreal. Now all I need is to have more friends to get a ps3, because right now it's just rob. ha ha.

I'd also like to thank the Mets for their pitching staff to come out of nowhere and actually be great. What has it been, like 5 or 6 straight games with giving up 3 hits or less? That's pretty cool. Now that we're on ESPN tonight, I'm betting the Mets get shelled. It's just bound to happen. I'm just happy that the worse that we'll be in at the allstar break is 1 1/2 games behind 1st place. Not too bad considering what's happened so far. Wouldn't you think? I'll take it.

Yeah, I guess I should write something about it. Personally I'm sick of Brett Favre. No one has been given such a big of a pass by the media than Brett Favre. Really, there is no one in the history that has gotten as much love and not really deserved it as BF. What do you guys think he should do? I think they should trade him. There's no point in releasing him because you won't get anything for him. By trading him maybe they can get a second rounder out of him. Maybe a third rounder. I think the two teams that would need him the most would be Atlanta & Maimi. Atlanta could use him for a year or two to help build up Matt Ryan, but I'm not sure if they will. I think they might just throw him to the Lions. The Dolphins could use him because they don't have a real QB. They have two young guys, but a year under Brett could help the healing process. Maybe a Favre for Jason Taylor trade? Anyone? Anyone?

The Controller Is Down

Yeah, I agree I've been slacking off big time. I was just thinking to myself that I haven't been doing a good job this month. Oh well, I'll get it done, don't worry. This is a post that I've wanted to write a few times. When growing up and people ask what job you would want when you grow up, you know most boys will say I want to be a cop, a fireman or an athlete. I was just like that when I grew up. It's just that when you get older those dreams about jobs you'd like to have change. So, now that I'm "older" the jobs that I would like to have have changed. Here's my list of the top 5 jobs I would like to have.

#1. Writer - For a while now I've wanted to be a writer. I just think it would be nice to sit home and write for a living. I'd love to write books or maybe write for a newspaper, probably more the book writer than the newspaper one. Part of the reason for starting this blog was to keep myself writing. I like to do it and it just helps me out. Maybe finally I'll be able to sit my butt down and start writing one of the books I've been thinking about. We'll see what happens.

#2. Relief Pitcher - When growing up, I always wanted to be a superstar athelete. Maybe an ace pitcher or an all-star outfielder. Strangely now if I could be a baseball player, I'd like to be a relief pitcher. Just think about it, you work maybe 50 days a year and you make at least $500,000 and depending on how good you are, you could make like $3-4 mil a year. That's insane.

#3. Designated Hitter - Just think about it this way, you work like 162 days a year and all you do is go up and bat something like 3-5 times a game. That means that you "work" like 15 minutes a day. Who would want to do that? And you can make some nice money doing that, since what does Papi make, like $15mil a year?

#4. Baseball General Manager - Weird, 3 straight jobs about baseball? How many people growing up wanted to be a GM? Anyone? I don't think so. The only reason I made it baseball is because I don't want to deal with a salary cap. I understand that some teams can't spend as much as other(see Marlins, Florida and Royals, Kansas City) but still. Because of fantasy baseball I'd love to be able to put a team together and manage it. Yes, it's really stressfull but I think it would be really rewarding if you're able to build a championship team.

#5. Architech - Yeah, this is random but whatever. I like math and I think it would be fun to put that together to build buildings and things like that. This is one job that if I could go back to college and do it again, I'd look into being an architech.

The Best Baseball Teams in the future

So CC Sabathia trade went through today and with all of the prospects being traded to the Indians it got me thinking about who the best teams will be in the next couple years. These are my top teams:

The Rays - They're just stacked all around and most of their important players are young(Kazmir, Upton & Longoria). I'm hoping their success continues because they have a pretty stacked lineup and rotation. This could spell trouble for the Yankees and the Red Sox.

The Reds - Think about this, they are going to have a rotation of Volquez, Cueto, Harang, and that other guy Thompson(I think). If they get rid of Arroyo and pick up a decent pitcher, that will be one of the best rotations ever. Better than Arizona's. Plus they have Jay Bruce, Joey Votto and Brandon Phillips. They're just plain loaded.

The Brewers - The brew crew have Prince Fielder and Ryan Bruan on their team. But think about this, in next year's draft, saying CC & Sheets sign else where(and they will), the Brewers will have 5 of the top 35 picks in the draft. Just sick. They're going to be loaded.

I think these three teams will be near the top of their divisions in just a couple seasons. It'll be pretty fun to watch these teams mature and win.

The 80's

Well, it's nice for the Mets offense to show up yesterday. I'm not too disappointed with the split even though we should have won 3 out of 4. Now the Mets have a huge test in going to Philly. It would really be nice to take at least two of three, especially since we don't have to face Cole Hamell. I think that'll work in our favor.

Anywho, I thought I'd list my five favorite 80's movies. They don't have to have the 80's feel to it, just filmed during the 80's. So, here it goes.

#1. Return of the Jedi - I think the Empire Strikes Back just misses being filmed in the 80's(I believe it was filmed in 79 otherwise it'd be #1). A great end to the original Star Wars trilogy. There were just sooo many great battles in the movie and one of the saddest scenes(Yoda's death) and this is just one of my favorite movies all time. Now, if Lucas had just been smart and had not created the other three movies.

#2. The Goonies - This definitely represents what an 80's movie is. I love the story with it and the acting was pretty good since most of the people were kids. There are lines in the movie that will be quoted for a long time and I like the music in it(plus the music video is amazing). Any time that it rains it makes me want to watch this movie.

#3. The Neverending Story - One of the great theme songs came from this movie. I've always wondered if there really is a book called the neverending story that the movie was made from. They did make two more movies that weren't that good. And then I noticed that they actually re-made the first two movies with some young kid. I don't know why. But, the movie is just great. I love the plot and it's really easy to get into the movie. Ahhhhhh, I miss the 80's sometimes.

#4. Back to the Future - The movie that helped bring skateboarding back into the limelight, this was just one of those movies that the nerd in me loves to watch. I used to like the second one better but over time I've liked this one more. I will always want a delorian because of this movie. I'm betting that hollywood will eventually re-make this movie. And it will suck, ha ha.

#5. The Terminator - I like this movie just slightly less than the second one, but it doesn't take away from it at all. A great story and great action. Arnold at his best when he barely speaks. I really can't wait for the new movie and I hope they bring back the tv show. On a side note, one of my favorite deleted scenes from the second movie is when Sarah Connor is still locked up and Kyle comes and sees her and tells her to hang on. I wish they had that in the original movie. Just a great scene.

Well, it's Thursday and I feel bad because I haven't posted yet this month, oh well. I've been busy playing my ps3 b/c I haven't had it for a while. So, it's nice to have it back. Last night I did see Hancock. It was pretty good. There was a pretty good twist to it at the end and the action was really good. Of course, cause it was a Will Smith movie there were a lot of funny jokes in it. Also, Jason Bateman was really good. You know, I remember when he did that tv show(sadly the name of it escapes me) and then all of a sudden he and his sister were gone. Now he's turned into a really good actor and has done a bunch of really good movies. I'm kinda surprised.

The end of my first year

It's nice to see that Koho has finally found out about the "internets" and has decided to join the discussion on my blog. Unfortunately the average iq just went down about 20 points. Thanks Koho, thanks. Just so Koho knows, so he can avoid me when I get back to Ct, I'll be back for Malone's bachelor party in September and also for the wedding in October. That'll be about it. I don't think I'll be back for the rest of the year.

But anyways, one year ago ladies, I moved out of Ct and to the lovely city of Columbus, Ohio. I travelled up through NY and then down past Cleveland and into Columbus finally. And since then I've had two jobs and lived in two places(well three if you count the gf's place). I went to 4 Blue Jacket games, 0 osu football or basketball games, 1 osu hockey games, 2 reds games, saw Pedro's first game back last year and Joey Votto hit 3 home runs. Lets just say it's been an interesting year. Now, Rob came up with a good idea, to rate Ct versus Oh so here it goes. Now, I'm only going to limit this to Columbus because I haven't really seen the rest of Ohio besides the Great American Ballpark and some outlet center. Not too extensive. If I was going to rate the whole state of Ohio versus Ct they'd probably be about the same. But, Columbus blows away the horrible state of Ct. Now, as everyone knows I have a biased opinion of Ct. I've lived there most of my life and I really wanted to get out. Honestly, I was willing to move to NJ. NJ people!! That's saying a lot. There are some things that I will miss about CT and that's just basically my family and friends, which is also the one drawback with Columbus, seeing as I'm 9 hours away from everyone, but that in no way makes up for the bad things about CT. I think the worst thing about CT is the fact that the place is boring. There's really not that much to do and not that many places to go. If you want to go anywhere you have to drive at least 20 minutes to get there. The biggest city in Ct is Hartford, and well, it's not much of a city. There aren't that many bars there and the bars suck because all it is is a high school reunion. I'm sorry, but I really don't want to hang out with people from high school that I didn't hang out with before. There are no major sports teams in the state, unless you count the Uconn women's b-ball team. Yeah, that's about it. There are some minor league teams, but who cares? I don't. If you want to see a real team you have to drive either 90 minutes to Boston or 2 hours to NYC. Honestly, Ct should just be split into two and have the southern half be apart of NY and the northern half be apart of mass. Just a thought. Now, with Columbus there's just soooooo much to do. And, they're all around you. If I want to I can walk to a two sports bars, 5 regular bars, a 3 chinese restaurants, 1 inidan, 1 mexican, 3 pizza shops, 1 wings place, a movie theater, 2 ice cream shops, a grocery store, wal-mart, cvs, 4 gas stations, 3 barber shops, I can stay on my street for a city feel or I can walk one block down and be in the suburbs, there's a park and a softball field also. And that's just walking to the places right by you. If I felt like it I could drive 5 minutes and triple everything. You really can't get that in Ct. And the city, it's not like NYC or Boston where the streets feel all grosse and when you get back to your apartment you feel like you need to take a 20 minute shower to clean yourself. It has a sort of old city feeling to it. but don't get me wrong, you can drive to downtown Columbus and get that NYC feeling(not soo much dirty more like the skyscrapers all around you, no grass, no trees, just buildings and pavement all around you). That's what I really like about Columbus, you can run into any type of atmosphere around you. If you want a college atmosphere you can live by OSU. If you want the city atmosphere you can live downtown, if you a suburban atmosphere you can live in Dublin(which is right on the edge of Columbus) and if you want the rural atmosphere with farms and cows and tractors and stuff like that you can drive 10 minutes outside Columbus. That's it. Sometimes its just sensory overload. There's just nothing in Ct that really compares to it. You would honestly just have to come and visit and if you guys ever want to, all you have to do is let me know. Also, it cheaper to live here. He he. And, if you feel you want to go to another city, cincinatti is just over an hour away and so is Cleveland. Pittsburg is about 2 and a half hours away. Chicago is 4. Not too bad.

So, I must admit it, but I've had a really good experience with Sony in regards to my ps3. As people know, my ps3 died a while ago. Well, I was trying to figure out if I wanted to send my ps3 back to Sony or to bring it to Best Buy. With Sony I had to send my ps3 back to them and then wait for them to send one back to me, which I figured would take, you know, forever. I could have taken it to Best Buy and exchanging it, but they didn't have mine in. I was told they might get some in in a couple weeks, but they didn't. I waited a week to see if Best Buy would get one in and they didn't so I ended up sending my ps3 back to Sony this past Friday. Well, they got my ps3 on Monday and surprisingly they shipped me a new one on Wednesday. It's going to be delivered today, which is great. It's been an all around great experience with Sony and I actually wish I had sent mine back right away instead of waiting. Oh well, you live and learn.

The best things about being a kid

So, to make Rob happy I'm going to write a column that doesn't talk about my favorite baseball team. Plus, I'll probably pull out the rest of my hair if I do, he he. For some reason a couple days ago I started thinking about what it was like being a kid and how great it was. I started to laugh thinking about it so I decided that maybe I should make a post about it. So, here it is. My favorite things about being a kid:

#1. No responsibilities - Your clothes are dirty and you need clean ones, no problem, your parents will do it. You're hungry and want something to eat. No problem, someone else does it for you. It's the summer and its nice out, do you have to worry about going to work? Not at all. You wake up when you want, get dressed, eat, go outside and play all day long. Jeez, now that's the life. Out of food? Yo Ma, we're out of food, go get us some(okay, I never said that at all, but you get the point). In fact, you don't have to worry about remembering to set up a dentist, doctor, or eye appointment. You just have to worry about going to them. You have your parents to do that for you. Soooo not fair.

#2. Don't have to go to work - By far the worst thing about being an adult. Life was soooo easy when you're young. You don't have to get up and go to work to make money to support yourself. Uggghhhhh.

#3. You're not into chicks - Life was sooo nice when you didn't have to worry about impressing some chick or trying to go up and talk to them when they were around their friends. In fact, you didn't even like girls because they had koodies. Lots and lots of Koodies. You didn't care how you dressed, how you smelled, what you listened to, who you were friends with. You weren't out there trying to get some chick to like you. You just wanted to have fun. That's it.

#4. No school during the summer - I miss this. I really do. That's why teacher's have it made. Right now my mom's up at our cabin, relaxing and sitting out in the sun. Sooo unfair. But kids, they got it made, too. No need to worry about lesson plans for next year, or making sure you wake up in time for work, or about the morning traffic(stupid slow drivers in the left lane. Get over will you???), or your boss coming over and yelling at you for doing a bad job. I wish I could just take a 2 month vacation. That would be sweet.

#5. You can watch cartoons and not have people think you're weird - What? What's wrong with the fact that I still like cartoons? So, maybe my sense of humor hasn't changed since the fart jokes that I would hear in the second grade. Is that sooo bad? Hmmm... okay, maybe it is, but it's just cause I'm jealous of kids 'cause they have it soooooo easy(and yes, I may have peter pan envy).

Okay, I started out writing a response to what Perrotti said about the Mets not having enough money for both of them. Yeah, no. You're wrong Perrotti. In fact, the Mets could have up to $47 mil coming off the books. Yup, that's a lot. Now, here's a link to the potential free agents for next year: http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2007/12/2009-mlb-free-a.html. Now, with this the Mets will be losing Alou, Delgado, Pedro, El Duke and Oliver Perez. Now, I think the Mets will resign Perez, but I don't think he'll get more than what he's making this year, which is $6mil, so the Mets will have around $41mil to spend. Now, this is the fun thing that I like to do, lets see who the Mets can sign(yeah!). My three favorite starters in this are 1. CC Sabathia, 2. Ryan Dempster, 3. Ben Sheetz and I think the Mets should go after those pitchers in that order. Dempster could be a really good, cheaper option than CC, but this is his first season as a starter, so who knows what will happen next year. Sheetz is a gamble because I think it's more likely he'll resign with the Brewers and also he's a huge injury risk. Now, right now Texiera is the best option at 1b. I don't really care about any of those other players that are free agents. Giambi would have been interesting if he wasn't sooo old and if the Mets had a DH spot. But, they don't and he's not young. Ha ha. Now, the outfield could be interesting. Milton Bradley has been playing really well. I wouldn't mind the Mets going out and signing him, not to a big long term contract, but to something small, like a two year deal. There's also Rocco Baldelli who's on there. I think the Rays will probably be done with him. He's the biggest injury risk out of everyone on the list, but he could be interesting. So, this offseason will be really interesting and I'll be waiting, and hoping the Mets do something to improve the team.

A case of the Mondays

Errrr.... yeah, I haven't written on here in a while. I've just been busy, surprisingly. but, besides that, it looks like the Mets are doing okay. We've won our last three series, just the way they should. All they need to do is win two out of three. that's all I ask. We've trimmed 4 games off the Phillies lead, so that's good. Now we have the Mariners coming in, so that should be easy. They do have the worst record in the league. Also, what's going on with KC? They've been on fire. They've won like 7 or 8 in a row or something like 7 out of 8 or 8 out of 9. I hope they do well because I like the young guys on their team. It would be cool to see them in the playoffs, taking the wild card from the Yankees. He he.

Mike, I think you need to check your stats about CC. Just so you know, in his last nine starts he's gone at least 6 innings in each start and struck out at least 8 in 6 of those starts. Plus, he's taken 3 runs off of his era. Not too shabby. Hopefully he'll test the free agent market. I wouldn't mind having a pitching rotation of Santanta, Sabathia, Maine, Perez, and Pelfrey. Plus, maybe we'll sign Texiera. I don't think he'll re-sign with the Braves and he wouldn't be a bad option at first(but you all know that I'd prefer we re-trade for Jacobs!). I can't remember, but is Wagner's contract up this year or next year? I don't think we'll resign him because he's sooo old. I'm actually surprised at how well he's pitched because he was suppose to have a suspect shoulder. I thought he was going to be like Pedro and on the DL all the time. I just think it's time for us to go younger. Maybe we'll put Duaner as the closer? who knows.

Well, Willie is gone. Today I was looking for a cup to drink milk from and I saw my Willie Cup that I got from subway on the way to game 1 of the NLCS. Malone, do you still have yours? Oh well. The Mets are now 1-1 since the firing. I was impressed by the win yesterday as the Mets came from behind in the ninth to tie it off of F-Rod with David coming through with his second hit in the ninth inning(pretty sad). Then we win it in the 10th with a 2 out hr. Not too shabby of a win and we've now won our last two series. Lets hope it continues.

Well, I've got some time to waste because I'm doing my laundry so I thought I'd go over my favorite people from ESPN. I'll eventually get around to writing my least 5 favorite people from espn. It's just hard to get that top 5 because there are sooooooo many people who suck over there, ha ha. So, here we go.

#1. Erin Andrews - Please, is anyone surprised? Really? Have you seen her? He he. But, the thing with Erin is that she's not just all looks. She's actually really easy to listen to. It seems like she knows what she's talking about and she has a pleasant voice to listen to. I'm just wondering when the WWL is going to call her up to Sportscenter? She's a good sideline reporter, but I think she'd be really good doing a Sportscenter or two a week. I saw her last night doing Sportscenter from the College World Series with Robin Ventura(where's he been?) and she was actually really really good. We'll see what happens from here.

#2. Barry Melrose - I think it's the hair. No one keeps the hockey mullet tradition going stronger than Melrose. But, besides that he's actually nice to listen to. He doesn't over talk anything, gets right to the point and has some good insights into the game. There's a rumor he might be a coach again and if so ESPN will have a hard time replacing him. He's said that he's really happy at ESPN so maybe he won't go. We'll see.

#3. John Buccigross - Yeah, I looked this up and I actually spelled his last name right for once(woo!!!). I really like Bucci's schtick that he uses when he's doing highlights. He's pretty interesting, plus he always references bands that I like that I wouldn't think that he would know. I miss NHL Tonight because he did a great job on that show. Maybe the NHL will get rid of Bettman and then be back on ESPN. Probably not, but I can dream.

#4. Scott Van Pelt - Not as good at sports as the rest of the members of his family, but at least he'll have a long lasting career. SVP is by far my favorite ESPN anchor. Plus, the message he left on that random chick's vm is priceless. It's nice to know that he's just a regular guy. That's the way that he comes off on Sportscenter and it's nice that he backed it up. Apparently he even made fun of himself at a graduation speech.

#5. Buster Olney - Not only does he have an awesome blog on ESPN but he's pretty good on Baseball Tonight. He has a really good insight into what's going on in the game and he's easy to listen too when he's talking on BT. Hopefully ESPN doesn't screw this up and do something stupid, like let him go. Ha ha.

Mike Guest Post - I Win

Poor Willie. As happy as I am to have officially won the Randolph/Cashman debate, I hate the way the Mets handled this. I mean come on. They've been undermining his authority for weeks, then they make him fly out to Anaheim, he wins the game, has to do his post game interviews, then they drop the bomb in the middle of the night? Are you kidding me? No class. It's like the Mets brass sat around and tried to figure out the worst possible way to handle this. While it's unlikely that Willie will do this now, I really wish he would accept his invitation to be on Clint Hurdle's coaching staff for the All Star Game. He'd get the ovation he deserves in Yankee Stadium. I think he'll get another chance to manage. If you look at his overall record with the Mets, and the fact that he had them just a few outs from the World Series, You have to admit he did some things right. It's amazing when you think about out. Had they won that game against the Cardinals, and managed to make the playoffs last year, we are not having this conversation. I really think it has way more to do with the lack of leadership amongst the players than it does with Willie. A guy like Mike Piazza wouldn't have put up with all the crap going on in that clubhouse. And it's not like Jerry Manuel is going to fix anything. That guy makes Willie look like Larry Bowa.

By the way, Billy Wagner does a guest spot every Thursday at 5:20 on the Michael Kay show on 1050 ESPN Radio - NY. If any of you who can't pick it up on the radio get a chance, you should go to 1050espnradio.com and listen. Billy just says whatever comes into his head, and pulls no punches. He'll throw himself and other guys under the bus, and usually refers to himself in the 3rd person at least once per interview. I would imagine that this weeks appearance will be a good one. I'll be listening.

Anyways, I have more important things to worry about, like who's going to fill the void left by Chien Ming Wang. It kills me the way pitchers just seem to always find new ways to hurt themselves... I'm ready for football to start!

- I have to admit I totally agree with what Mike said. It was complete BS the way the Mets handled it. I wish there was some way for me to defend my team, but I can't. I really can't. Plus, they fired the wrong person. Omar should have been gone. In fact, Omar should have been gone after the 2005 season. He's made one wrong move after another. In fact, I'm trying to think and I really can't think of anything that really went well that he did. I understand the Pedro signing, we needed to get a big name in NY and everyone knew Pedro was going to get injured and probably often. I also don't blame him for the Beltran signing because, well, Beltran's one of my favorite players. We'll still have to see what happens with the Santana trade. But he failed to trade for Dan Haren when he would have only given up Lastings and Heilman, which right now would have been a steal. The Delgado trade was bad. He had one good season but sucked after that. We could have gotten that kind of production from Mike Jacobs(I refuse to ever, EVER let this go) and for the fraction of the price. In fact, we'd have like $15/mil a year we could have spent on another pitcher and hitter. Ugghhh. The Lo Duca trade was worthless because we gave up nothing and we got 1 good year and 1 horrible year out of him. Then, in 2006 it seemed we were stocked with really good young pitchers so he trade Bannister to the Royals for Ambioux, who sucks. This team could be sooooo much different and sooooooo much better if he had done things the right way. Just think(because you know how much I like to think about this stuff), we could have a pitching staff right now of Johan Santana, Dan Haren, Pedro, Maine, Perez. Then, once Pedro's gone we replace him with Pelfrey. Or, now that we have $40 mil coming off the books after this season, maybe we could get someone like CC to come in? Oh well. As for Cashman, because of Wang, I could see him being gone at the end of the season because the Yankees are in real trouble now. Could he end up in Seattle after this season? It could be interesting.
